The Awakened Way to the Miraculous with Suzanne Giesemann

4/30/2024
Today we are diving into true transformation, awakening, and living a miraculous life with one of the women I have admired most these last years, Suzanne Giesemann. Suzanne is an author, spiritual teacher, and medium recognized on Watkins’ 2022 List of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People. A former US Navy commander who served as an aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, she now practices 21st-century spirituality, which merges the latest scientific understanding about consciousness with ancient spiritual wisdom. Suzanne channels this wisdom into sharing the Awakened Way – a path to knowing who you are and why you’re here. On her YouTube channel, which has over 10 million views, she helps kindred souls shift to living a consciously connected and divinely guided life. I have felt my own shifts from her great wisdom, having had the great blessing of being on her fabulous podcast, The Messages of Hope. Suzanne has also taught for Your Year of Miracles program for one of my guest expert sessions, and she had me at Hello. With her latest book The Awakened Way: Making the Shift to a Divinely Guided Life, Suzanne reaches to help millions of others go from an emptiness that can’t be filled to a fullness that can’t be contained. In this episode, Suzanne speaks courageously and beautifully about how the tragic death of her daughter, Susan, inspired her insight that we are not only human but also souls, and the joy of reconnecting to Susan in the spirit world. She shares her insights into the reality of the spirit world as a higher consciousness beyond the popular wooh-wooh and lays out the stepping stones to access this higher consciousness which is always there to guide you. Most importantly, Suzanne gives practical guidance for those struggling on their path to accessing the higher consciousness and entering the state of just being, which is unconditional love. “You're part of one big web of connections, not just with each other here, but with the non-physical world. And once you start recognizing that, then the miracles that you show everybody about become commonplace.” – Suzanne Giesemann What we talked about: Making the Shift to Soul Awareness: Suzanne shares the circumstances of her daughter's death and when she realized that Susan was a soul rather than just a body, which inspired her mission to reconnect with her + how, by quietening her mind, Suzanne connected not only with Susan but many others. (04:25) The M-Word: By sitting still and asking to connect, Suzanne shares how she expanded her intuition to psychic mediumship and the ability to know what people were thinking which frightens her husband to this day. (07:55) The Three Lessons of the Awakened Way: Suzanne stresses the importance of these beliefs: You're not only human; you're part of one big web of connections with the physical and the non-physical world; love is the healing and creative force that's bringing us all together (10:21) The 3 Es – Education, Experience, Engage: The benefits of practicing the three lessons, sitting still, and talking back to your wisest thoughts (12:24) The Genie In The Bottle: Suzanne clarifies the ideas of personal and universal guides and higher self as manifestations of one sea of consciousness + Suzanne’s personal guide, and how she is guided by her late friend and her stepdaughter + how guides are not always perfect (14:19 Seeing with the Eyes of The Soul: The importance of knowing and feeling over thinking + practical advice to still the chaos of our minds and senses and access the information that truly helps us. + Suzanne shares the story of how a boy who was struck by lightning reached out to her (17:11) Finding the Courage to Bear Witness: Suzanne opens up about how her personal experience of the spirit world and those who have thanked her for saving their lives give her the boldness and courage to continue on her path and spread her message + how she has learned not to engage with...

From Shame to the Miracle Life Through Compassion and Forgiveness with Leila Reyes

