Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

12/6/2023
Is imposter syndrome holding you back? On today’s episode I am diving into this. Imposter syndrome is a persistent feeling of being a fraud or underserving of success. Although social media is a powerful tool, it can create feelings of imposter syndrome. We’re constantly bombarded with small clips of other people’s lives, which often causes us to compare ourselves with others. It’s important to remember that you are only seeing a small curated version of other people’s lives, not the full picture. I want to encourage you to unfollow or mute accounts that cause these feelings. Recognize your ability and don’t downplay your accomplishments. One of the ways to overcome imposter syndrome is by setting realistic goals. Focus on what is achievable for you. Celebrate each small win along the way and assess your engagement and overall content creation on social media. This allows you to celebrate your achievements and make the experience fun again overall. Seek support from friends, family, or even a therapist if needed. Opening up about imposter syndrome and sharing struggles can provide perspective and remind you that others are facing similar challenges. Embrace authenticity and be genuine. Share your highs and lows, successes and failures, and provide your unique perspective. Authenticity is your greatest asset, making you different and valuable on social media. I hope my words resonate with you and empower you to overcome imposter syndrome. Feel free to share this episode with someone who may benefit from it and tag me in your stories for a shoutout. I also invite you to join us in the Sufficiently Social Society for a founding members rate! Remember, you are enough just as you are. Let's overcome imposter syndrome together! Hashtags Really Do Work

11/22/2023
Do hashtags really work? Yes! In today’s episode, I am sharing the importance of using hashtags on Instagram for growth. I share my personal journey with hashtags and how niched ones helped me reach my target audience. On my own journey, I discovered that hashtags with fewer than 850,000 uses but more than 10,000 were the sweet spot for visibility. This was a game-changer for me, and I want to emphasize the importance of researching and tracking the performance of your hashtags regularly. Trends and audience preferences can change, and staying on top of these changes can make a significant difference. I share about one of my clients Sherron, who is part of the fashion industry and LGBTQ space, really shows the power of hashtag use. By implementing hashtags in her strategy, I helped Sherron grow from 127 followers to 1,000 followers in 6 months! As you think about your own brand or business, consider what makes you unique. This uniqueness is what will help make you searchable, using hashtags that align with your niche. I’ve seen many make the mistake of not using hashtags at all or using overly generic ones. I want to encourage you to use hashtags that resonate with your target audience and explore the hashtags followed by similar profiles. Instagram insights can be a powerful tool to track the performance of your hashtags. It's important to monitor these numbers and make sure they are going in the right direction. If not, it may be necessary to switch up your hashtags and try something new. Hashtags are a brilliant way to reach new people, and I assure you, they are here to stay. However, to make them work for you, it's essential to have a strategy and plan in place. If you're still unsure about hashtags and need help understanding them, I invite you to join the next "Hashtags Made Simple" masterclass. This 90-minute live workshop will provide you with the exact secrets I use to build successful hashtag strategies. As a listener, you can save $10 off the next masterclass! Should You Go Live?

11/15/2023
Welcome back to another episode of the Sufficiently Social Podcast! Today we are talking all about going live! I am sharing my four step process for going live. Going live on social media requires careful planning. It’s not just about hitting the “live” button but it’s about creating a meaningful and engaging experience for your audience. Get the right equipment. A phone is usually sufficient, but remember to put it on “do not disturb” mode to avoid interruptions during the live. Think of 2-3 topic ideas and align them with any guests you may invite to join the live. This will keep the conversation focused and engaging. Remember, you can schedule lives in advance. I recommend advertising the live 24 hours in advance. Also, don’t forget to turn on the autosave feature in Instagram settings to save the live video for future use. Once you’re live, start the conversation immediately. Engage with viewers by asking questions and encouraging comments. This boosts engagement and visibility on social media platforms. To keep things organized, consider creating slides ahead of time. There are resources available for Instagram live strategy templates such as these that can help with this. Remember to eliminate distractions, have a drink nearby, and set a timer for the live session to allow for teaching and Q&A. After the live session, save the video immediately, especially if you have limited phone storage. This video can be repurposed for future content. Sharing the replay is crucial because it adds value and reaches a wider audience. Prepare a cover photo, write a caption, and prepare hashtags in advance to streamline the sharing process. Don't worry if live replays have different numbers compared to the original live session. There is still value in sharing them. Tag or send the replay to individuals who expressed interest or couldn't attend the live session. Not every live session will be perfect, but that's okay. The important thing is to post the replay and learn from each experience. Pull 4 to 5 quotes from the video to create graphics and cut the video into shorter clips for reels. These clips can be shared on stories and used to answer future inquiries. Practice makes perfect. Instagram has a practice feature that allows users to test the live session before going live for real. Use this to your advantage and keep improving with each live session. Adding live sessions into a well-rounded social media strategy is crucial for boosting engagement and visibility. Remember, authenticity is key. Your audience values the real and genuine you so don't be afraid to show your true self. Going live on social media can be a game-changer for your brand or business. So, why not give it a try? Have you went live? If so, send it to me @iamalicianoelle Don't forget The Sufficiently Social Society is open to podcast listeners only right now so come check it out!

