Summer Heat Volume 2: The Summer’s HOTTEST Club Bangers

This summer? Not so much. Last year, Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso filled that role perfectly, becoming the go-to anthem from beach parties to TikTok reels. Her label clearly hoped Manchild would repeat the success, but while catchy, it never caught fire in quite the same way. Even with an impressive batch of bootleg remixes (some of them excellent), it didn’t fit the overall mood of this mix and was subsequently dropped. How We’re Consuming Dance Music in 2025 As I’ve mentioned before, people aren’t just relying on traditional radio anymore. Music discovery is happening everywhere—Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, and countless other platforms. For the current generation, the club scene feels fractured, with most of the real momentum happening at massive EDM festivals. Having moved to the suburbs and living in a dry county, I’m admittedly far removed from it these days, but even from a distance it’s clear the club culture isn’t what it once was. Dance music itself isn’t dead—it’s just shifting in how people experience it. Diversity Defines Summer Heat One thing that stands out across our Summer Heat 2025 mixes is the sheer variety. Unlike years past when a couple of styles dominated, the sound is now wide open. That diversity raises the difficulty factor when building seamless sets. Take Afro House, for example. It had its hot minute, but it’s better suited for chill sets than high-energy dance floors. Transitioning from 120 BPM to 128 BPM can feel clunky without chopping tracks, and we’ve never been about jarring cuts just to get from one song to the next. Party Favorz is all about creating a musical journey, where each transition feels intentional. We may not hit perfection every time, but we get pretty damn close. What You’ll Hear in Volume 2 Volume 2 is packed with the latest summer dance songs, club anthems, and fresh remixes that define the season. Alongside those are perennial dance classics resurrected through mashups and bootlegs—the kind of surprises long-time listeners expect from this series. I do want to clear something up, though. The opener, Heartbreak Melody by Alan Walker and FAANGS, has been making waves on TikTok, with one viral video calling it an “80s classic.” Let’s get this straight: it’s not from the 80s. The track samples Be My Lover by La Bouche, a massive 90s Eurodance anthem. That song didn’t just dominate clubs—it crossed over to mainstream radio,

We’re still squeezing every ray out of the season, so this mix keeps the tempo warm and the basslines friendly. Think sleek Nu Disco, chunky Disco House, and muscular Funky House that refuses to sit down. It’s breezy on top, heavy underneath. It’s exactly what August asks for. Why this volume hits different Beach House 2025 Volume 2 leans into groove, not shock value. You’ll hear shimmering rhythm guitar, rubbery bass, and clap-happy percussion that make everything feel just a little lighter. That’s intentional. Big drops have their place, but this moment favors movement: rolling filters, hand-played keys, and vocals that smile back at you. The result is a set that still bangs at pool level 10, yet works just as well on a twilight drive down the coast. Old feels, new polish A thread of nostalgia runs through the mix—updates of familiar hooks, reimagined disco riffs, and fresh vocals that land like a knowing wink. These aren’t carbon copies. They’re respectful rebuilds with modern low-end, tight edits, and just enough sparkle to cut through today’s systems. That balance—vintage charm with 2025 punch—keeps Beach House 2025 Volume 2 replayable long after the last beach chair folds. Spotlight: Jonas Blue’s “Edge Of Desire” One name you’ll notice here is Jonas Blue. Widely known for radio-ready pop-dance smashes (“Fast Car,” “Perfect Strangers,” “Rise”), he detours toward classic house with “Edge Of Desire”—a collab with Malive released on Defected. That’s a statement in itself: Defected remains a bellwether for groove-forward house, and this cut slides in with syrupy strings, squelchy bass, and a topline that could have lived in a late-’70s A-room—then got turbo-detailed for modern floors. It’s already circulating on key playlists and DJ sets for good reason. WikipediaDefected RecordsSpotify Why it matters now The bigger picture: club music keeps bending back toward disco DNA—hooks, harmony, and human swing. You can draw a line from Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia moment to the surge of feel-good Disco House now powering festivals and day parties. And when artists anchored in the pop-dance lane start delivering records like “Edge Of Desire,” it confirms where the energy is flowing as we wrap 2025’s summer run. VOCAL GIRLS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lACS1E3HQGM The sound of the season Here’s what ties the set together: Nu Disco gloss: satin-smooth synths, octave bass runs, and tucked-in hats that keep the mix gliding. Disco House muscle: loop-driven hooks, stomping kicks,