4/16/2024
Today we dive into the heart of transformation and resilience with our amazing guest, Leila Reyes. Leila is a remarkable woman. And as you’ll hear in this episode, her life journey truly exemplifies the extraordinary power of the human spirit. She has courageously embraced the shadows of childhood trauma and now lives a life filled with grace, unconditional self-love and miracles. Her story is a true testament to the indomitable nature of the human soul. Leila is also a very dear, dear, dear friend, colleague, and a fabulous cheerleader and support in my life. Leila’s rich life experience shows up in her gifts as a coach. She was actually the very first coach for my Your Year of Miracles program more than 11 years ago and continues to this day. She also has a master's degree in social work. Most recently, she’s the author of Freedom From Shame: Trauma, Forgiveness, and Healing from Sexual Abuse. And she’s the brilliant host of a new podcast called Courageous Conversations. In this episode, Leila shares the profound experiences that have sparked her passionate mission to light the way for others who seek happiness and fulfillment, but seem to have trouble finding the way. She opens up about her own traumatic past and shares how she found her way through the darkness and into the light.. Above all, she shares the steps she has taken in her life that have helped others live their own miraculous lives. “Life's greatest wounds bring wisdom and compassion, which can bring healing to many people. You can turn your wound into a contribution which makes a difference in the world.” – Leila Reyes What we talked about: “I did not always live this life.” (05:24) How Leila confronted her father over sexual abuse and released herself from a state of victimhood (08:13) Existential shame and learning to forgive through radical responsibility (09.38) The importance of finding a Beautiful Circle of friends who believe in you (13:13) The benefit of having a vision that’s bigger than your fear (16:02) How to ease your own pain through self-compassion (17:28) The three steps to the miracle zone: Self-compassion, the circle of friends, and practicing gratitude (18:54) Leila’s podcast Courageous Conversations (22:23) The story of the Chowchilla prison women and how Leila helped them overcome their own traumas to live beautiful lives (24:02) Leila’s final words of wisdom from her book, Freedom from Shame (26:34) Favorite quotes from the episode: Okay, I'm gonna be scared. I'm gonna take a step forward and I'm gonna do it anyway – Leila Reyes This challenge that I experienced is across the board. It's a human experience – Leila Reyes The biggest challenge to living in the miracle zone is to really get out of victimization. I had to remind myself over and over again that the difficult experiences that happen in life are not happening to me, but they're happening through me and for me – Leila Reyes How someone treats you is not your responsibility, but leaving or staying in an abusive relationship is your responsibility. So I had to really get underneath that so that I could see what's mine and what isn't mine. And then I could take responsibility for what was mine and let the rest go. –Leila Reyes There's a lot of different ways you can forgive, but it's not about condoning the behavior, right? – Leila Reyes I've learned that treating yourself with compassion is hard for everyone, everyone, not just survivors of abuse. And so the first way to start bringing more compassion to yourself is to fake it till you make it – Leila Reyes Just continue, continue, continue, because if I can get out of this experience, if I can free myself from shame, you can too – Leila Reyes Connect with Leila: leilareyes.com Connect with Us: Website Instagram Find Your Miracle Superpower https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinginthemiraclezone/ Connect with Marci: Instagram Twitter YouTube

