BenchTalk Episode 31: Leading the Way - Part 2 You Had One Job

1/11/2023
SEASON 6 IS HERE!!!! We’re starting off this season with one great big BANG! BenchTalk Episode 31: Leading the Way - Part 2 You had one job! The ONE JOB Leadersh have is to help their team(s) to be successful. That’s it. A leader is EXPECTED to succeed. A Leader's success is highly dependent on the team they have around them. So wouldn’t it stand to reason that as a Leader, you’re responsible for the success of your team? In this episode, I am really digging into the responsibilities and expectations of a great leader who understands that they have ONE PRIMARY JOB… Unpopular opinion…to create a space where accountability trumps blame. Leadership means many things to many people. In my observations and direct responsibilities, Leadership is more than standing in front of a team of people telling them your vision and the road to the destination. Join me as I walk through real life examples of ineffective leadership and my recommendations on how to combat this with effective action that helps not only you, as the leader, but those around you. Join me in this episode and let’s continue the conversation this season. ************** Connect with Jackie: Website: http://www.jackiemitchellcareerconsulting.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacquelinemitchell IG:http://www.instagram.com/jackiemitchellcc FB: http://www.facebook.com/jackiemitchellcc For more actionable steps and real world solutions on developing as an authentic leader that everyone will want to work with, download our Premium Masterclass - Authentic Leadership: https://bit.ly/jmcclp-leadershipmc FOR THE FIRST 50 PEOPLE $100 OFF Premium Leadership Masterclass discussed in this episode SPECIAL NEW YEAR DISCOUNT LINK https://bit.ly/benchtalk-100

BenchTalk Episode 31: Leading the Way - Part 1 The Impact of Ineffective Leadership

12/16/2022
INEFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP… That’s an easier pill to swallow than saying ‘Bad’ Leadership, I assume. In Episode 31, I’m discussing Leadership effectiveness and its impact on employees. This is Part 1 of this 2 part series. I’m exploring the negative impact ineffective leadership styles have to employees and companies when we have ineffective leadership ‘leading the way’. One phenomenon that keeps coming up is ‘Quiet Quitting’. Are we paying attention to this phenomenon that’s not new, just new in how we identify this behavior or reaction to what I will say is an impact of ineffective leadership. We’ve seen this described as ‘the team has low morale’. Well, let’s take a deeper look at low morale and where it can come from. What role does leadership play in the overall company culture and environment? What impact does this have on employees as a whole? Are we collecting this data? Why not? Employees don’t leave companies. Employees leave bad leaders. This is why leadership is so important to the overall HEALTH of a company. Join me in this episode and let’s start the conversation. ************** Connect with Jackie: Website: http://www.jackiemitchellcareerconsulting.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacquelinemitchell IG:http://www.instagram.com/jackiemitchellcc FB: http://www.facebook.com/jackiemitchellcc For more actionable steps and real world solutions on developing as an authentic leader that everyone will want to work with, download our Premium Masterclass - Authentic Leadership: https://bit.ly/jmcc-lp-leadershipmc

BenchTalk Episode 30: Getting Deep and Going Deep To Get To Change

10/13/2022
Ann Marie’s non-traditional route to change helped her become the woman she is today. Shifting perspective and her internal reality helped change her external reality. What are we telling ourselves? Words have energy. What are we resisting? Let’s get deep… Our key discussion points in this episode are emotions, grief, trauma, life changes, and how to embrace change in every aspect of our lives. Basically you’re sitting in on my personal session :) Dr. Ann explains that the strongest emotion wins and discusses what can be preventing us from changing. She gives strategies on how to reach our goals and how to truly make the change we desire by listening to our bodies and our ‘selves’. She uses an alternative approach in her practice so you can connect with your ‘self’ through hypnosis. (And YES… I asked the question, What is hypnosis and what’s the difference between guided meditation and hypnosis!) I learned so much from this conversation as I opened up about my very personal experiences over this past year. My hope is that you open your hearts and minds to alternative modes of making a change with a different perspective and different point of view. And that my personal experience inspires you to your journey of change. *********************** Dr. Ann Marie Balkanski is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and is the owner at Rapid Realization as well as the host of Rapid Realization Podcast. BenchTalk Episode 27: Permission Granted

