While attending Tennessee State University, he made a name for himself as the party-guy, the club-goer, screaming his signature muddy call until he was the last on the floor. Continuing that course, Reddy found himself facing 15 years in prison for second-degree assault while defending him-self. Reddy, also having a former label mate go to prison for murder, left him feeling his influence should be used for a greater, positive purpose. It was then; year 2004, after the passing of his grandfather that Reddy answered the call he felt to show this generation how to be unashamed for God. Melodic hooks, a steady bass line, and the layered texture of instrumentation are more than a complement to the passionate lyrics of Alreddy Reddy. Having the opportunity to share the stage with various international artists, Reddy can show that his adaptability is as versatile as his style. Contemporary gospel singer Deitrick Haddon, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, served as a pastor and music director at Detroit's Unity Cathedral of Faith. Growing up in a religious household with Bishop Clarence Haddon and Prophetess Joyce Haddon as parents, he delivered his first sermon at the young age of 11. Deitrick Haddon and his Voices of Unity blended secular and spiritual influences, creating a unique "gospel soul" sound. Initially signed with the Tyscot label, their debut in 1995 with "Come Into This House" was followed by "Live the Life" two years later, earning them Gospel Music Workshop of America Excellence Awards. Transitioning to a solo career and joining the Verity label, Haddon released albums like "Lost and Found," the Tim & Bob collaboration "7 Days," and "Church on the Moon." Throughout his career, he continued to push the boundaries of contemporary gospel with releases such as "A Beautiful Soul" and "R.E.D." Haddon gained further recognition through the reality series "Preachers of LA" in the mid-2010s and topped the gospel charts with albums like "Deitrick Haddon's LXW" and "Masterpiece." In 2017, he released a live LP featuring the single "A Billion People" and collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Zaytoven on the 2018 Christmas EP "Greatest Gift." In June 2020, Haddon released the impactful track "I Can't Breathe," addressing George Floyd's death and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. These days, Haddon is busy launching recent music with a new album releasing for his birthday on May 17th. In addition to releasing fresh tracks, Haddon is commencing a radio listening tour initiative in collaboration with Feed the Hungry, with a goal of providing meals for 5,000 individuals. Did you know that in the United States, 100,000 people die from blood clots annually, and 70% of these deaths could have been prevented? Surprisingly, blood clots claim more lives than HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, and motor vehicle accidents combined, surpassing even opioid overdoses. Despite these statistics, the blood clot community lacks federal funding. Each year, 900,000 Americans receive a blood clot diagnosis, with many facing long-term health complications as survivors. Shockingly, studies reveal that less than 10% of Americans can recognize the signs and symptoms of a blood clot. In March, the NBCA will be in Washington DC advocating for funding for The National Blood Clot Education and Awareness Program. This initiative aims to enhance public and healthcare provider awareness about blood clots. It marks the first-ever proposed federal bill addressing this pressing public health issue. Growing in his skills, he began not only to produce but also to engineer his own music. Our Guest Live - 2/21/2024. This episode will feature inspirational music, positive inspirations, and the amazing RAY VERNON, JR. here as our INSPIRATIONAL PERSON OF THE DAY! Ray Vernon is a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, specifically when it comes to solving the challenge of reaching our youth with the message of Christ. Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Ray has been no stranger to the church. In 2013 when he was in ninth grade, Minister R.A ll made the tough choice to forego a traditional high school experience in favor of homeschool, so that he could help his father, Dr. R. A. Vernon, with ministry responsibilities and travel with him as he preached around the world. This also gave him the flexibility to focus on exploring his own gifts. In 2015, at the age of sixteen, he started and spearheaded two key youth ministries at The Word Church. One of those ministries, the Outsiders, has an average weekly attendance of 400+ teenagers from Cleveland and Akron. The ministry had its first conference in 2016 called L.I.T. (Leaders In Training), which drew a crowd of nearly 2,000 people. Ray was the keynote speaker. His young career has been a steady crescendo. During his time as an undergrad student at Ashland University, Ray Vernon co-founded and was President of a campus ministry called, “The Melting Pot,” a Christ-centered organization created to give students a social space to connect with each other, learn about Christ, and express their faith. It started in the lobby of his dorm floor but became the fastest-growing ministry in the college’s history and has the largest attendance of any ministry on campus. Ray Vernon also joined Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity incorporated, Cleveland City wide Pi Chapter on November 2nd, 2019. He has the honor to be the campus charter member at Ashland university. Ray Vernon has received a religion degree with a minor in business management from Ashland University. He is currently furthering his education at Howard University, where he is pursuing his master's degree in Divinity. Ray Vernon continues to position himself to be a ministry disruptor of his generation. As a testament to all his efforts as a youth, Ray Vernon is also the Founder and current CEO of VARR LLC. VARR is a trailblazing Christian platform that is focused around “Telling The Story Of The Gospel!” It delivers authentic church content, church community, and the church connection to its users.
