How are you?Startup Coach TorontoStarts (The Startup Coach): I'm doing great. I'm excited to dive into some of these articles that you've been posting. And so let's just jump into some of this cool news. So the first one we're gonna be talking about and for anybody who wants to follow along the links are in the show notes. So take a look there. Japan's worlds largest nuclear fusion reactor achieves first plasma tell us a little bit about this JT 6 Osa reactor that no one can understand the name of What is it?Jonathan Irwin: Yeah. Sure.Startup Coach TorontoStarts (The Startup Coach): And what's the big deal?Jonathan Irwin: Yeah, let me copy of this bike. I am by no means a nuclear expert and by no means an expert in any of this Tech that I'm talking about. I'm just a geek that loves to talk about or learn about new tech and new things that are going on. So this is about nuclear fusion So currently all of the reactors that are out there in the world are nuclear fission, which means they split particles in order to create So fusion is kind of what happens on the sun nuclear fusion holds immense promise as virtually in exhaustible source of clean energy, but achieving controlled Fusion on Earth remains one of science Grand challenges due to the extreme conditions required to fuse Atomic nuclei.Jonathan Irwin: So after over 15 years of construction and testing Japan has made a significant step forward with a successful initiation of plasma in their reactor gts-0sa. Six zero essay. it's the world's largest and most advanced experimental Fusion reactor and it's located at the GAE NACA Fusion Institute. So the Tokamak reactor It's designed to heat hydrogen plasma to over 200 million degrees Celsius. And maintain it for around a hundred seconds. So that is far so path to capabilities first of proceeding large Fusion devices and I think there was one in France as well. That's also doing something but I'm not too familiar with that one. So it's primary goal is to provide crucial data to help optimize plasma stability confinement and performance.Jonathan Irwin: For this multinational organization called the international nuclear fusion research project. so iter for short is based in France and it aims to be the first Fusion experiment to achieve a net energy gain by the mid 2030s, and I know that sounds far off, but that's not and with the first plasma Milestone that talk about has hid. It demonstrates its potential to validate key Fusion Technologies and operations critical to iter's objectives. So if they can continue on this path fusion power can hold the promise to become virtually any gospel source of Base load energy worldwide and the good thing about this is it can replace everything it can replace. we want to replace We want to replace everything so...

It’s one of the largest startup communities in Canada. With me today is Elad Barak, CEO and co founder of Djot, welcome Elad. Elad Barak 00:48 Hey, thanks. Thanks for having me. The Startup Coach 00:50 Can you tell us about your background and how it led to you co founding DDOT? Elad Barak 00:55 I’m actually doing this podcast back from from where I grew up, which is in Israel, came for a quick visit. But I as I mentioned, grew up in Israel did the military service was an officer in the military. After that I got an opportunity to work abroad for Israeli embassy. So I worked for a year and a half in Mexico and another year in Ukraine. Back to Israel. I got my undergrad and Master’s in system engineering and worked for five years in the Israeli aerospace industry mainly with spacecrafts, a bit jet planes. At that stage, they felt things were too big for me. And that company is the biggest company we have in Israel. And I moved to a very small startup that builds robots for the US military here in Israel. And that really kind of started up my passion with startups. I then went to Toronto to get my MBA at U of T. And after that kind of led my career through smaller scale companies, and one of the cleantech then in the cannabis industry. And then that stage I decided to start my own company, John, which is what we’re talking about today. So that’s kind of my path and 60 seconds. So jot, jot, yes, the silence. What inspired the creation of jobs, I was working in the cannabis industry, for a company that was trying to do beverages. And after a year, that kind of didn’t work anymore. I wasn’t too hireable, probably. And we separated our paths. And I wanted to do also a cannabis beverage company, I thought things were done wrong. So a friend joined me and we started this company. And we want to do a cannabis beverage. And we tried to think what beverage should we do what dose and as we were working on it, our NBA hat kind of came to place. And we felt we’re not solving the right challenge for consumers. Consumers want the cannabis beverage, but they’re not asking us to choose the beverage or the dose. So we thought maybe a solution is to give them small vials where they can make their own beverages. And we thought, okay, that’s smarter, but it was still missing something. And that something was the dosing, as we’re all different. And there’s a lot of regulations that don’t allow you to sell more than 10 milligrams at a time. So he said, Okay, let’s find a device that can help us dispense liquid, according to the regulation and, and sell that, and we start doing a search and we just couldn’t find anything. And then we thought,