If you’ve landed here because you were searching for 2010s EDM classics or simply feeling nostalgic for those nights when you were young, fearless, and living for the weekend, you’re in the right place. BackSpin is all about revisiting the most iconic club hits from any given year in the Millennium. We’ve been moving chronologically—starting from 1999—highlighting the tracks that owned the dancefloor and the DJs who made them global sensations. While 2011 and 2012 might not seem that far back, life has changed for many of us. Careers, families, and unexpected twists have reshaped our worlds, but these dance music time capsules can transport you right back to your prime. Whether you were tearing it up in Ibiza, sweating it out at a packed festival, or dancing until sunrise at your favorite club, these songs hit like a rush of pure adrenaline. This era marked the peak of the EDM boom. David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, and Tiësto weren’t just DJs (amongst countless others)—they were architects of the modern EDM sound. Listening to their early 2010s work in past BackSpin volumes reveals the transition from expansive, multi-drop anthems that built anticipation for minutes, to today’s shorter, high-impact remixes designed to hook listeners instantly. Streaming culture rewards the quick hit, but back then, it was all about the journey from the first beat to the final drop. These tracks aren’t just songs—they’re snapshots of the 2011–2012 club scene. They capture the moment when Electro House ruled festivals, dominated radio, and blurred the lines between underground cool and mainstream fame. You’ll hear remixes that still hold up, hooks that still get stuck in your head, and beats that could still pack a dancefloor in seconds. We could talk about this period—and the broader history of EDM and House Music—forever, but the best way to understand its magic is to listen . So, turn it up, get lost in the rhythm, and relive the energy of 2011 and 2012 all over again. Expect Volumes 11 and 12 from this period to drop in early to mid-September, bringing even more EDM favorites and club classics from the era. While the BackSpin series spotlights key two-year periods in dance music culture, it’s by no means the full story. For a deeper year-by-year look, check out our Top Dance Songs of the Year category, where we feature the biggest dance songs from 1996 to today. You’ll also find an extensive back catalog of genre-specific sets under our Dance Classics section, including ’70s & ’80s Disco Classics,

These two whirlwind years marked EDM’s jump from niche festival staple to mainstream juggernaut, thanks to headline makers like David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia. Their success opened the floodgates for pop stars who craved festival-sized drops—and fans who wanted club energy in their earbuds. Guetta, SHM & the EDM Gold Rush David Guetta’s hit-factory formula primed radio for four-on-the-floor beats, but it was Swedish House Mafia’s stadium-grade anthem “Don’t You Worry Child” that proved big-room hooks could rule the Hot 100. Released in September 2012, the track scaled charts on both sides of the Atlantic, cementing Electro House as a pop force and setting a template today’s producers still chase. Rihanna & Calvin Harris: Lightning in a Bottle When Rihanna paired with Calvin Harris on “We Found Love”, the song detonated—ten weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and endless DJ spins. Harris stayed in her orbit with “Where Have You Been,” keeping the singer on dance-floor rotation while boosting his own superstar status. Their combo of emotive vocals and festival-ready synths became EDM’s new blueprint for crossover success. Katy Perry & Ke$ha: Pop Royalty Goes Electro Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream era technically started in 2010, yet its remix packages stretched well into 2012. dancefloor makeovers of “Firework”, The One That Got Away, and “Last Friday Night” guaranteed Perry prime placement in every peak-hour set. Meanwhile, Ke$ha fed party animals with brat-pop bangers like “Blow” and 2012’s “Die Young,” each armed with remix bundles that slammed straight into the dance-charts. Lady Gaga: An Enduring LGBTQ Anthem With “Born This Way”, Gaga delivered a universal call-to-arms wrapped in Electro House armor. Remixers—from Chew Fu and Bimbo Jones to Manhattan Clique and Michael Woods—ensured every LGBTQ+ sub-scene had a tailored version. The result? A gay anthem that moved from Pride parades to prime-time radio without losing an ounce of edge, while becoming a staple in every subsequent Gay Pride celebration. J.Lo Reinvents, Pitbull Dominates Dropped by Epic, Jennifer Lopez landed at Island Def Jam and roared back with “On the Floor”—No. 1 in 30-plus countries. Follow-ups “I’m Into You” and “Papi” proved she wasn’t done. Even Epic tried to cash in on her newfound success, dusting off “Dance Again” from her vault, and yes, it’s still a gem.During the same stretch, Pitbull attached his Miami swagger to every chart contender. “Give Me Everything” with Ne-Yo defined 2011’s summer and turned Mr.

