Description:

Comedian Christie Campagna and Clinical Chaplain Marni Martin talk life, death and everything in between. With an emphasis on grief they shed some light on how to recognize it, understand it, embrace it and how to come through the other side of it. With a little raw and dark humor at times...these two are able to touch on serious topics and help listeners see that grief is a normal emotion which requires a level of vulnerability. Grief is not to be brushed under the rug and it certainly is not an emotion we need to apologize for. It requires a level of openness and connection that most would rather hide from. Christie and Marni want you to go from hiding to healing as they encourage you with their light hearted phrase "Get naked and feel your grief".

EP. 7 CAREGIVERS: Are You Prepared to Care?

5/6/2024
Send us a text (Disclaimer: May contain explicit language at times. Please Lord forgive us.) Comedian Christie Campagna and Clinical Chaplain Marni Martin talk life, death and everything in between. "Two things need to happen to make you a better human being. The first would be everbody needs to be a waitress or a waiter and the second thing would be to be with somebody who is dying." ~Marni Martin Are you a Caregiver? Are you caring for a loved one as they prepare to leave this world and enter the next? Are you prepared? This is one of the most difficult challenges one may take on and yet one of the most important. In this episode Christie shares a bit of her recent experience caring for a loved one as Marni asks tough questions that anyone in this position should be asking themselves. Are you listening to your loved one? Are you honoring what THEY need or what YOU want? Are they depressed or are they experiencing sadness? Depression is a clinical term...also sadness is a normal response. Understanding the difference will help determine the level of care. (This is in no way medical advice, we always reccommend reaching out to someone from your Hospice team for advice.) Marni sheds light on the physical as well as mental difficulties this has on everyone involved. From physically moving a patient to undetermined timelines and the overwhelming feelig of guilt that often comes with the process. Caregiving can be difficult with a group of loved ones and may create more anxiety and tension when not handled correctly. It is imperative that we be mindful of our energy as the unknown unfolds. If you are caring for a loved one in hospice remember, be kind to yourself, take it day by day, moment by moment and remember... IT'S A PROCESS NOT AN EVENT. Once your loved one has pased ask yourself: What is healling to you? and Where are you connected to the one you love? We pray this episode brings you peace in this difficult time. It is ok to feel your feelings. IMPERATIVE in fact! It is always ok to hide as long as you remember... you are on your way to healing. As always, we love you and remember to GET NAKED AND FEEL YOUR GRIEF! Support the show

EP.6 What past trauma is holding YOU back?

2/12/2024
Send us a text (Disclaimer: May contain explicit language at times. Please Lord forgive us.) Comedian Christie Campagna and Clinical Chaplain Marni Martin talk life, death and everything in between. "CHOOSING FROM A PLACE OF THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF CONSCIOUSNESS LEADS TO INFINITE POSSIBILITIES!" ~Marni Martin The topic was supposed to be break ups, but we got much MUCH deeper! This episode turned into a free therapy session for Christie and prompts the questions for us all: Will you catch the stress before it turns into diseasement? And if you do, will you choose an out that makes you feel safe in the moment, but worse in the long run? How do you manage your stress? Do you run from your problems? Are you running from your greatness? Where and when did it all start? Are you’re ready to face it head on? Are you ready to ask and answer the tough questions? Is it a mid life crisis or are you dealing with past traumas? Maybe just maybe you don’t have to do it all on your own. In this episode Marni helps Christie pinpoint a specific behavior pattern and takes her back to a time when a decision was made to find out where the pattern of belief started. As they break it down step by step... Christie is faced with some difficult truths as she begrudgingly goes from hiding to healing. “Be connected to your compass and trust your compass will guide you. You have to put in the coordinates. And the coordinates are what is it that I think? and how do I feel? That discerns where the destination’s gonna take you." ~Marni Martin Side note: Don’t ever be afraid to go for your dreams just do it in a manner where you are actually being productive. Are you creating from a life-affirming space or from a space of survival? That my friends determines the destination. Enjoy and remember to "GET NAKED AND FEEL YOUR GRIEF"! Support the show

Send us a text (Disclaimer: May contain explicit language at times. Please Lord forgive us.) Comedian Christie Campagna and Clinical Chaplain Marni Martin talk life, death and everything in between. Hang with us in this episode as we discuss death, dating and healing....all while asking the questions....Who are we?...And ARE we screwed? Marni explains the importance of making someone else's funeral about you and opens our eyes to the fact that someone else's death can teach US about living. We breath live into the statement "living WHILE dying" and shed light on why we should make good choices as we are living in "the body that went to the morgue." We learn that listening with an open heart helps to lift people out of grief. Are you trying to fix or are you listening? If you are trying to fix something ....is it coming from a place of control, fear or the unknown? We touch on feeling less than, the importance of speaking your truth, and how only YOU can create YOUR freedom. Ask yourself, are you in a safe place to be authentically who you are? Are you willing to do the work to get to possibility? "If you want to awaken the greatness that lives within you then participate with the power and the presence that LIVES within you." -Marni Martin We pray this episode helps you to release those you've lost, lift those you love and create the freedom that you deserve. EP.1 What is Hospice and who qualifies?

9/12/2022
Send us a text (Disclaimer: May contain explicit language at times. Please Lord forgive us.) Comedian Christie Campagna and Clinical Chaplain Marni Martin talk life, death and everything in between. Welcome to the very first episode of Naked Grief. We turned on the mics with the intention of testing the very limited gear we had and to experiment with the programs we would be using to record. With an idea of grief in mind and absolutely no pre-planned road map we just started talking. Once you get Reverend Marni Martin going it becomes impossible to stop listening and leaves you captivated and wanting more. We felt it would be a shame to keep this valuable information to ourselves so we decided to share with you what came of our very off-the-cuff and unexpected "podcast practice round". In this episode we talk Hospice, regret, and what it means to take a Spiritual Inventory. Marni talks the process of dying and the idea of getting out of this life alive. We pray this episode offers insight for you and for the ones you love! Enjoy and remember to "GET NAKED AND FEEL YOUR GRIEF"! Support the show
