Knocked Conscious

Comedy

Knocked Conscious with Mark Puls addresses questions of society, culture, science, spirituality, philosophy, and more. Its goal is to stimulate thought, challenge beliefs, formulate new ideas, then challenge those new ideas. It intends to bridge the gap between science and spirituality, as both are very real. The podcast is also designed to be a beacon, calling to those who seek long-format, nuanced conversations. Beer Googgles (double-E, double-O, double-G) is basically a show where we get drunk and look-up random $#!T on the internet. It’s the lighter side of our personalities. ***Disclaimer*** We are childish boys who make inappropriate jokes and some of them are extremely insensitive.

2/28/2024: A conversation about climate w/ Dr. Wesley Ingram, expert in the petroleum industry

2/29/2024
Climate change is the main topic of this podcast, but we discuss other stuff. X: @CarbonCow Rumble Channel: https://rumble.com/user/CarbonPsyops Dr. Wesley Ingram has spent over 15 years in the petroleum industry. During this time, he has developed professional expertise in subsurface analysis covering many disciplines including geological and engineering evaluation of subsurface formations along with their potential for economical reserves of oil and gas. He worked in the oil-service industry as a subject matter expert as well as for operators as an exploration Geologist and Petrophysicist involved with drilling and producing oil and gas reserves. Currently, Dr. Ingram has his own consulting company, and provides specialized subsurface expertise to smaller oil and gas companies - specific services and expertise includes: (1) Petrophysics, and log analysis, (2) reservoir characterization, (3) log-based oil/gas reserves, (4) well steering, (5) geochemistry; (6) core testing and analysis programs with interpretation. Prior to entering the Petroleum industry, Dr. Ingram studied geological sciences at Florida State University where he obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc., for his master’s he focused on marine geology and biostratigraphy, as well as developed an interest in paleoclimatology. He then attended and received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina where he studied biogeochemistry, geochemistry and marine geology, which continued his interest in past climates and deep-time carbon cycles. His dissertation involved study of marine gas-hydrate deposits and petroleum seeps along the deep-water Gulf of Mexico continental slope. Knocked Conscious 2/14/2024: A conversation w/ Kevin Mackie, Covid vaccine protester

2/15/2024
On July 8, 2022, a group protesting against COVID vaccines being given to 5-11 year-olds at a vaccine clinic at the children's Discovery Museum in Acton, MA was assaulted by local resident Fred Smith (the man in the video in the brown shirt). Smith was charged with 3 counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (a pipe), 1 count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (a pipe), Assault and Battery, and Disorderly Conduct. On February 1, 2023, all of Smith's charges were dropped with the exception of the Assault and Battery charges. For those, he agreed to 9 months of pretrial probation consisting of anger management classes. Kevin Mackie, one of the protestors (the man in the video with the long beard), defended the group against Smith's assault. For it, he is charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (a megaphone), Assault and Battery, and Trespass. Despite the prosecution possessing the video of the interaction showing that Smith was the first aggressor, with witnesses testifying to the same, they continue to prosecute Mr. Mackie instead of Mr. Smith. The judges are also refusing to dismiss the trespassing charge even after being presented with the notarized deed showing that Mr. Mackie was protesting on a public easement. The same charge has already been dismissed for the other protestors at a show cause hearing before a court clerk. Emails obtained by one of Mr. Mackie’s fellow protesters in a public records request (attached) show that Mr. Mackie’s prosecution has been unduly prejudiced by the direct involvement of former Massachusetts Secretary of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders, along with her public relations team, in their decision to prosecute Mr. Mackie. In the emails, Secretary Sudders tells her public relations team that Massachusetts criminal justice officials will help them prevent future protests against COVID vaccines by Mr. Mackie and the other protesters. She tells her team that she is “happy to discuss off line what they are doing.” Video of protest: https://rumble.com/v2hbnxu-protestors-assaulted-at-childrens-museum-vaccine-clinic-in-acton-ma.html GiveSendGo: https://www.givesendgo.com/ActonAssault Kevin's Odysee channel: https://odysee.com/@KevinDMackie:2 Intro Music: ”Impact Intermezzo (Edited)” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Outro: ”Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight” - This score is in public domain and may be freely downloaded, printed, and performed. Knocked Conscious (11/20/2023): A conversation w/ Wheatus’ Brendan B. Brown

11/21/2023
Brendan B. Brown of Wheatus joins Mark for a great conversation. https://www.wheatus.com/ It's hard to believe it's been over 20 years since Wheatus released their debut album and still ubiquitous single "Teenage Dirtbag.” Yes, that’s right - Dirtbag is no longer a teenager. In honor of this anniversary, Wheatus are releasing a new and expanded edition of their now classic debut album. Says Brendan B Brown, “We found demos of ten more songs from throughout the band’s history, that had such an album-one vibe that they never made it on to our more recent records. So now we’re giving them a proper chance to be heard. The twenty-song version of the album will feature the originally-conceived track listing and sequence, plus the extra ten songs that have finally found a home on a record.” Pandemics notwithstanding, the band continues a seemingly endless tour cycle. 2019 took Wheatus on a coast-to-coast, almost entirely sold-out tour of America opening for (and then collaborating with) Mike Doughty on his Ruby Vroom 25th Anniversary shows. That tour culminated in a super-special sold-out hometown headline show where the “classic” line-up of Wheatus reunited for one night only – their first time on stage together in 18 years. After that, the current line-up flew to South Africa to play some festivals, and then headed to Europe and the UK for another six weeks of touring. 2021 saw the band travel all over America, supporting Everclear, Hoobastank & Living Colour on the Summerland Tour. 2022 saw the band explode back into the mainstream with the "Teenage Dirtbag" trend going hugely viral across social media, with over TWO BILLION views in less than a month. The song has been shared & celebrated by Lil Nas X, Brooke Shields, Paris Hilton, Madonna, Alice Cooper, Jon Bon Jovi, Chevy Chase, Michelle Pfeiffer, Mark Ruffalo, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Heidi Klum, Lady Gaga, Sammy Hagar, Nick Kroll, Mark Ronson, Lupita Nyong'o, LL Cool J, Tony Hawk, Vitoria Beckham, Machine Gun Kelly, Anderson Paak, Jessica Alba, Mick Fleetwood, Millie Bobby Brown, Sheryl Crow, Chris Pratt, and Jamie Lee Curtis... to name a very select few. The future, as always, remains uncertain. But the band looks forward to many more shows in the very near future, including visits to every corner of the earth that's interested in hosting them.
