EP 018 - The Longevity Approach to Training w/ Kieran Maguire

10/25/2023
Why training for longevity is the way forward In this episode, Matt and Kieran discuss the longevity approach to training and why this has been popularised recently as the key to a healthy, long life. Longevity looks at a sustainable approach to training so that you can continue to train and stay healthy all the way from 15 to 85. The boys touch on how the old way of training, going in and smashing yourself through high intensity training and weights, where you’re left feeling more sore than good, is not an effective way to train for a long period of time. Over time, something has to give, more often than not, resulting in injury. If you’re a young athlete or gym goer, this is especially the case for you as you want to be able to maintain this level of function for as long as possible. We discuss the importance of longevity when it comes to health and fitness and why smashing yourself all day, every day in strength classes or high intensity classes may be doing more harm then good.
