This episode is not monetized and is of no Financial benefit to The Insidious Agenda Podcast. The story is being told solely for awareness and educational purposes. For more information about the author, please read on below. For the next few weeks we'll embark upon a journey. Our journey will take us through the story of Borrasca. A reddit/NoSleep Creepy Pasta from the mind of Rebecca Klingel (a.k.a. C.K. Walker). Borrasca is set in the fictional town of Drisking, Missouri. Sam Walker, a young boy, moves to the area with his family after his father was recently let go from his job under strange circumstances. Sam befriends local children Kyle and Kimber and the trio share many exciting adventures during their first summer together. While investigating a really cool treehouse just before school starts, the kids' fun is drowned out by a strange metallic grinding - that which Kimber only describes as "Borrasca." Sam is curious and over the next several months, hears the sounds again and again, from some unknown location high up on the mountain; a property owned by the well-off Prescott family. Borrasca comes in to the forefront when Sam's sister Whitney goes missing. But who is Borrasca? Or better yet, what is Borrasca? You'll just have to listen in to find out! Over the next several weeks, I'll take you with me as I read you the exciting legend from the mind of Rebecca Klingel. A story that, in 2015, was labelled the NoSleep subreddit's scariest story. So come along if you dare! Borrasca is waiting. Apologies for the separation, but I'm hoping it'll all pay off! Have you ever wondered what's out there? Ever seen a light in the sky that you couldn't explain? Prepare for a journey into the unknown as we delve into the history of UFO phenomena. From the influential work of Allen Hyneck and the events that led to the eventual opening of Project Blue Book. We'll hear the eerie accounts of personal encounters and unfolding a world of mysteries that have been captivating humanity for decades. Join us as we revisit the spine-tingling incident of 1948, when an unidentified craft was spotted near Madisonville, leading to the tragic demise of Captain Thomas Mantell in his pursuit to approach the enigmatic entity. We'll dive deep into the theories that were spun around this event, and the ripple effect it had on the media and public. Then, we'll hear the story of two airline pilots who watched as something zoomed by their window, the Chiles-Whitted encounter. We also shed light on the baffling experience of Second Lieutenant George Gorman, who chased a mysterious blinking light over Fargo that could out-speed his Mustang Fighter. July 11th, 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Chapter 41 - Manchuria's Hidden Nightmare. The Unmasking of Japanese Unit 731 https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Prepare to be horrified as we uncover the dark history of Japan's lesser-known Unit 731 in this chilling episode of the Insidious Agenda Podcast. We delve into the twisted world of Lieutenant General Shiro Ishii, the man behind the top-secret Togo unit, whose primary mission was to develop chemical and biological weapons in conquered Manchuria. These gruesome experiments, conducted within the walls of the sinister Zhongma Fortress, subjected innocent Chinese citizens to unimaginable horrors, resulting in the agonizing deaths of between 280,000 and 500,000 people. Join your host Nick as he explores the various divisions of Unit 731, where monstrous acts of cruelty were committed in the name of science. From vivisection and gas tests to frostbite experiments and forced sexual acts, no act was too inhumane or immoral for Ishii and his team. We also examine the devastating consequences of their research, including the dropping of plague-infected fleas over Chinese cities and the infection of food stocks with typhoid and peratyphoid. As we bring our harrowing journey through Unit 731 to a close, we reflect on the legacy of Lieutenant General Shiro Ishii and his devastating impact on the world. We discuss the moral implications of their research and the importance of remembering the past in order to learn from it. Don't miss this eye-opening and haunting exploration into one of history's most disturbing chapters. References 1. Stockton, Richard. Season One Ending: A Message to my Listeners (see you June 28th)

5/2/2023
May 2nd, 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Season One Ending: A Message to my Listeners https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Idea Submissions and Well wishes: insidiousagendapodcast@gmail.com Hello Everyone, I know this isn't the episode you were expecting to find this week, but it's one that was necessary. The bottom line up front is that I'm going on a break, i'll be returning for the 1 year anniversary special on June 28th. I know, I know, I'm "breaking the podcast" code, hence why I'm going on break with this message rather than "ghosting" everyone. This message is awesome, have a listen; there is a lot of thanks and praise for you therein! After 50 episodes, I'm taking a break for the next two months. The reasons are contained in the episode, but mainly - I need a bit of reinvigoration from the burn out I'm feeling, I need to amend the current release format and I'd like to take some time and work on my book that I have been writing (it's, so far, an amazing fantasy novel!). I will be back June 28th, that's a promise! In the meantime, I'll be scripting 10 new episodes for season 2 and (as of now) doing at least 1 guest interview. So exciting things are coming, but for now I just need to breathe deeply and refocus. I AM coming back! Please feel free to e-mail the podcast's e-mail above with any episode ideas, guest ideas and well wishes you might have and I would love to explore them with you. In all, I'm extremely grateful for the love and support thus far and I look forward to bringing you new content when I return. But for now, it's time to close the cover of the Insidious Agenda. I'll see you on June 28th and thanks very much for listening! Chapter 40 - Good Luck. Goodbye. The Mystery of Cicada 3301