If you're looking for the perfect soundtrack to fuel your summer workouts, pool parties, or rooftop get-togethers — look no further. Since June, Party Favorz has been bringing the fire, hitting every corner of the dance music landscape to keep your days and nights charged with nonstop beats and good vibes. There's been so much dropped lately, it's time to catch our breath as we start work on the next chapter of our BackSpin series — this time focusing on the high-octane era of 2011–2012. We’ve also got a few surprises lined up for August, but we’re keeping things under wraps for now. One of the potential drops hinges on a rework of a beloved track by one of our favorite divas, and we're hoping Dirty Disco will work their magic. Mark's already shown interest, but he’s been touring hard — including a recent stint on a gay cruise — so we’re giving him the space to breathe. This one’s sacred and untouched, so it deserves the proper treatment. Will it happen? You’ll just have to stay tuned. Until the next time...ENJOY! Party Favorz has been working overtime to wrap up as much as possible before the July 4th holiday—and we're dropping Volume 2 of the Summer Throwback Dance Party 2025 a day earlier than expected. This second set is packed with fan favorites, whether they were originally crafted for the dancefloor or not. Each track has been given a remix refresh, making them fit right into your summer celebration. Even better—this volume is loaded with all-new remixes, so there shouldn't be any repeats (but we won't swear on it). I’ve got a full day ahead—heading into Atlanta for a doctor’s appointment, grabbing groceries, and picking up some new fish for our aquarium we had ordered—so I’m keeping this brief. Don’t worry, Volume 3 is still on the way and should drop in the next few days, right before we shift gears into our regular summer fare. Until then, crank up the speakers and have a safe, happy 4th of July! Until the next time...ENJOY! And yes, we’re talking all-ages fun here. If you’re new to this series, Summer Throwback Dance Party is where nostalgia meets the remix. These sets are loaded with classic Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, and Dance hits from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s—songs everyone knows and loves—reimagined for today's dance floor. Some tracks mash two iconic hits into a new experience. Others stay faithful to the original but are given a modern boost. Either way, this is a throwback dance mix with universal appeal that keeps the energy high and the vibes carefree. Old Favorites, New Twists With each release, I aim to bring something fresh—whether through updated remixes or clever mashups—but it’s not always easy to keep track. Block & Crown, GhostMasters, Ghoustbusterz, The Soul Gang, FlashDancers, Disco Gurls... they’ve all been incredibly prolific. Aside from Block & Crown, most of these names are aliases for the same core group of ghost producers who recycle tracks, change titles, and rebrand under different monikers. One week it’s a “new” release. The next, it’s a rehash of something they dropped six months ago under another name. I do my best not to repeat tracks from past volumes, but when the remix is good and the groove is timeless, I say let it ride. At the end of the day, a great jam is still a great jam—especially when you’re trying to get the party started. Volume 1 Is Just the Beginning Since last year’s Fall Throwback Dance Party, the flood of new retro-inspired tracks has been nonstop. There’s been so much quality output that I had enough material for three volumes this go-around. Because of time constraints, I’m rolling out Volume 1 today and plan to drop Volume 2 by Friday. Volume 3? That one’s coming next week. No worries though—between this release and what’s coming later in the week, there’s more than enough fuel to keep your holiday playlist spinning. Mix in previous sets, and you've got hours of nonstop throwback party energy. By the time Volume 3 lands, it’ll feel like it was always part of the plan. One Nation, Under a Groove Whether you’re reliving your high school dance floor days or introducing the younger crowd to some real classics, there’s something for everyone here. From the ’60s (yes, I slipped a few gems in) through the 2000s, this throwback dance party is built to unite generations. These are the songs that made us move then—and still get us hyped now. So go ahead—fire up the grill, crack open a cold one,

