Radio Aparat is an internet radio station founded in 2016, by the architect Zoran Dmitrovic and experienced media professional Svetlana Djolovic, who is radio's music and editor-in-chief. Radio broadcasts program 24/7 from a garage of an old town house in Belgrade, Serbia. It represents a local version of community radio, therefore meeting the needs and interests of local community, minority groups and independent culture workers. The program is a mix of eclectic music genres and talk shows in different fields - culture, science, lifestyle and comedy - all of which raise awareness about different social, gender and minority issues, sustainability, media literacy and activism in general. Music shows represent an eclectic selection of contemporary, mostly non-mainstream artists and genres ranging from indie rock to jazz, hip-hop, electronic, world music with special support for local and regional music scene. In the past eight years we produced over 110 shows (with over 8100 episodes or over 11 200 hours altogether) that you can listen on our website via Mixcloud. Our hosts, as well as our audience, come from different generations, spanning from those born in the 1950s to 2000s.
