2/29/2024

Important Links: Find More Time PDF: https://www.head-coach.com.au/findmoretime 1. The Rollercoaster Metaphor: Prue shares her family's dynamics and reactions to the idea of riding a rollercoaster. The anticipation, fear, and excitement surrounding the rollercoaster experience mirror our emotional journeys in life. Taking small steps, like riding less intense rides, builds tolerance for handling more significant emotional challenges. 2. Lessons from the Rollercoaster Ride: Prue recounts her experience of gradually working up to the big rollercoaster. Anticipation in line highlights the emotional build-up, akin to facing life's challenges. The initial fear transforms into exhilaration, leading to a sense of accomplishment and increased self-belief. 3. Balancing Act: Coasting vs. Rollercoaster: Prue draws parallels between coasting (everyday life) and riding the emotional rollercoaster (heightened experiences). Encourages listeners to reflect on their current state: Are they constantly riding the highs and lows, or are they stuck in a state of apathy and boredom? Acknowledges the importance of finding harmony between stability and occasional emotional intensity. 4. Listening to Your Body: Emotions are not problems to solve but experiences to be felt and processed. Recognizing cues from your body: coasting in a state of flow vs. needing a rollercoaster ride for a new perspective. Learning to distinguish between indulging in emotions and allowing them to be felt for personal growth. 5. The Power of Emotional Intelligence: Embracing negative emotions as a path to emotional intelligence. The transient nature of emotions: They only last as long as you allow them to. Feeling stronger, more connected, and gaining a broader perspective after processing emotions. As we wrap up this episode, Prue encourages listeners to reflect on two essential questions: Are you always on the emotional rollercoaster, and what can help you coast? Or are you coasting too much and need a rollercoaster ride to spice up your life? Find the balance that works for you and embrace the richness of life's emotional experiences. Remember, the ride may be short, but the growth and learning are everlasting. Episode 38- The Ten Month Year

1/20/2024
Hey there! In this episode, I took a moment to reflect on the common belief that January is the ultimate fresh start, challenging the illusion of a serene beginning to the year. I acknowledged the chaos that often characterises December and January, especially for those of us with family responsibilities. I want you to know it's perfectly okay not to beat yourself up for not achieving your January goals; let's reframe those expectations. I shared the idea of viewing the year as 10 productive months and using December and January for wrapping up tasks and resetting, rather than diving into new ambitious goals. Flexibility is key here, along with prioritising essential tasks and finding humour in the chaos. Laughter can be a game-changer! The main takeaway? Give yourself some grace. Release that self-judgement and guilt for not meeting those perceived expectations in January. Looking forward, February could be an excellent starting point for new goals, especially when routines return. I also mentioned a free mini-course, "Build Unshakeable Proof," which can be a handy tool to ease into the year and boost confidence in achieving your goals. Key Points: Reflect on your December and January experiences. Shift your perspective to see the year as 10 productive months. Embrace flexibility and be open to adjusting your plans. Prioritise essential tasks and consider letting go of unnecessary ones. Reflect on past experiences and learn from them. Actively seek out laughter; find humour in the chaos. Give yourself grace; release self-judgement and guilt. Consider February as a fresh starting point for new goals. Connect with others for support and understanding. Check out the free mini-course, "Build Unshakeable Proof," for additional guidance. As we wrap up, remember, you're not alone in navigating the challenges of January. Let's support each other and embrace the journey! If you're ready to break free from old habits, explore coaching opportunities.
