What's God Got To Do With It? The Neuroscience of Silencing the Food Noise (Invite God In To Rewire your Food-Seeking Circuit)

2/14/2026
Medications that quiet food noise are everywhere right now. They’re being talked about in doctors’ offices, on social media, and in conversations between women who are just desperate for some peace around food. So instead of approaching this topic with judgment, fear, or extremes, let’s have an honest, transparent conversation about what’s really happening in the brain—and what actually leads to lasting change. Ozempic might be quieting the food noise for some women, but what happens when the medication wears off, the weight comes back, or the brain circuits underneath remain untouched? In this episode, Leanne Ellington dives into what she calls the brain-based effect—a natural, sustainable way to quiet the food noise by working WITH your brain’s built-in circuitry for peace, safety, and self-control. This episode isn’t here to judge the medication—or debate whether you should or shouldn’t take it. We’re not here to talk about the pill. We’re here to talk about the pattern. Because no matter how the food noise gets quieted… if you don’t rewire what’s underneath, it’s just a temporary fix. Inside, Leanne breaks down: - The exact brain circuits that drive food obsession—and how emotional eating, cravings, and compulsive thoughts are wired in neurologically (not rooted in a lack of discipline) - Why medications like Ozempic can temporarily turn down the “food noise”… but don’t rewire the deeper brain loops causing it in the first place - How to create a natural effect in your brain by calming your nervous system, retraining your emotional coping patterns, and rewiring the food-seeking circuit—for good This episode blends cutting-edge brain science with Spirit-led truth—and gives you a roadmap to heal your brain, reclaim your peace, and end the war with food once and for all. Because when your brain is rewired for truth… the noise finally goes quiet. 2/13/2026

It’s unexpected and not at all intuitive but I think it just might be the way forward. Can you soften in the face of this uncertainty? Guilt After Growth, Staying Steady When You Cry Easily & Avoiding Anger (Couch Talks)

2/12/2026
First up is an email from a husband, who’s on the other side of early therapy and discovering something not talked about enough: the guilt and regret that can show up after self-awareness. Amy and Kat talk through the emotional J-curve of growth, why feeling worse can actually mean you’re healing, and how to hold accountability without getting stuck in shame. The second email is from an empathetic mom navigating a high-conflict co-parenting situation and the fear of going back to court. She asks the question so many people silently carry: How do I stay steady when I cry under pressure? Kat gives tips on how to ground yourself when your nervous system wants to take over. Also, discussed in this episode is avoiding the feeling of anger, book recommendations (Theo of Golden) and more. Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! 5 Things to Say Instead of “It Will Be Okay” (Hint: Bring Cookies, Not Advice)

2/10/2026
When life feels loud and uncertain, “it will be okay” doesn’t always help. Amy and Kat talk about how to show up without fixing, why validation matters, and what real support looks like. They also share what they’re feeling of the day, what they're reading and watching, including immersion reading and a perimenopause documentary that sparked a conversation about hormones, relationships, and why everything can feel turned way up. Amy reflects on her divorce, what perimenopause may (or may not) have influenced, and why understanding your body matters. Plus, a heartfelt voicemail from a listener in Alberta reminds them why the randomness, laughter, and everyday conversations matter...especially in hard seasons. 5 Things to Say Instead of “It Will Be Okay”: 1. “Gosh, this sounds hard.” Lead with validation instead of solutions. Naming how difficult something feels helps people feel seen rather than fixed. 2. “What do you need from me right now?” Before giving advice, check in. Sometimes people want help, sometimes they just want to be heard...and they may not even know yet. 3. “Sounds like you’re having a very human reaction.” Normalize their response. Fear, anger, sadness, and overwhelm are often appropriate reactions...not signs something is wrong with them. 4. “I don’t know the right thing to say, but I’m here.” Be honest and present. You don’t need the perfect words to offer support...your presence matters more than certainty. 5. “I’m bringing you over cookies.” When asking what someone needs feels like too much, take the guesswork out and do something tangible. Care doesn’t have to be complicated. Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! (FeelingThingsPodcast.com) Sign up for the Feeling Things newsletter HERE! Watch us on Youtube HERE! Write Your Story: Where Book Ideas Really Come From

