Promise and Blessing

The results of the survey we posted on End Times show that our listeners are secure in Christ. They do have questions, but are overall secure in their faith. Often times we get caught up in trying to explain the End Times and miss Jesus. The Word of God testifies to Jesus Christ from beginning to end. Jesus shows up in your life and says "Peace. Be still." When you look to Christ he calms the troubled soul.

Today we're going to look at our "End Times Survey". 50% said they think about End Times on a regular basis. And 73% think we are in the End Times. Listen to the archive for all the results. A comment from Mark: "To clarify the question if I would be left behind. I did in the past but not anymore. That was before I had the renewed mind of the new covenant and Jesus Christ living in me."

Worthy Is Christ

Thank you to all the supports who stand with us to get the message out. When you think of the word "prophecy" you need to think about Jesus. In the end prophecy is about him. The world will see Jesus for who he is and will see us for who we are in Christ. Revelation 5 declares that Jesus Christ alone is worthy to open the scroll. "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God"

The Word of Prophecy

9/19/2017
More
The word of prophecy is Jesus Christ. If we're going to have a clear look at the future, we have to look at it through the lens of Jesus Christ. Our conquerer, our king, our lord. The one who will establish his kingdom forever. "And behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His...

What about those who are asleep? 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 "Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. ... Therefore encourage one another with these words."

Am I Forgiven or Not? - Part 2

9/15/2017
More
Are there two different types of forgiveness? The writer of Hebrews proclaims the clear answer - there is only one forgiveness. Hebrews 10 is one of, if not the, most powerful chapters in the Word of God as it relates to the finished work of Jesus Christ. It ties everything together regarding Jesus' sacrifice to take away the sins of the world. The law is only a shadow of the good things coming to us in Christ. Jesus offered himself to establish the new covenant. "By that will, we have been...

Am I Forgiven or Not?

9/8/2017
More
The number one question we have received in 30+ years of ministry is "How can I be sure I am saved?" There are so many confusing teaching in the world among theologians. Is forgiveness judicial or parental forgiveness. Is there a judicial system of forgiveness - Jesus shedding his blood - that is eternal? Is there a parental forgiveness that we need when we mess up? Does our forgiveness hinge on whether we forgive others or not? The gospel does not teach any of those positions. There is not...

The New Covenant Lens

9/7/2017
More
Most of the questions concerning prophecy are motivated by fear. So often that's because we don't understand the "Christ Event" - what happened in the past. The forgiveness we have in Christ and the New Covenant that he ushered in. We can't discern exactly how prophecy will unfold, but we can look forward with hope and assurance. Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant and ushered in the New Covenant.

What Do We Have to Fear?

9/6/2017
More
This month we're looking at prophecy and the one thing we do know is that Jesus is coming back. When we read about future events - the second coming of Christ - we can count on that prophecy. Hebrews 9:27, 28 "Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him."

Fear or Faith

9/5/2017

Our subject for September is Prophecy. Recent events like the solar eclipse and the horrific hurricane along the Gulf Coast have reintroduced a line of thinking that surely these must be signs of God's punishment of the world. Time after time, "prophecy" is used to incite fear-based religious behavior. We will explore prophecy in light of the New Covenant this month. Jesus Christ has fulfilled all prophecy and we do not have to fear his return or look for "signs" of his return. We are...

Do the elements of communion actually become the flesh and blood of Christ? Is that what John 6:53 is saying? Certainly the Catholic religion believes it to be true. This verse is a metaphor of what a life of faith is all about.

His Good, Pleasing, and Perfect Will

We're facing all kinds of trials and tribulations in our life. What do we do in the face of that? Christ Jesus is alive living in us, so we have someone we can trust in this world. In Romans 12:1-3 Paul wrote: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship. ..." As we submit to Christ we will see a transformation that allows us to live in the midst of trials.

The news about the disaster in Houston and all along the Gulf Coast is heartbreaking. We all want to help in some way... if you are feeling led to help in some way, we encourage you to do it. Step out and find a way to be of help. This will be an ongoing need for quite some time. Many will assume that somehow this natural disaster is a punishment of some kind from God. That is faulty theology. Bob calls it a "contract theology". Some people believe what they do (or don't do) constitutes a...