My Favorite Social Media Tools

11/8/2023
Have you ever wondered what tools you should be using for social media? On today’s episode I am sharing my top 4 tools that I recommend for social media. These have been game-changers for me with my content creation. First on my list is Canva! I love Canva for it’s user-friendly interface and amazing design and templates. While Canva does have a free version, I find the paid version to be worth the cost. If you are part of the Sufficiently Social Society, then you have access to my Canva course! Next up is Publer. Publer is my scheduling platform of choice. It is simple to use and I love how it gives you the ability to schedule posts on various platforms such as Facebook, Linkedin, TikTok, and YouTube. It also has an integrated calendar, which includes important dates and trends to stay up to date with. Another tool I really love is Pixi Stock, a membership-based platform for high-quality stock photos, templates, and now stock videos. The diversity of the stock photos which includes a variety of skin tones and hair textures is something that I love. They also offer courses that can be helpful for social media content creation. Lastly, I want to mention CapCut as one of my favorite tools. It is a unique video editing tool that I find useful for creating those eye-catching videos. I find the free version to be sufficient for what I need. CapCut makes it easy to produce videos that my audience enjoys. I want to encourage you to take a look at these tools and see how they can enhance your content creation process. If you found this content valuable today, make sure that you rate and review the podcast and download it so that you can come back and take a listen later. Remember these tools are essential for anyone looking to build their brand through social media! I would love to hear what tools you are thinking about trying out on Instagram: @iamalicianoelle

Should You Start a Facebook Group?

11/1/2023
Should you start a Facebook group? Is it the next right place for you to be? I am sharing all about Facebook groups on today’s episode! I share the potential of Facebook groups for brands, businesses, and content creators. Over the past few years, Facebook has been focusing on building communities. This is why you are seeing more Facebook groups showing up in your feed more than posts from people that you follow. Facebook groups allow for deeper conversations and engagement with your audience. It allows you to really engage with your audience on a more personal level, get feedback, and generate content ideas. I share about the different types of Facebook groups such as business Facebook groups, interest-based Facebook groups, and local community Facebook groups. I share how each of these can really help foster that sense of community and build that like, know, and trust factor with an audience. Something I want you to consider when it comes to your Facebook group is managing spam filters and moderation. Regularly check your spam filters to make sure that legitimate comments are not being blocked and make sure that your trusted moderators know your rules for the group to make sure that appropriate engagement is happening. It’s important to keep consistent engagement within your group. If you have been inactive for a while and your group is shifting, make sure you are transparent with your group members and tell them share with them how the group is shifting and how you would love them to stay but understand if the content shift isn’t for them. Focus on attracting new members and fostering a community where regular posts and conversations are happening. Having a clear purpose and guidelines for the group, as well as making sure that the group is searchable and specific (and not too long), can really attract your right audience. Make sure that you are creating engaging content such as polls and Q&A sessions to keep the group active and interesting. Promote the group on other platforms to attract new members as well! As I prepare to relaunch my own Facebook group, I want you to consider if a Facebook group could be beneficial to your business or brand. It’s a powerful tool for building community, engaging with your audience, and promoting your products or services. Let me know the name of your Facebook group or whether you are thinking of starting one in a DM on Instagram: @iamalicianoelle Join us in the Sufficiently Social Society!