8/3/2022
IT'S A NEW SEASON!!! Season 5 is here and I'm super excited for you! Why? Because I have so much in store for you. We're getting even more vulnerable. We're discussing even more deep concepts and topics. We're leaving nothing to chance. We're going to explore and dig and dive and support and take ownership and take responsibility. I'm holding myself accountable and I want you to do the same. This season, we're starting off with probably THE most vulnerable I've been in public. And guess what? I'm totally ok with that... now. It has taken me MONTHS to release this episode BECAUSE it is so vulnerable and exposing. But here's what I know. I know that I am not the only one who has life's challenges. I know that I am not the only one who 'believed' that 'Strong Women' should not show vulnerability. Guess what... that's FALSE. So I'm getting ultra vulnerable here, with you. Because I know someone needs this and someone can relate. Sometimes we look for permission outside of ourselves. And if that's you... PERMISSION GRANTED. In this episode, I'm talking about Doing the Work and really diving into what that phrase means because it's more than a phrase. It's action. It's responsibility. It's awareness. It's vulnerability. Ready to dive in? Ready to hear what's been holding me back? Ready to hear about what I've been up to these past few months (seems more like eternity)? Let's go! ******************* Here are the links I talk about in this episode. BenchTalk Episode 25: It Really Is About The Journey

9/30/2021
Another raw and semi-cut (lol) conversation with one of the most awesome women I have come to know. Chantal Ingerson is the Sr. Managing Partner at InGarzon Media Group. Chantal and I met years back as Senior Program Managers at an organization where we were both working as consultants. Chantal is an amazing woman who has an awesome career path that I wanted to bring to you in this episode. As with all the women I present on this podcast, Chantal’s professional journey has not been a clean cut, clear path, or straight line. She has managed to reinvent herself and make life work for her at any given point. When we reconnected, she blew me away with where she is today… Starting over but not starting over -- reinventing and bringing out her best and utilizing all of the many years of experience and skills to embark on a new venture as an entrepreneur in her marketing agency, InGarzon Media Group. Listen in as we talk about the reinvention of yourself and becoming more authentic and much more yourself in life, in corporate, and finding satisfaction. BenchTalk Episode 23: Satisfaction Fulfillment & Change

7/26/2021
We're talking about FEELINGS. YES FEELINGS!! I'm going to get in your FEELINGS because way too often YOU don't get into your feelings enough to help answer the questions you want answered. That may sound odd coming from someone with my background and it may go against common beliefs on HOW to make decisions for yourself. We neglect FEELINGS way too much. Interestingly though, some of the most successful people I know, myself included, go with their 'gut feelings' when making a decision. Why? Because we trust ourselves. We look externally for answers to the questions we have. It's not until qualified people point out the answer you've always had but didn't want to believe or didn't trust. Join me in this episode for an EMOTIONAL EXERCISE to help you get CLARITY to answers to the questions you're asking yourself about SATISFACTION, FULFILLMENT, and CHANGE. ✔ BRING PAPER AND A PEN ****** And if you enjoyed this exercise and want more guidance on how to have a fulfilling career, please sign up for my FREE TRAINING here: https://www.jackiemitchellcareerconsulting.com/workshop

BenchTalk Episode 20: Stop Overcomplicating Your Growth

4/14/2021
In this episode of BenchTalk, I'm pulling the veil back on how WE overcomplicate going after the things we want. Going after what we want can be scary and challenging at times. But we don't make it any easier when we count ourselves out, self sabotage, and listen to the self doubt and chatter in our heads. In this episode, I'm breaking down the top 9 ways we screw things up for ourselves. Then, after I give you a moment to side eye me because I'm exposing your secrets, I'm giving you the top 5 ways to get out of your own way. Hey, my goal is to help you be successful. BUT how are you going to change behavior if you haven't identified what the behavior is that's keeping you swimming in your pool of fear and doubt? So grab a pen and paper, listen in, take notes, and then start going after what you really want! Start living the life you really want. BenchTalk Episode 19: STOP Telling Us to Cope!!!

3/8/2021
Let’s talk about ‘Surviving Toxic Work Environments’.... Or NOT. Let’s talk about how we should STOP telling women to ‘Survive’ in or ‘Cope’ with these situations. In this Episode of BenchTalk, I am all over this topic and not holding a bit back because I’m passionate about helping women succeed. AND I’m not holding anything back because I want to share what I’ve seen, what I’ve personally experienced, and what so many of YOU have shared with me. It’s time we do something different. It’s time we move in a different way. It’s time we change the narrative and it’s time we change the way we speak to Women and what we advise them to do. Oh and yes...the first 5 minutes is about me being extremely vulnerable about why this March this is significant for me. I was on the fence about whether to keep this bit in or not… I kept it in there, unfiltered because maybe it will inspire someone out there. Speaking of unfiltered…. This is a raw and unfiltered (a little adult language) conversation and with my non-traditional views about how we show up in the workplace and how the workplace serves us. NSFW.