4/25/2023
April 25th, 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Chapter 40 - Good Luck. Goodbye. The Mystery of Cicada 3301 https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Hello Everyone, Here we are again for another chapter of the Insidious Agenda Podcast. Chapter 40, hard to believe I'd ever make it this far. I'll admit, I'm definitely feeling the same things most claim to early on with the production deadlines, etc. I'm also currently involved in the PSAC Union General Strike here in Canada. Hopefully we'll have a resolution to that soon, but until that time, life is a bit more hectic than normal. That being said, i'm pleased to bring you a new episode; something i'm sure a lot of people are unfamiliar with although there may be some listeners who get their memory jogged from this and remember the early-mid 2010's Cicada 3301 puzzle. I find the whole story to be fascinating. Both, in terms of how in depth the puzzles were and how much they drew from literature, numerology, symbolism and even going so far as to touch on the Occult. We might never get to know who Cicada 3301 was, or were. But nonetheless, they left us with one of the most clever and confounding mysteries the internet has ever seen. I know, this episode is much shorter than normal; however I have a good (and really cool/awesome reason for it). I'm going to be away next weekend, so I'm having to draft/produce/release two podcast episodes in a one week timeline. It almost feels like there's a special long weekend coming up, but i'm not so lucky. I'll be headed down to Calgary, Alberta on Friday afternoon in anticipation of the Calgary Fan Expo. No, i'm not involved or doing anything "podcasty" there. I'm going to meet the one and only Anakin Skywalker. That's right, THE Hayden Christensen. I'm incredibly excited. I don't know what i'll say yet, but maybe just something to the tune of, "thanks for helping make growing up awesome!" Either way, i'll definitely get to have my "fan girl" moment :) So that's it for this week. I hope you enjoy the mystery of Cicada 3301! Until next time. Stay Spooky, Nick REFERENCES 1. Flannagan, S. Chapter 39 - Le baiser de la Mort - Gilles de Rais

4/18/2023
April 18th, 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Chapter 39 - Le baiser de la Mort - Gilles de Rais https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Hey! Welcome back for the newest chapter of the Podcast. This week, I take you back into history to the 1400's and the time of history's believed first serial killer, Gilles de Rais. The story is that of a French nobleman who rose to prominence fighting alongside fabeled heroine Joan of Arc. How Gilles de Rais went from having an unparalleled reputation to being the convicted murderer of over 100 children across the span of 10 years is all answered within. But the story is not without controversy and even into modern day, some even believe he is innocent and fight for that innocence. As to why, i'll let you discover that for yourself. I mention of a break in the episode for those who don't want the gory/sadistic details of why Gilles de Rais is who he is. Break: 22:15 Return: 27:39 For those who don't skip, you'll hear the details that pertain to sexual acts with children and violent, gruesome murder. Those details that made Gilles de Rais the first serial killer in History. That's all I have for this week, I hope you enjoy listening! Stay spooky, Nick REFERENCES 1. Chapter 38 - The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

4/11/2023
April 11th, 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Chapter 38 - The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Hello Again! Thanks for finding your way back. Whether or not you celebrated Easter last weekend, I hope you enjoyed the (long) weekend nonetheless. It was absolutely beautiful here in Alberta and it's nice to see the temperatures beginning to rise again. I can finally see my grass on the lawn and that's a big deal! On to darker themes. Where it was a religious weekend (admittedly i'm not religious) I wanted to do an episode that had biblical themes. It's not a preachy, ecclesiastical episode about the word of God, but more me talking about a certain aspect of the Book of Revelation and the end of days. So, I decided on the story of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The concepts they each represent is fascinating, especially when you draw comparisons to our world and many historical events. It's not the longest episode as I too wanted/am enjoying my Easter weekend and truth be told, there's not a whole lot to unpack outside of face value with this story. As with anything in religious text, there is a lot to dig into with symbolism and comparison however I decided to stick more to the story than getting into the weeds symbolically. Nonetheless, it was a great episode to research and a topic I did find fascinating. I hope you enjoy the story presented this week! Also, on my Outros for the Podcast, i'm not going to outline the episode coming the following week because (if you haven't guessed by now) sometimes I change my mind - all depends on what the flavour of the week is and what I really want to dig in to. Some episodes take a lot more time to research than others so I have quiet a few partially written that are longer term projects. I am planning, in the near future, to do a month of episodes that are "obscure" stories. Nothing strange or weird but more stories that aren't high profile paranormal, true crime, alien cases, etc. There was actually a great amount of interest in the "Fire Spook of Caledonia Mills" episode - a story almost no one (even in Nova Scotia) knows. So I look forward to bringing you more stories like that soon. I've also been actively seeking out guests to bring on the show but it's a lot harder to wrangle them than you might think :) Anyway - enjoy the episode about the Four Horsemen and i'll talk to you again next week! Chapter 36 - Sarah's Labyrinth, The Winchester Mystery House