Solo: Happiness and Miracles: How to Be a Victor in Life

3/27/2024
The first big happiness question to ask is, are you a victim in your life? Or are you a victor? – Marci Shimoff Happiness is what everybody wants, and we can all have it. It's actually our birthright. And being happy is really about living in the Miracle Zone. In today's episode, I’ll dive into my 25 years of research into happiness and what I learned from unconditionally happy people and people like Holocaust survivor Victor Frankl. I’ll share with you what I mean by happiness, and then I'm going to share with you what I think is a deep foundation for both happiness and a miraculous life: showing up in your life as a victor. Finally, I’ll guide you through a breathing practice that will keep you grounded in the present moment. What I talked about: My years of trying to be happy inside by “lining things up” on the outside, and my 25-year journey to discover true happiness (1:29) Learning what happiness is and what it isn’t through studying unconditionally happy people (3:42) Learning to take responsibility for your life as the key to unconditional happiness; learning from the Happy Hundred and Jack Canfield; and how Victor Frankl chose to be a victor even in the Holocaust (04:55) The three patterns of playing the victim – blaming, shaming, and complaining – and how to break through them into happiness (10:42) Guided meditation to connect to Mother Earth (14:03) Favorite quotes from the episode: The first big happiness question to ask is, are you a victim in your life? Or are you a victor? - Marci Shimoff What I mean by happy…doesn't mean that you're walking around 24/7 with a silly grin on your face or that you're in some Pollyanna state of denial. But what it does mean is that you have that inner unshakable happiness that nothing or nobody can take away. - Marci Shimoff The idea of taking responsibility can sound like a lot of work, but I promise you the moment you let go of the belief that other people or outside circumstances have the power to make or break your happiness, then you're free because you call the shots for your happiness. - Marci Shimoff We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a person, but one thing, the last of the human freedoms: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way. - Victor Frankl It's not the events in our lives that determine our life, but it's our responses to those events that determine our outcomes in life. - Marci Shimoff When we are present, we are happiest. We are not stuck in blame, shame, and complaining. We are in the victor mode rather than the victim mode. And that's when we are happy. Everything was preparing me for something greater that would happen in my life. And so as I started to live more in synchronicity with circumstance, I found that instead of a miracle for me being defined as the fulfillment of a super duper desire, I found everyday life I found the breath, I believe, fact when I open up a faucet and water flows out to actually be part of life's infinite miracles, and I started to see everything as miraculous, and not just the things I was holding out for. We talked about: Matt’s awakening to the miracle zone and seeing the miraculous in everyday life (03:43) The importance of letting go of controlling life (06:53) Moving past the fear of being one’s authentic self (11:47) Matt’s ideas on the nervous system and loving the fearful part of you as the key to action in life (15:29) Matt delves into the making of his film Healed by Love exploring the role of love in leading a miraculous life. Matt’s closing insights into accessing the miracle zone. (27:24) Favorite quotes from the episode: Miracles are always occurring. We just have to become aware of it - Matt Kahn We don't have to try to do everything in one 24-hour cycle. If we actually allow ourselves to take time and move at the speed of love, we allow the miracles to unfold slowly but surely, like beautiful flowers blossoming in the garden - Matt Kahn One of the main ways people can really get into the miracle zone is when we are not quite focused on what needs to happen - Matt Kahn In order to be excited by authenticity, we have to be willing to accept our fears and then step forward anyway - Matt Kahn To first love ourselves is to say that it's safe for me to be the focus of attention. It's okay for me to be the focus of attention, it doesn't mean I did anything wrong and it's not going to lead to punishment even if I carry that memory from the past - Matt Kahn Connect with Matt: Matt’s new documentary, Healed By Love Website Instagram Facebook YouTube Twitter TikTok Connect with Us: Website Instagram Find Your Miracle Superpower https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinginthemiraclezone/ Connect with Marci: Instagram Twitter YouTube

Staying Open In A Challenging World

10/31/2023
How do you stay grounded when faced with the overwhelming realities of what's going on in the world? In today's solo episode, we'll explore how to stay in the Miracle Zone amidst the world's challenges without spiritual bypassing. I'll show you how to remain connected to your heart and humanity. And I'll guide you through a breathing practice for connecting with your inner strength and anchoring your body, mind, and spirit in unconditional love and compassion. A lot is going on in the world. It can feel challenging to stay rooted in loving awareness in the face of so much desensitizing cruelty and negativity. Many people feel pulled between ignoring the world's challenges so they don't disrupt their vibration or staying glued to social media and the news. But the news floods you with fear, anger, confusion, and adrenaline. So what do you do? Well, there's another way to stay anchored in possibilities and inspiration without turning away from the challenges happening in the world, and that is the Miracle Zone way. The Miracle Zone way is remaining in and showing up in unconditional love despite the pervasive negativity in your environment. It's a powerful expression of light that our world desperately needs right now. Everyone across the planet is witnessing significant atrocities happening in the Middle East and feeling the collective grief for the innocent caught in the crossfire. And in the face of a monumental level of suffering and oppression, it's natural to ask the question: What do we do? How do we hold space for the hurting and stay sane while moving through the darkness? These are some of the questions we’ll begin answering as we explore the tools I have for you today to help you keep your heart open while living through challenging times. Living fully in the Miracle Zone is all about knowing that to shine your light and show up in unconditional love with compassion, unattached to any specific outcome other than liberation, takes courage. In our courageousness, we can be blessed, and, in turn, be a blessing to others. Kindness still abounds and staying hopeful in humanity is the way forward. Join me today for heart-based guided meditation to anchor into a place of love and inner strength and step out of the loop of fear and adrenaline. “May the fragrance of the love that you've cultivated, even in this short meditation, spread across your life and ripple through your community and our world.” - Marci Shimoff What I talked about: Staying grounded and inspired amid global challenges (0:50) Stepping into your power to step out of the loop of fear and adrenaline (2:16) A guided meditation for anchoring into a place of love and inner strength (4:59) Opening up to the possibility of miracles through heart-focused breathing (8:23) An invitation to ground the love and wisdom of the meditation (12:10) Favorite quotes from the episode: “When we want to take action, we take action from a place of greater compassion and love when we are emanating love. And when we're sending out blessings, we are contributing to that energetic field. And it's really from the energy of love that miracles can happen.” - Marci Shimoff. “Only turn on the news when you are already very strong in yourself and you're in a state of great compassion because then you can deal with it in a way that is most helpful. And she said that when you come to find your place of inner strength and compassion, then you become a blessing.” - Jean Houston. Using the Alchemy of The Heart to Heal Old Wounds with Ram Dass

