On Thursday 2nd January 1969 at 10:30am, Alec Vanags got off the train to Mitcham carrying a large and unwieldy cardboard box, which weighing 12lbs or 5.4kgs, roughly the same as a sack of spuds. His suit was unusually scruffy and his hands were covered in dirt, and with his back starting to hurt, he went to the storage lockers, popped in a shilling, and into Locker 424, he placed the box. Inside was hidden the decapitated head of his girlfriend, Nora. But why?
