Radio Free Detroit is a 24-hour broadcast entity and podcast network giving a voice to the voiceless by proving training and support to communities using alternative forms of broadcasting. Programming is diverse and non-corporate by members of the community and community organizations. Radio Free Detroit promotes the sale of music from local and national artists that’s easily accessible to listeners. Starting in 2004, Radio Free Detroit offers free programming to satellite radio, secondary HD Radio stations, online radio stations, and community radio stations. Radio Free Detroit provides community organizations and individuals broadcasting opportunities and training under the Local Community Radio Acts where broadcasting resources are limited or not readily available.