9/26/2023
In today's solo episode, I share how my recent visit to Ram Dass's home inspired me to dive deeper into how we can heal our most wounded parts through love and understanding. Visiting Ram Dass's home in Maui was miraculous, happening about a month before the fires swept across parts of the island. If you've ever been to Maui, you know how very special it is. Before Ram Dass passed away, we had an opportunity to get together for an interview and talk about love. So, for today's episode, I’ll share a short clip of the insightful wisdom from this most treasured conversation with you today. In addition, I'll share 3 steps you can use to heal your deepest, most wounded parts. And I’ll tell you a story about one of my “wounded parts” around comparison. Every single one of us has wounded parts. These parts tell you you're not good enough, that no one understands what you've been through, or that you're not worthy of life’s goodies. The wounded parts of you crave what the great spiritual teacher, psychologist, and writer Ram Dass described as your loving awareness. When you bring your loving awareness to those wounded parts, they shift–you then live from a more heart-centered reality which brings you into the Miracle Zone! Ram Dass had a saying, "The most important journey we ever take is the 18-inch journey from the head to the heart." Back in the late '90s, Ram Dass had a stroke. While it was a physically devasting event, he said the experience actually forced him to live from the heart. So today, in memory and honor of Ram Dass, I guide you through a process to take that 18-inch journey from the head to the heart. It's called the Alchemy of the Heart Process, and through it, we practice bringing our loving awareness to the wounded parts of ourselves. Ram Dass's favorite mantra was "I am loving awareness." This mantra reminds you that you are not the body. You are not the hurt or the pain. You are not the challenge or the circumstances. You are the loving awareness. Join me today as we connect with this loving awareness to heal the deepest wounds, find the miracle in your healing, and let it fill your heart, creating a truly miraculous life. “I think you have to move your identity from your ego, which is up here [the head], down to your soul, which is about the middle of your heart. And when you are in your soul, you will see everything as love and as lovable.” - Ram Dass What I talked about: The miracle of my recent visit to Ram Dass’s home in Maui (1:35) Ram Dass’s teaching on bringing loving awareness to the wounded parts of ourselves (3:55) My experience with comparison as a wounded part (6:39) Three steps you can use to help identify and heal wounded parts (7:57) My guided meditation to facilitate an Alchemy of the Heart Process (12:40) An invitation to ground the wisdom of the meditation (19:49) Favorite quotes from the episode: We know a wounded part because of the pain that it brings up in us. They're always based on some judgment or lie. “With all of our wounds, the best thing to do is to bless them, open to them, learn from them, love them, because they're like thorns that poke us because they're looking for our loving attention in order to be healed.” - Marci Shimoff Connect with Us: Website Instagram Find Your Miracle Superpower https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinginthemiraclezone/

Living in the Miracle of Your Divinity with Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati

