After developing an early interest in drawing and painting, she then pursued art and art history at school. At aged 18 she made her way to Florence to pursue a classical training at Charles. H. Cecil Studios in 2001 for 3 years, and then taught sporadically there for a further seven summers. Since the completion of her training Frances has been a full time professional portrait and landscape painter and has participated in many exhibitions including Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the BP Portrait Award, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Society of Wildlife Artists, the Society of Women Artists and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition, where she has shown since 2005. She has also exhibited internationally at the MEAM in Barcelona, and at the Portrait Society of America. Frances is a member of the RP the ROI and is an Assoc RSMA. “The themes of my work largely revolve around what I observe in life and find captivating, ranging from formal portraits to farm life and landscapes of many kinds. The main nugget of interest is often a transcendent moment of atmosphere, whether the light over a field, or the tilt of a head. I think I attempt to pursue what seems to convey most about our environment and human nature in the simple subjects that surround us."

Katie Whipple Undraped (VIDEO)

5/8/2023
Kgwhipple.com Katie (b. 1991) grew up in central Indiana. After graduating high school, Katie decided to forgo traditional college education and move to New York City to study academic painting at the Grand Central Atelier. She has since been the recipient of many awards, including scholarships from Grand Central Atelier, Art Renewal Center, and a purchase award from the Indiana State Museum for their permanent collection. Most notably, Katie was the recipient of the 2013-2014 Alma Schapiro Prize. The Alma Schapiro Prize sent her to the American Academy in Rome for three months to study the work of the old masters. Katie extended her stay in Italy, journeying from Rome to Florence and Naples studying antiquity and the Renaissance intensively for eight months. The months in Italy changed Katie’s life. She went to Italy to continue her studies of the figure, but after seeing the ancient Roman wall painting The Painted Garden from the Villa Liva, Katie began painting flowers. It was a shift in her work Katie never saw coming. She feels the flowers chose her, much more than she chose them, and is gladly devoted to capturing their ephemeral beauty. Although florals are generally categorized as ‘still life’, Katie doesn’t feel that is an accurate description of her paintings. Katie’s flowers are alive, and it is the living sprit of Nature that she strives to capture in her work. Katie lives in Southampton, NY with her husband, artist Brendan Johnston, their son Hewitt, and their dog Theo. She works full time painting flowers, and teaches workshops around the country.

4/17/2023
https://karenoffutt.com/about INSTAGRAM: @KARENOFFUTT Karen Offutt was born and raised in Dallas, Texas by a creative family who encouraged her to explore her artistic talent from an early age. Her father was an artist and her mother is a designer and owner of a needlepoint company. Throughout her formative years, Karen excelled in art classes and participated in several art exhibits. As a young adult she sought a more serious outlet for her talent. Not finding the ultimate education for the type of realism she sought, Karen found art related jobs to keep her motivated. Learning to paint with oils was her goal and found that opportunity Austin Fine Arts Classes where she learned a more classical approach. From there, she attended workshops from nationally re-nowned artists and from there began to find her own path in her creative journey. From her studio in Austin, Karen approaches her paintings with an atmospheric sensitivity combining shape, tone line, and color. The inspiration of her preferred subject matter comes ultimately from the figure. "I have always loved painting people whether in natural surroundings or in a more staged setting." “As and artist, I am very aware of my environment which invites me to be a constant observer. I see potential in everything and my emotional reaction guides me to the specific inspiration. There are different aspects to my painting, for example technical skill, creative freedom and emotional truth. My goal is to create work that guides all these elements in a direction that moves me."

Artist bio Danieljkeys.com Daniel J. Keys was born on Oct. 7th 1985, in Fresno CA. Upon noticing a glimpse of artistic talent in him at an early age, Daniel was encouraged by his parents to pursue his passion, namely painting; and being entirely home educated, time was very permitting for him to develop his skill as a self taught artist. He started painting at the age of eleven using a paint set purchased with birthday money. It was later during his impressionable teenage years that Daniel discovered the work of Richard Schmid: a master artist whose works he later began emulating in his own paintings. Alternating between the two mediums, he has already established himself in the world of pastel painting through a highly successful one-man show, winning multiple awards through the International Association of Pastel Society as well as Pastel Society of America, and published in the esteemed Pastel Journal.
