How to Tell the Truth While “Staying Positive”

4/30/2024
Do you sometimes feel the tension between telling the truth about what happened to you and staying “positive”? Or maybe you’ve given up on staying positive altogether since your story includes tragedy or despair. In this episode, I come at this question head-on. I share an experience from my childhood that I’ve never talked about publicly before and discuss how I personally have used a tool like writing to tell the story the true way, without letting it crush me. NOTE: This episode includes explicit language and also topics not suitable for children, specifically childhood sexual abuse. Keep this in mind if you are feeling too sensitive for that topic today or if you have little ears nearby. Pre-order Write Your Story and download your free resources HERE! What’s Happening When It Feels Like Nothing Is Happening

1/23/2024
Sometimes we go through seasons of life (and writing) where it feels like nothing is happening. Progress seems halted. Momentum feels paused. What if — when life feels like it’s happening in backward motion — more progress is taking place than you can sense or measure? That’s what I’m talking about in today's episode. The concept is called “Wintering” and I hope it brings you as much peace as it has for me. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
