The Level Ground Podcast

This week, we put together a phone interview with my friend Bro. Maicon Resendiz. Maicon, at the time of recording, had just returned from his first trip to Indonesia. Together, we talk about his time on the mission field, How he interacted with the people, the challenges of the mission, personal challenges, and even life lessons he learned while there. Today, we continue our discussion to answer the question, are you really a Christian? What’s the difference in being a religious person from a Christian? And what does it mean when we call ourselves a Christian? Join us as we try to answer this question!

Are you really a Christian? Lets ask ourselves this question. But to come to a conclusion we must first understand, not only what a Christian is, but if were not one, then what are we? What am I? Today in the first part, of a two part episode we try to lay some groundwork. We start with looking at two different views. Atheism vs. Theism. The problems that arise from an athestic outlook, and then compare it to a theistic outlook. To ultimately come to the conclusion that Just because you're a Theist doesn't mean you're a Christian.

A common debate in our culture today, is how we got here. Was it a Big Bang? Is God truly the Creator? Here on The Level Ground Podcast we truly believe in 6 day creation by God the Father. We were honored to sit down with a new friend Bro. Joseph McDonald. Joseph has worked for the Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter, and has also travelled the country doing the work of an evangelist, as well as, teaching Creation. In this episode we cover the basics of creation and why it's important for us, as Christians to nail down our worldview. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!!

Today, we talk with our very first special guest! Bro. Jonathan Martin. He and myself discuss in depth the battles of anxiety in our day to day lives as Christians, how God has worked through that, and how even though someone may have this condition there is still a use for us!! We get a little excited at times and joke together some as well, but ultimately we looked into the Bible for the answers.

Today we step back from the microphone, and let two of my dear friends (Hannah Grindle, and Morgan Caldwell) share with you about their battles with anxiety, depression, and even doubt. It seems like in todays world, society is plagued with mental health issues. As a Christian, sometimes it's hard to work through these things without feeling like something is wrong or like we are not a good enough Christian. That is the point of todays episode is to hear from people just like me and you! Listen to these testimonies and we hope it speaks to your heart!!

For 5 weeks, we've been approaching this subject. Many people (especially young adults and teenagers) Constantly ask the question "What is my purpose?". Today, we hope to answer this question for you. You may try to save the turtles, or save the trees, you may even volunteer at a soup kitchen, but even though these are good acts of kindness you may feel useless. Saying, "I am no use to the church, to my friends, my family, or even to God!". In this episode, we bring to you some great news! You were fearfully and wonderfully made by God, And the moment you were saved He gave you a purpose. We hope this weeks episode will be an encouragement to all of you guys!

One last episode before we jump right into the "ministry given to all". Why hasn't God just wiped us all off the earth? It's all because of one reason... God is love! He has seen the great potential in you His creation and wants the best for you. He's given us all a ministry and a purpose, because of that potential He has seen and because He loves us!!!

Join us this week as we discuss the next piece of building towards our real purpose. Each one of us have been found guilty. Even though we have discussed this guilt multiple times already, the attributes of God shine even in the presence of our shame. His mercy, His disposition that tempers justice is the topic of todays episode. "While we were yet sinners Christ died for us!"

How often do we get rewarded for things when we don't deserve it? Would you be willing to give your worst enemy your most valuable possession? It's impossible for us as humans to fathom such things. God in all His glory (Through His undying grace, mercy and love) saw fit to offer us this free gift. Unmerited, undeserved, and Unearned. Today we barely skim the surface of God's grace.

Today we continue our approach to "the ministry given to all". It's crucial in working towards this subject that we understand the deepness of what happened to us when we were saved. if we understand the importance and the magnitude of the Salvation that was given to us by God through Christ Jesus, then it will add a needed weight to the ministry that has been appointed unto us! Our hope is in the episode this week, you as the listener are encouraged and a fire in rekindled in your heart!

Today society constantly wants to cut out "the middle man" to get the cheapest price. Even in some churches they want to cut out the middle man to lessen the price of sin that we owed. We owed such a debt it required a middle man to take care of the sin we had. That Middle Man was the Lord Jesus Christ!

In the close of this three part series, we cover the scripture inside the Church Covenant. Even though we barely begin to scratch the surface, the verses we cover this week should truly rekindle a fire in us. A fire to work for the church, and to lead the lost to Christ! At the end of the day, in a world that's hungry if the church doesn't reach them someone else will! Let this be a small start to a big change and instead of waiting for someone to make a difference lets be the difference we want to see!!!

After the somewhat of a cliff hanger last week, we dive into the promises we've made with each other as members of the church. The history Church Covenant and how important it was then, as well as today! If we try our best to keep the promises we've made with each other, it will make a huge difference and folks will look to us and want what we have!!

Promises, covenants, oaths, treaties. All of these, if broken, render a certain level of consequences to one party or both! This week, we talk about the promises God has made to us and the promises He made to His people. The importance of them and how if God wasn't just how our world would be changed forever!

So many times as a Christian, we think we're doing good and truly think we're making a difference, When in all reality we have ourselves fooled and leave other people saying "but you ain't bona fide!!". Join us this week on The Level Ground podcast, as we discuss how to be a bona fide Christian. How to ensure our dealings are genuine, sincere, honest, and ultimately in good faith!

Join us this week, in our discussion of Judas Iscariot. Who he was, What he done, ad the impact it had on his life. Then we will apply it to our own lives, to hopefully answer this question... Is the trade really worth it?

This week on The Level Ground Podcast, we look beyond the four walls that we've dedicated for worship. Even though there are beautiful churches and cathedrals across the world, the church isn't man-made but made with spiritual hands. Hopefully this week, we as Christians will be challenged to better ourselves and to work for the advancement of the kingdom of God!
