A Little pregnancy and Life update. A few weeks ago we had a pregnancy scare and almost had our baby early due to my blood pressure sky rocking to 160/110 and then 139/106. We also had to surrender to the fact that I wasn't going to experience a baby shower with this pregnancy as well due to all the crazyness that has been happening with in our family. I wanted to touch base on something I found interesting once I went on social media and saw the mob mentality went after Josh Peck after the Quiet on Set Documentary was released. From an outsider looking in it seems that insecurities, casting roles and grooming lead Drake and Josh pinned against each other. Even though Josh may have not been groomed sexually he was in fact groomed by Dan and in some weird way mirrored Dan as the "Fat Funny Kid" while Drake was the "Cool Hot Guy". I go into detail about what grooming is and how the quiet on set shows how not only do predators groom their victims, but they groom those around them into thinking their behavior is "normal". I also share pieces of my story and how it relates to this documentary and how the power dynamic that is used in order to force people to submitting to the predator. Sometimes victims repeat the cycle and become the predator in order to "take back the power" and that is shown in the "Quiet on Set" Documentary with Drake Bell's story. I have pushed this episode back for months now, but I think I am finally ready to open up and release this episode. As my daughter grows older and is starting to become the age I was when I was sexually assaulted it has started shifting into a shadow and trigger of mine. Her personality reminds me of who I was at her age and how innocent she is; to think that was all taken from me at her age is crazy. April is sexual assault awareness month. This month I will share some shadows that have come up in the past few months that pertain to my own sexual abuse experience. I will also talk about the documentary Quiet on set which is a documentary about the dark underbelly of Hollywood and child exploitation. I understand this can be a dark topic to listen to as well as relive if you yourself have been sexually assaulted. If you need to skip this whole month of listening, then I absolutely understand. Trust and Surrender has been a big shadow and lesson period for me lately and with this big news we had and wanted to share this understanding of having to trust the flow of life and surrender to unknown fears has been a huge part of this journey. I wanted this episode to be "Surprise " we bought a house but instead it's not at all instead what I have learned through the home buying process is how the emotional wave works in others and how it can affect those around while also watching the fear of the unknown sneak into this experience. I got to watch people around me while I became vulnerable because I HAD NO CONTROL over it all. All I could do was sit back and watch it all unfold. Manipulation and lies can break any strong foundation of any relationship. But I have a question for you all.... is withholding information until you are ready manipulation and a lie? When navigating a marriage with someone who has an addictive personality and an addiction the first lesson you must learn is that no matter what you say or do to "convince them" to stop they must want it for themselves before they can ever hear your pleas. It took 11 years for my marriage to transcend to the beginning of our happily ever after. Valentines' day used to be a dull holiday a "hallmark holiday" until it wasn't for me. After years of trying to figure it out I realized that love isn't just a one-day thing. It's an everyday thing. when we pour not only into ourselves but our relationships everyday this one day out of the year doesn't matter. So many relationships depend on this one day because they forget to pour into themselves and their relationships and when this day disappoints them, they take it as a sign of something more. 2 weeks ago my husband and I made an adult decision and with that came up a lot of shadows and triggers for me. I am a people pleaser and especially when it comes to looking for validation through the eyes of my parents. After a month of waiting, we finally got our blood test results back, with this extra time the universe gave us it allowed us to really talk about our live with a child with the possibility of having cystic fibrosis. As I opened up my treasure chest full of old ornaments I started to think about holiday traditions and if as a family we have any. I then started to think with this baby coming what is the holidays going to look like for us... Are we going to start doing our own thing as a nuclear family or are we going to keep the traditions of going to a family members home?