2/8/2026
You might think that when you sit down to write a book, you use mostly your brain, your intellect, or your thoughts to concoct the perfect argument, the most interesting story. I believe there’s more to it than that. I’ve written 14 books and helped hundreds of authors write, edit and publish their works and I’ve witnessed an invisible and inexplicable x factor responsible not only for bringing the idea to you, but also for growing that idea to fruition. While I don’t know how to name this “x factor” or to define it, I have experienced it again and again and can’t imagine writing a book without it. If you have a book you’re meant to write, maybe you don’t need to be “smart enough” or “good enough” to make it happen. Maybe all you need is to listen closely to what this “x factor” is trying to say. Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What's God Got To Do With It?: The Spiritual Cost of Food and Body Fixation

2/7/2026
You think your struggle with food is about willpower. Or that your body image issues are just about confidence. But what if the real cost isn’t on the scale, but it’s actually in your spirit? In this powerful episode, Leanne Ellington pulls back the curtain on what food and body obsession is really stealing from you. From missed moments with your kids to constant inner criticism and spiritual disconnection, she exposes how fixation around food and your body hijacks your peace, your presence, and your identity. But this isn’t just about the pain. It’s about the pathway to healing. Leanne reveals how your brain was designed by God to heal, and introduces the science behind how that healing actually happens—through identity rewiring, spiritual renewal, and working WITH your brain instead of against it. This episode will help you: - Understand how food and body obsession hijacks your God-given peace, rewires your brain for fear and shame, and drains your spiritual bandwidth - Finally put words to the invisible war you’ve been fighting—between your faith and your fixation, your logic and your longings - See why white-knuckling through cravings or repeating “I love my body” in the mirror won’t work if your nervous system still feels unsafe—and what to do instead to rewire it at the root Because God doesn’t just want your body free. He wants you free. Soul Sessions: The Moment That Changes Everything (Saturn & Neptune in Aries)

2/6/2026
On February 20th, we hit a historic threshold. As Saturn and Neptune conjunct at the Zero Point of Aries, the cosmic "fog" of the last few years is finally lifting—but it’s leaving us with a heavy ultimatum: Your intentions are no longer enough. Since 2023, many of us have been swimming in the "Pisces soup"—dealing with exhaustion, escapism, and the loud whispers of the subconscious. We’ve had the dreams, but perhaps not the infrastructure. That ends now. As the planet of structure (Saturn) meets the planet of mysticism (Neptune) at the beginning of the zodiac, the universe is demanding Aligned Action. In this episode/video, we dive deep into: The 0° Aries Significance:From 2012 to Today:The Death of the Fantasy:The Shadow Side:The Spiritual Warrior: The Question for This New Era: If someone had X-ray vision into your soul, would your external life match your internal truth? It’s time to marry your intention with initiation. Midlife Crisis or Just Feeling Meh? (Couch Talks)

2/5/2026
Amy and Kat respond to a listener who’s feeling...meh. Life looks great on paper: the house, the kids, the routines, but something feels stuck. Is it an early midlife crisis or just part of being in your 30s? The girls talk about how even a beautiful life can feel a little uninspired sometimes, why that’s totally normal, and how to start creating a spark instead of waiting for one to show up. Meeting Ourselves Where We Are (F-Bombs and Feelings)

2/3/2026
Feeling “blah”? You’re not alone. Good news, though? This episode is funny! Kat and Amy dive into everything from rage showers (yep, they’re real) to treadmill meltdowns and the odd debate of “zero” vs “oh” when saying numbers. But the real kicker: can swearing actually make you more authentic? Kat breaks down the surprising psychology behind profanity, and why dropping an f-bomb might say more about your honesty than your manners. It’s a messy and unexpectedly insightful ride through emotion, language, and laughter. Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! What's God Got To Do With It?: From Theory to Transformation: Becoming Your Own Surgeon

