Summer is the time for indulgence, and what better way to kick back relax and indulge than with a little help from some very good friends of yours and ours–the Grateful Dead. Jerry-pandering seeks to pander to the secret inner-deadhead you perhaps did or didn’t even know you possessed through a sunshine-daydream exploration of all things jam related. From its diverse roots in folk, bluegrass, jazz, and blues, to its formation during the acid-drenched head-tests of ’66 Haight-Ashbury, and on into its bright, dayglow future (complete with trip-hop, ska-jams, and Vermont’s own–Phish), jam music occupies a distinctly American shelf in the closet of tunage. So let the skeletons out, as we turn on, tune in, and drop out this summer–and indulge.
