My visit to the Legislature in Victoria

On this episode, 7-year-old Estella shares her experience visiting the Parliament building in Victoria, BC where she, her family and AutismBC spent the day advocating to the provincial government to put in proper and adequate supports for all kids who have support needs in the province. Estella talks about her experience on that day, the ups and downs and the thrill of taking the ferry for the first time. She also shares the top 3 things she learned on this day: 1. It is important to do the right thing when you are a minister. 2. Keep fighting and never give up. 3. There's always a silver lining even though things seem to not go the right way. Healthy food vs. junk food

Starting my homeschooling journey!

In this 7th episode, 7-year-old Estella talks about how she feels about starting her journey as a homeschool kid. She talks about what it was like doing remote learning last school year because of the pandemic, and how she feels this year as she is about to officially start homeschooling through an online school. This episode provides some great insight for children who are also starting homeschooling for the first time this school year as well as for parents who are thinking about homeschooling for their children. Estella reassures her fellow kids who are also homeschooling for the first time that homeschool can be fun and exciting and can be a very positive experience for them. She carefully thought about what having all this money means and how money is not all about spending for herself and her wants, but it is also about having a sense of responsibility to help others. This is a great "thinking" exercise for children as Estella also asks her listeners to have their own thoughts about what having a million dollar means to them. Estella and her guests talk about how they feel about these important advice and if it is easy or difficult to follow them. They also discuss why they love their parents and what advice they would tell their kids if they become parents one day. This is a really great episode for kids and grown-ups to listen to because kids can learn how to appreciate the advice their parents told them and parents can feel good in knowing that their kids do listen to them especially when it comes to important stuff. "What does that mean?" Kids, do you ever ask your parents what some phrases mean because no matter how much you try to understand what they said, it just doesn't make sense? When you are just about to sing at a recital they tell you to "Break a leg!" OH dear! Who wants to have their leg broken? On this episode, 7-year-old Estella invites her mommy to decode phrases like "piece of cake" and "face the music" and other idioms that grown-ups use which can confuse many kids! Estella hopes that kids can tune-in to this episode so that they can understand more about how grown-ups communicate. This episode can help kids understand about how to use figurative language.