Max Sinclair 00:12 Thank you. Nice to be here. The Startup Coach 00:14 Can you tell us about your background and what inspired you to start ecomtent? Max Sinclair 00:19 We started Ecomtent in October of 2022. I used to work at Amazon beforehand. So it’s my background, I worked there for six years. And we saw, I think it was a release of stability. Me and my co founder were just like, wow, this is going to completely revolutionize everything. And also ecommerce that kind of was the founding basis that we wanted to help bring this new technology to an industry that I that I knew well, we kind of had the belief back then, which was contrarian, then maybe not contrarian now that like in in a few years, like 95% of the content in online marketplaces will be generated by AI. Happening Now, this is pretty common belief. And it’s only been seven months. But yeah, that’s kind of what we started with. The Startup Coach 01:05 How did your experience at Amazon influence the development of Ecomtent? Max Sinclair 01:10 I’d say, Amazon has some leadership principles to the most important ones are like customer obsession, and invented, simplify. And this is drilled into us like an Amazonian and I guess like an hour as a founder, we are laser focused on our on our customers, we start with the customers and we work backwards. And we very much include them in our, in our roadmap on what we build, we don’t build in an ivory tower and hope that when we launch it, it will sell like we we very much are hand in hand customers getting feedback, people who actually paying us, us. So yeah,

CoverQuick Thank you very much. Craig Major Can you tell us a bit about your backgrounds and how you got into the world of startups? CoverQuick Yeah, I think I’m currently a bio grad from the roots Alberta in Edmonton. And I kind of got the startup world kind of accidentally, I kind of went to a startup events in my city and gone to the entrepreneurs, they’re talking about different coaches there. And it’s a really cool world, like being able to start your own business and being able to do something that you’re passionate about solve a problem that you’re really passionate about something that I felt really, really drawn to stuff. And how I ventured into the world, I started a business that kind of didn’t really go anywhere. But it was a great experience. It was kind of close as for students to find jobs and the job board, but it wasn’t really the greatest solution to the problem that we’re trying to solve. I started with it now, cover quick and we’re still tackling similar problems, but we’re trying to think of a better solution. Yeah. And now my, my approach is a bit different. So I actually in my second year of university, I went and started a stock business where I thought, I’m going to sell socks to different people with different designs. And I thought that would be a really, really interesting business to start. And I thought that yeah, that can make a lot of money. And then ultimately, I bought a bunch of designs and got a few samples, but I never actually launched it. And then I worked on that for like three to four months and never really got anywhere with it, and then decided to shut it down at the end. But through that experience, I really learned how much I loved. Like all the different aspects of business, I loved everything that went into building a business and I was like, Alright, I want to get involved in more than a tech on the tech scene. Revolutionizing Content Creation: An AI-Powered Workflow with Draft and Goal

5/8/2023
In this interview, Nabil Tayeb, the co-founder of Draft and Goal, shares his thoughts on the topic of AI-generated content and its impact on human creativity. He believes that AI-generated content does not replace human creativity, but instead enhances it by augmenting the possibilities of the human brain. Tayeb also emphasizes that AI models are limited as they have been trained on internet data, which is not a copy one-to-one of the real world, and they have a bias that does not represent the real world. Therefore, humans still have a huge playing field to be creative because the AI will help them enhance their creativity, but will not replace them. Regarding the future of content creation, Tayeb sees a shift from focusing on writing the content to focusing on the abstract ideas of the concepts. He also predicts that copywriters will not be eliminated, but rather become chief editors, spending less time writing and more time working on the ideas and correcting what AI generates. Finally, when asked about the fear around AI, Tayeb believes that unrealistic expectations about what AI can do right now have led to fear. He believes that the fear is not justified and that humans have control over AI and its development. Links: Draft and Goal Website Draft and Goal on Twitter Draft and Goal SEO Group on Facebook Next AI Quotes “The biggest obstacle to success is fear of failure. If you’re not failing, you’re not pushing your limits, and if you’re not pushing your limits, you’re not maximizing your potential.” – Nabil Tayeb “Diversity and inclusion are not just buzzwords or nice-to-haves. They are critical to the success and sustainability of any organization. Without diversity, you lack the creativity, innovation, and perspective necessary to stay ahead in today’s fast-changing world.” – Nabil Tayeb “I believe that AI is going to change everything that we do. Every industry will be transformed, and I think we are only at the beginning of that transformation.” – Nabil Tayeb. “I really think that finding new ideas, finding new opportunities, there’s a huge field that’s seen only possible to be done by human brain.” – Nabil Tayeb. “What we say from our side is that all copywriters they are not going to be eliminated, they are going to become chief editors.” – Nabil Tayeb.