9/19/2023
In this episode, I had the wonderful pleasure of speaking with a dear friend and beloved spiritual teacher, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati. Sadhvi shows us how to open to miracles every moment and experience profound happiness and fulfillment in life. Based in Rishikesh, India, Sadhvi is a motivational speaker, social activist, and the author of the #1 best-selling memoir, Hollywood to the Himalayas: A Journey of Healing and Transformation, which outlines her miraculous Transformation and Spiritual Awakening. Working with the United Nations and the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Sadhvi has received countless awards for her humanitarian work. Sadhvi’s story is so fascinating. Her journey was entirely accidental–or, as she says, full of synchronicities that she wasn’t looking for. In the midst of her Ph.D.studies at Stanford, she very reluctantly agreed to visit India with her husband. And yet, what unfolded was breathtaking, unexpected, and profound. It was a true experience of the Divine. Together with us, she examines the details that led to her awakening and how that awakening changed her perspective of what a ‘privileged’ life really is. She shares how to experience the kind of happiness that endures and goes beyond an ordinary life. Sadhvi talks of continuous gratitude and acceptance of the movements and mysteries of the Universe. And she teaches us three practices we can all use to open up to miracles. I loved her perspective on what it means to live boldly in the Miracle Zone, and I think you will too! (31:46) A third simple and profound practice she calls The Trust Fall (32:20) Favorite quotes from the episode: “The Universe is not a vending machine. It's not going to give you just what you think you want. It's going to give you that which is best for you.” “The reason that we take birth is to awaken to our divinity, to wake up to our true selves, and to live that.” “It wasn't that the miracle was becoming a monastic or that the miracles are because I'm a monastic, it was that I had thought my life was going to be something totally different. The miracle was that I had the clarity, the connection, and the courage to open my heart to what my dharma was.” “We are the miracles.” Connect with Sadhvi: Website Hollywood to the Himalayas: A Journey of Healing and Transformation Connect with Us: Website Instagram Find Your Miracle Superpower https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinginthemiraclezone/

Unleash The Miracle of Your Voice with The Brothers Koren

9/5/2023
In this episode, I really enjoyed sitting down with two of my favorite brothers, Isaac and Thorald Koren. Formally known as The Kin, The Brothers Koren are transformational voice leaders who have appeared live on Conan, earned a Gold Record, and performed for over a million people while touring with the likes of Coldplay, Pink, Bon Jovi, and Rod Stewart. After getting to experience living what they thought was their dream, they found themselves feeling unsatisfied and burdened. They felt the weight of the expectations they and the rest of the world placed on their voices. Then in a chance moment, completely unexpected, they tapped into the Miracle Zone and created their unique work that's impacting the world. Today, they help nurture and foster voices of people all over the world so that each person (singers and “non-singers” alike) can fully embody who they are. Their mission to help free and uplift ALL voices. I've had the privilege of being coached by the Brothers Koren myself, and they’re truly masters at their craft. They’ve even presented at Your Year of Miracles Retreat, where they created with us the Living in the Miracle Zone theme song. You can hear it in the intro and outro of each podcast episode. Can you believe it only took them 15 minutes to create!? Join us as we dive into the miraculous nature of the voice! Find how you can authentically express yourself and break free from any blocks that may keep you from living your miraculous life. “Magic occurs when you let go of control. It's better to share an idea that's almost ready, rather than wait until it's perfect.“ - The Brothers Koren What we talked about: Isaac’s and Thorald's shift to fully living in the Miracle Zone (4:16) How you can heal from feeling disempowered or unable to fully express yourself (8:06) What happens when you open up to the inner voice (12:52) Recognizing your false voice and freeing yourself into truthful expression (16:46) Isaac and Thorald invite you to experience your true voice in real-time (17:16) Letting go and getting into the flow of creative energy (23:13) How daring to suck is intimately entangled with daring to be great (27:34) The Embodied Voice Summit (29:34) Beautiful last words (31:31) Favorite quotes from the episode: "We've all been pressured by presentation, performance comparison, and competition. And that reverses the creative process that nature intended. Often, it creates a narrow keyhole where we're trying to be excellent through a small space. And so it creates an inhibited, fearful environment. When we flip it back around and set new ways of being, that kindergartener who is playful, messy, and part of the human experience gets to come back to the surface. "- Thorald Koren "We find that the voice is one of those amazing magnetic qualities of the human instrument that calls the world or what is there for you, towards you. Expressing your voice gets you in what you beautifully call the Miracle Zone." - Isaac Koren "If voice has been calling you and you have pushed it to the wayside, or if you were inhibited at a young age and bought into the belief that you didn't sing, or you didn't speak, or you didn't rise and lead others, it's time to let go and express yourself. Your creativity is in there, somewhere under your ribcage, and wants to come out. Just do it, make a mess, and see what occurs." - Thorald Koren Connect with The Brothers Koren: Website The Embodied Voice Summit Connect with Us: Website Instagram Find Your Miracle Superpower https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinginthemiraclezone/

