You don't have to be a good singer to be a good singer. That sounds impossible, but consider Bob Dylan. Unfortunately, the same lax attitude cannot be taken toward comedy, which means traveling deep into purgatory to perform at comedy clubs that don't actually exist. Good story material, though.