Decluttering Your Social Media

10/25/2023
In this episode, I want to talk with you about something that’s important — decluttering your social media. I've personally experienced the overwhelming feeling of having a pile of videos in my drafts folder, and I can't stress enough the importance of having a clear plan and focus when using social media. It allows you to enjoy the experience of social media and create content authentically. I’m sharing my 3 top tips on decluttering your social media. 1. Unfollow Accounts That No Longer Serve You As creators and business owners, I want you to follow a rule of not following more accounts than those that follow you. Think about how each account makes you feel and only keep those that make you feel valued and connected. 2. Empty Your Drafts Folder Next, empty your drafts folder. Post the content that has been sitting there or delete drafts that no longer resonate with your audience. 3. Archive Irrelevant Posts While it's important to see growth, there may be posts that no longer reflect your brand or image. Archiving allows you to keep a record while ensuring your social media feed accurately reflects your true self. That’s why planning is crucial! By scheduling content in advance, you will have posts going out without feeling stressed. I recommend using a scheduling tool like Publer. Be sure you are thinking ahead on mapping out your holiday offers. Clarity is key. To avoid any confusion, it’s important to map out your holiday offers clearly. You can use e-commerce platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce to make sure that process is seamless while you are taking time off. Promoting offers in advance is a great way build excitement. It’s also important to avoid overwhelming your customers or potential clients on the day of the offer. Balance is key. Capturing MORE Content

10/11/2023
If you are trying to figure out ways to capture content for social media, tune in to today’s episode. I’m sharing valuable tips on capturing MORE content for your brand or business. Make sure that when you are recording content, that you have an up-to-date smartphone with sufficient storage capacity. You want to make sure that you have enough storage on your phone when you go to record. The last thing you want is to have a great opportunity for a video and then you can’t record because you are out of storage. Make sure that you are deleting photos and videos that are unnecessary or regularly transferring special photos or videos to an external hard drive like this one. You can even get one that connects directly to your phone. Clear out app caches and delete downloaded email files to optimize storage on your phone too! I want you to also invest in a mini tripod like this one. You want one that can be easily folded up and that you can even carry in your purse. Tripods help stabilize footage and you want to make sure that your videos are clear, stable, and professional, not shaky. Another thing to thing I want to encourage you to do is to overcome your fear of recording content in public. Sometimes this can hold content creators back and I really want you to work on pushing past this fear. You can start in less crowded places, such as a quiet coffee shop or even a hotel lobby to build your confidence or you can find a “content bestie” to shoot with! Another tip I have is to record small clips throughout the day to really capture those authentic moments in your day. These clips can then be used as b-roll footage to make content more engaging on social media. You can set alarms on your phone throughout the day to record 10 seconds of what you are doing in that moment to be used later. If you have ever wondered how to get even more content in order to post on social media, this episode is for you! Join the Sufficiently Social Society! I am offering a special offer for my listeners! Can They Trust You?

10/4/2023
Today I’m discussing a topic that is crucial for anyone building an online business or brand — the importance of trust and credibility. When thinking about building your brand I want you to remember that the key to standing out in the online space is authenticity. I cannot stress enough the importance of showing up as your true self and letting your unique identity shine to really engage with your audience. Your social media profiles and branding play a significant role in building trust. First impressions matter, so ask yourself: does my online presence make people want to know more about what I have to offer? Letting your audience get to know your voice and personality is another crucial aspect of building that trust. Going live on Instagram allows your audience to see the behind-the-scenes process and understand that you're a real person, not just a social media facade. When it comes to content, focus on providing quality information rather than just quantity. For instance, a virtual assistant who only pitches their services without explaining the true transformation that can occur by using their services is missing an opportunity to build trust and establish themselves as an expert in their field. Social proof and testimonials are powerful tools for building credibility. Showing the results and transformations that others have experienced by working with you can help build trust with potential clients or customers. I always encourage my Instagram audience to engage with me and ask questions and this helps to build a relationship and further establish trust. Handling negative feedback and mistakes is another important aspect of building trust. Addressing mistakes quickly and apologizing if necessary is key. It's also important to be inclusive and accept people with different beliefs and perspectives. When it comes to negative comments, delete and block them to keep a positive online space. However, if it's negative feedback about a product or service that you have, it's best to address it head-on. Building trust and credibility in the digital world doesn’t have to be hard. By being authentic, providing valuable content, and handling feedback appropriately, you can establish a strong online presence that truly resonates with your audience. I hope you found this episode helpful and I really look forward to hearing your feedback! Don’t forget to share this episode with a friend and apply these strategies to your online business or brand! Managing Stress from Social Media