In this episode, I sat down with my dear friend and former publicist Arielle Ford. Arielle is a famous book publicist who has launched some of the world's top self-help and spiritual authors. In this episode, find out why Arielle is called "The Cupid of Consciousness" and "The Fairy Godmother of Love." Over the years, Arielle has helped me recognize the beauty of my relationship with my husband and she’s shown me how to make it more miraculous. Her mission these days is to help people Find, Keep, and Be Love. Arielle shares one of her biggest ah-ha moments--what people confuse with manifestation. And If you've experienced hurt or betrayal, Arielle’s wisdom can help you heal your heart and soul. The best part? Arielle tells us what she does just before the most unbelievable miracles happen. Today, Arielle talks about how she lives in the Miracle Zone and taps into her spiritual toolkit daily, delving into the importance of loving your own imperfections and how to reframe the differences between you and your partner. You’ll learn about the physical state of being in love, shifting your relationship to miraculous, and so much more! And every time I've surrendered at the deepest level, that's when the biggest, most unbelievable miracles happen.” - Arielle Ford “The happier we are, the more easily we draw to us everything we want. Every moment of every day, we're sending out energetic signals that are felt by the people around us. And this explains why a desperate person draws to himself or herself more desperation, while a person who is already fulfilled becomes a magnet for greater fulfillment.” - Arielle Ford “No matter how long your soulmate wish list is, you're gonna get stuff you never asked for. How To Receive Signs From The Universe

7/25/2023
Was it a coincidence? Or was it a sign? The Universe is constantly communicating with us as we navigate this journey called life. Whether we hear the perfect song at just the right time, get the answer to a question from a passing license plate, or have a random but meaningful encounter with a wise stranger, the Universe is always speaking to us through imagery and symbolism. There are no coincidences once we set the intention to live our lives in alignment with the flow of the Universe. When we wholeheartedly believe that the Universe is always speaking to us, all kinds of signs, symbols, and circumstances show up to offer us the information or guidance we most need most at the time. In today's episode, I bring you a meditation for connecting to your Higher wisdom and asking for the sign you need most. Whether you’ve got a question about an important business decision, a new relationship, a move you've been thinking about, or anything in your life–big or small–you can connect with clarity, direction, and answers through signs. As you become more and more receptive, you’ll open to an abundance of confirmations and miraculous messages. I also share the magical experience that gave me the idea and led to me writing the Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul books, which became #1 New York Times bestsellers. And I’ve included a story about an amazing message from my father shortly after his passing. There are no coincidences, only synchronicities. And the Miracle Zone is always rich with the most awe-inspiring instances of synchronicity. You know you're living in the Miracle Zone when you continually notice and open to receiving signs from the Universe. Join me as I discuss the purpose of signs and how to look for them. The Universe is guiding our way, if we pay attention. “When we pay attention to and follow the signs that show up for us, we move into the miracle zone and become more aligned with what our soul came here to do.” - Marci Shimoff What I talked about: The purpose of signs (1:21) Asking a question and waiting to receive (2:17) The ultimate confirmation and magical experience that inspired this episode (4:45) When to ask for a sign (7:43) A Guided Meditation to connect with your Higher Self (8:30) Grounding the wisdom of the meditation (15:31) Favorite quotes from the episode: “The Universe is always speaking to us. It speaks in imagery; it speaks through symbology. And when we open up to receive signs, they'll help us get on our most aligned path.” - Marci Shimoff “Be on the lookout for signs in all forms. A sign could come in the form of a song on the radio, a number on the clock, a bluebird flying past you, or a license plate that's right in front of you.
