What Is LaxGripper? With Founder Rob Kamins
2/18/2026
LaxGripper is not what you think it is.
They are hand grips that go on a lacrosse shaft to help beginner and experienced players learn, develop and master the fundamentals in a simple and more productive way. LaxGrippers guide beginners to proper hand placement and finger positioning on the shaft, so the fingers and palm nestle the handle naturally — eliminating the "death grip" and other grip flaws that frustrate players and undermine skill development from day one.
To learn more, IL's Terry Foy talked to founder Rob Kamins about why and how he developed the product, what he's learned since it's been out in the world and how he thinks it can influence lacrosse's growth.

What (And Who) Is One Play Development?
1/13/2026
Founded by Michael Mabry and John Rothenberger nearly five years ago, One Play Development “saw the brokenness in the youth sports space and an opportunity to serve families and players in a really impactful way.”
They say transformational coaching is at the heart of everything they do and they want to help people get to where they want to be. So, in order to achieve that goal, they tapped former Gonzaga (D.C.) head coach Casey O’Neill, Director of Mental Performance Alec Wortman and Marquette head coach Andrew Stimmel.
Over the past year, One Play has taken a significant step forward, welcoming former Virginia assistant Kip Turner, former Rutgers assistant Eric Seremet, former High Point assistant Pat Tracy, former Hampton head coach Chazz Woodson, former Denver assistant Trevor Tierney, former Virginia Tech and William & Mary Head Coach Brooke Ireland, current PLL Whipsnakes midfielder Roman Puglise and development specialists Mugs Mickum and Dr. Abby Latona.
To learn more about what One Play is, Mabry, O'Neill, Stimmel and Turner join the IL Podcast to discuss.

How Recruiting Works with York's Brandon Childs
10/3/2025
Around this time every year, dozens of parents of high school prospects ask IL's Terry Foy some version of the question, "How does recruiting work?"
In an effort to round out that answer, he's interviewing a series of men's lacrosse coaches about their process, continuing with York head coach Brandon Childs.
The first DIII coach Foy has brought on for this series (though Dan Kaplan has previously spoken to Amherst's Sean Woods and Dickinson's Dave Webster on the topic), Childs says he wears four hats in the recruiting space: college coach, club coach, dad and fan. They hit on all four topics, illustrating not just what makes Division III distinct from DI, but his broarder views on the topic.
