The third-annual Atlanta Lacrosse Invitational is set for Saturday at Morehouse College's Harvey Stadium, featuring a triple-header or Army-Michigan on the men's side and Boston College-Michigan and Army-Florida State on the women's side. In the Week 0 episode of The Tailgate, Terry Foy and Chief Tailgate Officer Larkin Kemp are live from the New England Youth Lacrosse Convention! They begin by discussing the prudence of scheduling college lacrosse games, then dive into Utah's win at Delaware, Army's performance vs. UMass and Rutgers' overtime dramatics vs. Jacksonville. From there, they roll it back into a preseason podcast, discussing the themes for 2026, their preseason Final Four, champion and Tewaaraton predictions, then are joined by Mass Youth Lacrosse's Lars Kiel to discuss the NEYLC and getting the season started.

Dana Dobbie, one of the legends of Canadian lacrosse and a pioneer across multiple disciplines of the sport, is announcing retirement from her playing career. “We're hanging up the cleats, we're folding up the jersey and we're throwing out that bad word ‘retirement,’” Dobbie said. “But at the same time, I feel like I've given everything I possibly can to the sport as a player. On the heels of being honored at Bronx Lacrosse's annual fundraiser, Chair of the USA Lacrosse Foundation Board and Johns Hopkins alum joins IL's Terry Foy to discuss the many different aspects of the sport that he touches, from Team USA's Olympic aspiration to grassroots development, from being the dad of a ’27 who just committed to North Carolina to being a PLL investor and NLL team owner. Around this time every year, dozens of parents of high school prospects ask IL's Terry Foy some version of the question, "How does recruiting work?" In an effort to round out that answer, he's interviewing a series of men's lacrosse coaches about their process, continuing with York head coach Brandon Childs. The first DIII coach Foy has brought on for this series (though Dan Kaplan has previously spoken to Amherst's Sean Woods and Dickinson's Dave Webster on the topic), Childs says he wears four hats in the recruiting space: college coach, club coach, dad and fan. They hit on all four topics, illustrating not just what makes Division III distinct from DI, but his broarder views on the topic.