2/1/2026
In this final part of the series, Dr. Warren brings it all together — turning the science, the faith, and the commandments into a daily, livable, empowering practice. He shares how hope is the first dose, but action is the medicine. How transformation isn’t an event, but a series of tiny, faithful choices. And how to become the kind of person who notices, names, and rewires thoughts in real time—right in the middle of stress, uncertainty, fear, and life happening. This episode is about reclaiming agency… with God as your guide. It’s about partnering with the One who designed your brain for healing. And it’s about stepping into a version of yourself that is clearer, calmer, more grounded, and more connected to God than ever before. Write Your Story: Why Now Is the Time to Start Writing

1/31/2026
From the 14th floor of a hotel room in downtown Nashville while the entire city is under a layer of ice, I send you this not-so-subtle nudge to use your voice. You may have told yourself that you’d write your book “someday,” or that you aren’t a real writer anyway, or that nobody would listen to what you have to say, or that you’d speak up if you had a bigger platform. The truth is that your words are needed now more than ever. Regardless of your politics or life circumstances, the most effective and profound way you can join the revolution of this time is to pick up your pen and become the change you want to see in the world. This is your benediction. Host: Ally Fallon // @allyfallon // allisonfallon.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Guilt of Not Showing Up Like You Used To — Without Owing Everyone Your Whole Story (Couch Talks)

1/29/2026
Amy and Kat respond to a listener who went through a traumatic season that deeply impacted her marriage, friendships, and sense of capacity. While focusing on healing, couples therapy, and an intense grad school program, she pulled back from friends — and now, as she begins to reconnect, she’s carrying guilt for not showing up like she used to. They talk about whether we owe our friends explanations during seasons of survival, and how to navigate friendships that were strained while you were doing the best you could. Together, they explore the balance between honoring your own healing and acknowledging the hurt of others, how to communicate without over-explaining, and how to discern when a friendship needs repair, patience, or a gentle letting go. Things That Aren’t Toxic—Just Uncomfortable

1/27/2026
Amy and Kat check in with two of their feelings (disgusted and eager) before diving into a surprisingly effective (and slightly unsettling) skincare hack involving dandruff shampoo on your face. They unpack the difference between what’s actually toxic and what’s just uncomfortable: someone disagreeing with you, being asked to compromise, feeling guilty after you hurt someone, hearing disappointment, and the kind of conflict that can actually lead to growth (from @therapyforwomen). Then Amy shares an analogy from Dr. Matt Townsend about highly sensitive people and she’s decided that Kat is a low-end-Porsche. Plus: a legit game-changer for protein balls (thank you, One Degree), and book talk (Amy’s reading Book Lovers by Emily Henry). Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! What's God Got To Do With It?: The Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery: A Framework for Healing

1/25/2026
In this episode, Dr. Warren unveils the heartbeat of his work: The Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery — a framework rooted in science, anchored in Scripture, and powerfully practical for everyday life. He walks us through why “Feelings are not facts,” why you can’t change your life without changing your mind first, and why choosing joy is not naïve… but neurologically sound. These commandments aren’t rules — they’re invitations. Invitations to step out of self-sabotage, emotional spirals, and “accidental” thinking, and into the healing God always intended for us. This conversation is one of those rare ones that feels like a wake-up call and a warm embrace at the same time. If you’re ready for clarity, courage, and a blueprint for personal healing, this episode will become one you return to again and again. Compartmentalizing Feelings…Like a Waffle (Couch Talks)

1/22/2026
Amy and Kat read two very different but deeply connected listener emails. The first comes from a new listener sharing a powerful, tender moment she had with her mom shortly before she passed away from cancer. The second email is from a mom preparing to leave her baby for a two-week work trip for the first time ever. She’s wondering how she’s going to get through it. That opens up a conversation about compartmentalizing feelings and how sometimes the only way forward is to put things in their own little spaces…like a waffle. Along the way, Amy and Kat also wander into first podcasts they ever listened to, the difference between a content creator and an influencer, random home and style tangents (including a sweater belt moment and hanging cowboy hats on the wall), and the comfort of letting conversations be a little messy and a little real.