3/28/2023
28 March 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Chapter 36 - Sarah's Labyrinth, The Winchester Mystery House https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Hello Beautiful People, So before you get started with this episode, be prepared to clear your mind and come in with an open mind. In this episode you'll hear a story and then i'll change it on you with what really happened. This is because the story of Sarah Winchester that's told today differs from what actually happened. Though the narrative that the house is a haunted haven for all those who died at the hand of a Winchester Rifle (thanks 2018) is the one most people are familiar with - it simply wasn't Sarah. As i'll try to convince you of, before the end, Sarah Winchester was just an isolated old woman who had suffered through so many tragedies in her younger years that she chose to spend the ones she had left in solitude. Continuing to build a project (yes, with a supernatural twist) that was set upon her by her late husband William. In all honesty, Sarah seemed like a kind woman who only ever wanted to do good, was good to others and wanted to see everyone benefit from the fortune of the Winchester estate. Hopefully this episode will help change some of the narrative on who Sarah Winchester really was. So, if you want to hear for yourself the story of Sarah's Labyrinth, The Winchester Mystery House, all you have to do is hit play! Interestingly enough, as I mention in the episode, this story forms a duality with the story of Delphine LaLaurie from the previous episode. Amazing the lines that are drawn between two well-to-do women and how their stories ended up. So, I hope you enjoy listening and a special thanks to Sarah herself for making an incredible house in which new mysteries are being discovered today! Stay Spooky, Nick REFERENCES 1. Chapter 35 - Madame LaLaurie & the Haunted Mansion of New Orleans

3/21/2023
21 March 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast Chapter 35 - Madame LaLaurie & the Haunted Mansion of New Orleans https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast Hello Hello, This episode is dedicated to my friend Vicky. She was the first person I ever told about my podcast when I was first envisioning it. When I asked what story she wanted to hear, this was the one. So Vicky, this episode is for you! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. I have quite the story this week. It's a story in the same vein as the story of Elizabeth Bathory and Lizzie Borden - both of whom i've covered already. It's a story where historical true crime meets modern day paranormal. The only way I can sum up this story is that it's horrifying. The attrocities committed by someone that society wouldn't normally except hammer home the lesson that we need to learn from the sins of our past. The Socialite Serial Killer of New Orleans - Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie (née Macarty) is one of the most horrific serial killers i've come across in my writings of these episodes. Especially, when you consider it was against those enslaved to her family. I really hope you enjoy this episode. Some of the content is tough to listen to. It's a dark stain on our history, but lessons we can learn from nonetheless. So I hope you enjoy listening - see you again next week! Stay Spooky, Nick References: 1. Bonus - St. Patrick's Day 2023 - The Dark Legends of Ireland

3/17/2023
17 March 2023 The Insidious Agenda Podcast The Folklore Appendices: Dark Legends of Ireland https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast First off, a happy St. Patrick's Day to those celebrating. I don't believe i've had anyone listen in to the Podcast from Ireland yet - so this might be the first. If you have any Irish friends - flip them a link to the episode. I'd be interested to hear what they think and if I did the stories justice. Like most holidays, I always want to put out a second episode to say thanks to you all for listening and also because it offers the opportunity to hear from different cultures around the world. We're fascinated by the drinking aspect that comes from Irish culture on St. Patrick's Day, but we never hear of their terrifying stories rooted in Celtic belief. So, that's where I come in with three different stories. The first is the story of the Banshee, likely the one that most are familiar with due to it's screaming and the many sayings that come with its name. I wanted to cover this one for a friend who told me once that she was given that nickname. The second, is one of the more interesting deities in legend - the Morrigan. A shapeshifting Goddess of battle whose cry forebode death. The third, is another of Bram Stoker's inspirations for Count Dracula, the story of the evil, undead dwarf King known as Abartach. So there you have it! Another episode is coming your way on Tuesday per normal, but hopefully this will get your St. Patrick's Day started right and I wish you a wonderful, joyous celebration (if you're taking part).