What I’ve heard is a scene flooded with well-meaning producers who often sound exactly alike. Tools once locked behind studio doors now sit on every laptop, and the consequence is clear: presets rule, random samples of half-forgotten hits scatter everywhere, and every third track chases the same Afro-House rhythm. Variety exists, but you have to dig deeper than ever to find it. Catch-Up 2025 exists for that very reason. Quantity over quality is wearing thin Party Favorz screens hundreds of promos each week, covering every style under the dance umbrella. The inbox overload means true standouts must punch harder than ever before. When 30 tracks recycle the same kick, bass patch, and “nostalgia” hook, listeners start wondering whether they’re hearing a playlist or a single endlessly looping song. The “biggest dance songs of 2025” must clear a higher bar, yet the supply of fresh ideas keeps shrinking. That sameness forced me to lower the usual entry threshold just to assemble this Catch-Up 2025 mix—and I do not lower bars lightly. A remix masterclass from Lola Young & David Puentez Still, flashes of genius shine. Lola Young’s soulful “Messy” has owned my headphones since January. Early bootlegs skimmed by with polite Future-House padding, fine for playlists but hardly memorable. Then David Puentez arrived. He kept Lola’s raw vocal front and center (even if the verses are a little buried underneath the mix), ratcheted the tension with a snarling synth stab, and slipped in some Stutter House nobody saw coming. The result hits like a confetti cannon on a festival main stage—proof that originality can burn through the noise. This is exactly the mindset the biggest dance songs of 2025 need. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7e13RNXQ7w Streams, stats, and the shrinking spotlight Remember when dance singles pulled 20 million YouTube streams in a week? Now a clip clears 1 million and the industry calls it a “smash.” Much of that traffic moved to Spotify and Apple Music, but pulling numbers is still tougher than ever. Compiling data for Catch-Up 2025 became an exercise in compromise. Lowering stream requirements let slower-burning records claim a slot, and I’m betting some late-season releases will surge before the final Top Dance Songs of 2025 list drops in December. For now, this midpoint snapshot reflects reality—even if reality needs a caffeine shot. John Summit keeps things interesting Credit where it belongs: John Summit refuses to coast.

This afternoon, Washington, D.C. will stage a grand military parade for the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. Tanks, Black Hawk helicopters, and 6,700 soldiers will rumble down Constitution Avenue, turning what began as an anniversary salute into a made-for-TV tribute to the president on his own birthday. Meanwhile, the nation edges toward authoritarianism. Over the past week, masked ICE agents swept through Los Angeles in raids that detained scores of immigrants—many with legal status—stoking fear far beyond the undocumented community. The playbook is familiar: demonize “others,” then expand the target list. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/sen-padilla-says-he-was-forced-ground-handcuffed-during-noem-press-conference-2025-06-12/High-profile confrontations underscore how aggressively the administration punishes dissent. Federal agents forced California Senator Alex Padilla to the ground and hand-cuffed him during a press conference; he was released but not formally arrested. Newark’s mayor, Ras Baraka, was arrested after trying to inspect a new private detention center, and New Jersey Congresswoman LaMonica McIver now faces federal charges for defending him. The crackdown isn’t limited to immigration. Elite universities from Harvard on down are under investigation, broadcasters like CBS and ABC have paid steep settlements after First-Amendment-protected reporting, and law firms viewed as “too liberal” have seen security clearances yanked and federal contracts canceled. Those who complied did so under duress; those who fought back have won some courtroom victories, yet the White House often ignores rulings it dislikes, even from a generally sympathetic Supreme Court. That same Court will soon decide Kennedy v. Braidwood Management, a case that could strip away no-cost coverage for preventive care—including PrEP, cancer screenings, and birth-control prescriptions—for more than 150 million people. If the justices side with Braidwood, insurers could drop these benefits or price them out of reach—an outcome that would hit LGBTQ communities first and hardest. Our relationships, marriages, and hard-won legal protections are again on the line. While extremists ban LGBTQ books and shoehorn sectarian doctrine into public classrooms, we’re asked to trust that we won’t be next. History says otherwise. So as we celebrate Pride for the rest of June, remember what’s at stake. Martin Niemöller’s warning still echoes: First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a socialist.

