“We’ve Had Enough” - Frustrated consumers revolt against cashless businesses

4/9/2025
Multiple organisations that were looking to transition to a cashless businesses model, have had to walk back on their plans and accept notes and coins, because of pushback from angry customers in recent months. Cash advocates are now cautiously optimistic that we may be seeing the end of the anti-cash movement, which had appeared to be taking hold in recent times. Remarkable Australian: Bob ‘The Cootamundra Cat’ Holder

4/8/2025
Each week, Luke Grant chats with an ordinary Australian who has achieved extraordinary things. This week, he chats with the world's oldest rodeo competitor, 94-year-old Bob ‘The Cootamundra Cat’ Holder. He started competing at age 14, riding all around the country before travelling to the USA to chase his dreams. There, he became the first Australian to have ever won money riding in America, nabbing around $290 at the 1959 world championships at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Earlier this week, Bob made headlines after it was reported that his silver and gold belt buckle, won 65 years ago at a Bronc riding event at Sidney, Iowa, USA, had been stolen. Luke chats with Bob ‘The Cootamundra Cat’ Holder, to learn all about his incredible life and find out if his belt has been located. NOTE: Police describe the belt buckle as being made of solid silver and gold, with gold inlets. The top of the belt buckle reads ‘Sidney Iowa’ and ‘1959’ is inscribed on each side with Mr Holder’s name at the bottom and an image of a saddle bronc horse in the centre. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

'He has no idea what he’s talking about' Senator SLAMS PM’s Port of Darwin call

4/6/2025
Peter Dutton has promised to revoke the lease of Chinese-owned company, Landbridge, from the strategic Port of Darwin if he wins the election and appoint an Australian government-approved operator. Mr Dutton’s decision to secure the critical infrastructure comes as he seeks to shift the election campaign back to national security amid growing geopolitical uncertainty. However, in an attempt to spoil Mr Dutton’s policy announcement, Mr Albanese called into ABC Darwin on Friday night to claim Labor was going to do something about the port without revealing what the government’s policy was. Shadow Home Affairs Minister, Senator James Patterson, joins Luke Grant to chat about the details of the policy and discuss the Prime Minister’s “trainwreck” radio Interview.