9/27/2023
Does social media sometimes leave you feeling stressed? Today’s episode is for you! I’m discussing ways to manage stress from social media and my three tips to step away from the burnout that can happen from social media! My first tip I have for you is to step away from burnout culture. It’s so easy to get caught up in the constant online presence which can lead to burnout fast. The pressure that we have as business owners to constantly show up online can be overwhelming and may make you feel like quitting. I suggest you schedule posts in advance and create a schedule for your online presence. Limit notifications and also know that it’s okay to say “no”. Remember to take time for yourself and have boundaries around when you are online. My second tip to manage social media stress is to stop comparing yourself to others. It’s so easy to look at others — their follower counts, their accomplishments and feel inadequate. You are on your own unique journey. If you are feeling negative emotions around certain accounts, I recommend unfollowing or muting them. Focus n your own personal growth and your own progress. Don’t forget to celebrate how far you have come and the great things you are doing! I even recommend tracking your progress and taking screenshots of insights every month to help you see just how far you have come. Another strategy that you can use to avoid social media stress is learning to create content that you prefer! Creating content should not be a stressful process. When you focus on what you enjoy and what your audience likes, you can show up authentically as yourself which helps to manage social media stress. If you are feeling stuck with creating content or want to be a part of a community of like-minded women who are learning from me and from each other, I am offering a special offer for my listeners to join The Sufficiently Social Society! Go to www.iamalicianoelle.com/society to join! Thanks for listening! Let me know if you found this episode helpful on Instagram: @iamalicianoelle. Chat with you more there! Creating Your Lead Magnet

9/20/2023
Are you using lead magnets in your business? Today, I want to talk about something that’s essential for anyone looking to grow their brand or business -- creating a lead magnet. So, what exactly is a lead magnet? It’s a marketing tool that offers valuable content or services to potential clients in exchange for their contact information. The main goal of a lead magnet is to encourage your target audience to engage with your brand and enter your sales funnel. This ultimately leads them back to your email list which is crucial to have when building your business because it gives you ownership and control over your audience. But, lead magnets are also not just about collecting email addresses. They can also showcase your expertise and demonstrate the value that you can bring to your audience. Think about specific problems that you can solve for your audience and create lead magnets that address those issues. I give you some examples in today’s episode including some of my own such as my banned hashtags on Instagram in 2023! The KEY to any lead magnet is to provide value and be easily accessible to your audience. Lead magnets should be easy to digest and offer quick wins for the audience, making them more likely to engage with your brand in the future. Creating a lead magnet doesn't have to be overwhelming! Here are some quick and actionable ideas: Checklists or Cheat Sheets: Templates and Frameworks:E-books or Guides: Video Tutorials and Webinars:Free Trials or Samples: Once you've created your lead magnet, it's important to promote it. Place it on your website as a pop-up, header, or footer, and promote it on social media platforms. Instead of directly promoting the lead magnet, use the topic of the lead magnet in your social media posts and direct people to your link in bio. It can also be mentioned in blog posts or when guesting on podcasts. Offering something unrelated to what your audience actually wants can lead to a lack of interest and engagement. Attract the right people to your email list, those who are genuinely interested in your offerings and likely to become clients. If you are needing help creating your lead magnet, check out my template here AND be sure to check out the Sufficiently Social Society where you can receive more help from me and the community in creating your lead magnets. You’ll also get access to all previous trainings that we have had! (You can get a special discount for being a listener here!) Remember, the power of a lead magnet lies in it’s ability to attract, engage, and convert your target audience! Thanks for listening! How to Find Your Niche

9/13/2023
Welcome back to another episode of the Sufficiently Social Podcast! Today, I want to talk about how to find your niche. It’s so important to choose a niche that aligns with your own interests and values, because this will help you create content that you are truly passionate about. Think about it this way: If you were given 30 minutes to talk about anything without preparation, what would you choose? This is likely something you're passionate about and already knowledgeable in. It could be anything from sharing your experiences as a mom to talking about your fishing adventures. The key is to choose a niche that brings you joy. I've come up with three journal prompts to help you: 1. If you could get paid to do and talk about anything for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? 2. If money was not an issue, what would you pursue and why? 3. What were your happiest moments in life and why? Take some time to reflect on these prompts. They will help you identify the topics you enjoy and want to create content around! Once you've identified your potential niche, it's time to conduct some market research. Websites like Answer the Public and Quora are excellent resources for gathering information about the questions and topics people are interested in within your niche. Don't forget to explore magazines related to your target audience or industry. They often provide insights into popular topics and trends. Facebook groups are another valuable source of information. They can give you a glimpse into what people are asking and discussing within specific niches. Finding your niche is not a one-time event. It's a process that involves experimenting and testing different types of content to see what resonates with your audience. Remember, your focus should be on serving and engaging with your audience! If you need help navigating the challenges of finding and growing your niche, consider joining The Sufficiently Social Society. It's a learning platform where I provide deeper strategies and one-on-one experiences to help content creators like you. Thank you for tuning in to this episode!