Pride is here, and while the political landscape may feel unstable and our rights constantly under siege, one truth remains: the LGBTQ community will always find a way to throw a damn good party. Or, as the Scissor Sisters cheekily reminded us, “Let’s Have a Kiki.” Reimagining the Classics Originally, the plan was to freshen up this year’s edition with newer remixes of iconic gay anthems. But after diving headfirst into a sea of fanmade bootlegs — many of which ranged from barely passable to downright unlistenable — I realized that over the years, I had already assembled the best of the best. So, instead of chasing ghosts, I shifted gears and pulled together what I consider to be the most powerful, energetic, and expertly crafted versions of these beloved tracks that had already been immortalized in digital form. The Ultimate Essentials Some songs were no-brainers — standout mixes that continue to dominate queer dancefloors year after year. Others posed a challenge, with multiple excellent interpretations vying for a spot. In those cases, I went with what worked best in the mix and what kept the momentum flowing. Sadly, a few favorites didn’t make the final cut, not because they weren’t worthy, but because they didn’t quite fit this year’s energy. That’s always the hardest part — deciding what to keep and what to let go. In the end, what you’re getting is a tightly crafted experience: essential gay anthems from as far back as the '70s, reinvented with a modern edge that will hit just right for Millennials and Gen Z — and likely give Gen X and Boomers a reason to raise a glittery eyebrow and smile. These aren’t just remixes — they’re reinventions that breathe new life into songs that already had a heartbeat of their own. A Community Effort I want to give a massive shoutout to Hans, who responded to my call for suggestions with enthusiasm and insight. While I already had most of his picks in the archive, and only a couple made the final mix, his contribution helped steer the direction and is greatly appreciated. Hopefully, I did you proud, Hans. World Pride, Doctor’s Orders, and a Delayed Drop World Pride reaches its grand finale this weekend in Washington, D.C., which feels a bit off-kilter since it typically wraps up toward the end of June. I had fully intended to get these sets out much earlier, but between deep diving into remix archives and juggling an endless cycle of doctor’s appointments (check recent posts for that saga), time slipped through my fingers like glitter in a windstorm. What’s Next?

This was not a chill period in dance music—it was a full-throttle takeover. These weren’t just tracks you heard in the club; they were the soundtracks to pre-games, afterparties, breakups, hookups, and everything in between. By this point, Electro House had become the default language of clubland. It didn’t matter if the artist was an underground favorite or a Disney Channel graduate—everyone wanted in on the energy. And with remixers like Dave Audé, Mike Rizzo, Jody den Broeder, and Jump Smokers consistently delivering top-shelf work, the line between pop and club music completely vanished. Remix Culture Was King Let’s be real—some of these tracks hit harder in their remixed versions than the originals ever could. Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” was already slick, but Jump Smokers cranked it up with a glammed-up club version that dominated summer playlists. Christina Aguilera’s “Not Myself Tonight” might’ve been polarizing on radio, but Jody den Broeder turned it into a pulsing floor-filler with an edge. Black Eyed Peas continued their chart domination with “Imma Be” and “Meet Me Halfway,” both of which got remixed within an inch of their lives—one dirty, one dreamy, and both undeniable. And let’s talk about Lady Gaga, who basically lived on the dance charts during this period. You’ll find three of her biggest tracks here—“Bad Romance,” “Paparazzi,” and “Love Game”—all reworked by Dave Audé into high-energy triumphs that left no corner of the dancefloor untouched. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kszwg8u9--w The Rise of Selena Gomez One of the most fascinating shifts during this period was the arrival of Selena Gomez—best known at the time as a squeaky-clean Disney princess. But her early releases with The Scene were smart, polished pop that lent themselves surprisingly well to club remixes. “Round & Round” and “A Year Without Rain” became club favorites thanks to 7th Heaven and Dave Audé, respectively, who transformed them into soaring dance tracks without stripping away her youthful charm. Selena’s transition from Disney darling to legitimate pop artist began here, and the clubs were ready to embrace her. Ke$ha’s Party Nation Also bursting into the scene like a glitter bomb was Ke$ha, whose breakout hit “TiK ToK” became a global party anthem. Fred Falke’s remix gave it just enough disco-drenched sophistication while keeping its messy, rebellious spirit intact. Ke$ha’s arrival signaled a new wave of club pop—raucous, unfiltered,

This installment zeroes in on 2009–2010—two powerhouse years that marked a massive turning point for electronic dance music and the global club scene. By this point, the shimmering dominance of the big room anthems helmed by remix legends like Thunderpuss, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone had begun to fade. Their reign throughout the late '90s and early 2000s had set the standard for peak-hour energy, but by 2009, a new breed of producers began rewriting the rulebook. The Electro House Revolution This was the moment when Electro House officially took center stage. David Guetta broke into the U.S. mainstream and never looked back, while the Swedish House Mafia began building their empire brick by brick. Artists like Bimbo Jones, Jody den Broeder, Wideboys, and Wawa steadily made names for themselves by turning pop into gold—remixing everything from the obvious club fodder to unexpected chart-toppers. Their influence was unmistakable. If their names were attached to a remix, you knew you were in for something massive. What made this shift so monumental is that the remixers became just as famous—if not more so—than the original artists. Guetta and Swedish House Mafia didn’t just fill clubs; they packed stadiums and headlined the very festivals that were just beginning to explode in North America. Electronic music wasn’t just for the underground anymore—it was pop. Commercial Kings of the Club Charts Yet, while Guetta and SHM were scaling the highest heights, others carved out their own niche—less flashy but no less effective. Remix powerhouses like Cahill, Moto Blanco, and Dave Audé were hitting hard and consistently. Their mixes dominated Billboard's Dance Club charts and brought just the right balance of commercial accessibility and dancefloor credibility. Moto Blanco leaned heavily into Disco House—reinventing the genre with crisp, soulful vocals over chugging basslines and glittery synths. Meanwhile, Cahill and Dave Audé turned pop tracks into pure club fuel, often elevating songs far beyond their original versions. These guys weren’t interested in the spotlight—they were all about the sound. And club DJs and promoters knew: if you needed a floor-filler, you grabbed a remix from one of them. Pop Royalty Ascends This stretch also marked a major shift in pop culture, with a new generation of women dominating both the charts and the dancefloor. Rihanna was rising like a phoenix,

Since the original induction, Adele has released her fourth album 30, which spent 30 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard album charts and produced her fourth #1 song on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. In support of the album, Adele announced a Las Vegas residency titled Weekends With Adele that was to run through January to March of 2022. That residency was postponed due to COVID and started later in November of that year. The residency was expanded multiple times for a whoppping 68 dates in total. Since the end of her residency at Casear's Palace in June of 2024, and in July of that same year, Adele revealed that she would be taking an "indefinite" break from music with "no new plans for a album" in the near future. Party Favorz had planned an update to her original induction in 2021, but it was delayed multiple times due to competing projects. It's now finally read to be shared with the rest of our followers. This brings us up to speed just in time for the Spring Edition 2025. I’ll be honest—new releases have been on the lighter side lately. So, to balance the energy, I pulled in a few standout tracks from past editions to round out this set and give it some extra weight. Still Plenty of New Music to Keep the Floor Moving That doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of fire. This edition features fresh tracks and fierce remixes from some of the biggest names in pop and dance. Expect new heat from The Weeknd, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Tate McRae, Lola Young, and the ever-iconic Lady Gaga. One of the standout moments comes courtesy of a killer remix of Beautiful People, the latest collaboration between David Guetta and Sia. These two have a proven track record of club-ready bangers, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Taking a Beat: Upcoming Diva Hall of Fame Entry Next week, I’m planning to take a short break while working on something a bit special—a Diva Hall of Fame reboot for Adele. With the sheer volume of newer remixes that span her entire catalog, it felt like the right time to refresh her entry. Since she’s wrapped up her Las Vegas residency and likely won’t be dropping new material for a while, this gives us a solid stopping point to reflect on her evolution as both a vocalist and a dancefloor muse. I also had Celine Dion in my sights for a reboot, but that’s temporarily on hold. I’m hoping to get Dirty Disco to remix one of her biggest hits—a track that, shockingly, never received an official remix. If he takes it on, that’ll give me the green light to move forward. Recovery Update: The Not-So-Glamorous Reality I want to take a moment to thank everyone for your kind messages and support during my recovery. That said, it’s not going as smoothly—or as quickly—as I had hoped. The painkillers I’ve been prescribed are fine for regular pain, but when it comes to the debridement process (scraping off dead skin, aka those blackened areas from the wound), they’re totally useless. They’ve managed to remove a good chunk already, but it’s slow as hell. Frankly, this should’ve been done when I was in the hospital for six days under anesthesia. Instead, I’m stuck dealing with this now, awake, and under a double dose of pain meds that barely touch the surface. It still hurts like a motherfucker. What really worries me is that this is the longest I’ve ever been on opioids. Dependency is starting to feel way too real. I’m currently trying to find a doctor—though I don’t even know what kind—who can remove the remaining dead ...
