It's the first sunday of January and also for 2025! Happy new year! This is the 124th Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. These monthly released sessions brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. This month Mateusz Grzybowski is the first artist for 2025 to present is live set. Recorded at Electrum Ambient Park 2024 in Bialystok, Poland. About the artist: Producer, live performer and DJ from Białystok, Poland. His music is based on deep techno and ambient, which together with experimental sounds create a hypnotizing whole. In the creative process, he uses synthesizers with the addition of modular synthesis, field recordings and computer software. His sets are known for precise mixing and seamless transitions that keep listeners immersed in the story he creates. In April 2024, he released a 20-track album titled “Charbon” via Subsist Records. Closely related to the Bialystok's music scene, especially the iconic FOMO club community. He performs not only during techno-focused events, but also at art exhibitions and other interdisciplinary events, where he plays ambient and experimental music. Mateusz is also deeply devoted to the music festivals, where years ago he became interested in electronic music and now he is actively participating in them as a volunteer and artist. About the session: This recording took place during Electrum Ambient Park 2024 in Bialystok city by The Ambient Valley. It’s a fusion between field recordings, atmospheres and some percussion elements. About: After 20years of DJing for mainly personal enjoyment, more recently Chris transitioned from techno / house to curating mixes in the ambient genre after his relatively recent foray into deep listening through meditation. This mix takes inspiration from his frequent runs / hikes around the south of England & in Scotland where the music is a key component of the experience. Monosphere aka Jeroen Smulders from The Netherlands is the founder of Deep Electronics, a deep music related podcast and netlabel that search the deep diversity in music. He came in contact with electronic music back in the 80’s with music from Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. In the 90’s he explored the many genres like techno, ambient and Goa/ Psychedelic trance but also more artists from back in the day like Klaus Schultz and Kraftwerk. In later years the interest in more experimental and deeper electronic music let him to dubtechno and dub related subgenres. In 2013 he started his channel to collect this music and other genres in tracks and guestmixes from around the world combined with his own photography. For a long time I wanted to create an ambient serie with music that reflects the elements like Earth, Air, Water but also Space and nature. So many ambient tracks are directly connected with our surrounding using samples, and field recordings for example. This serie is gonna be around 5 chapters long. The first one is Space. For this session I have the theme Space. Space ambient exists for a long time. In the early days of synthersizer music the sounds that where created came almost from another dimension. Never heard before but the computer syntersized is to be heared. Scifi is almost directly connected with spacial sounds and syntersizer music. The skies of Andromeda shimmered with hues of violet and gold, a breathtaking sight that never ceased to amaze her. “Prepare for deep recon,” she commanded, her voice steady. The mission was critical: to explore the unstable orbit of the newly discovered planet, codenamed Dimension Zero. As the ship descended, the crew could see the Hectronic lights flickering in the distance, remnants of an ancient civilization. “We’re entering the void,” Elara announced, feeling a shiver of anticipation. The divine cosmos stretched out before them, an endless expanse of stars and mysteries. “Activate the scanners,” she ordered. The data they collected would be invaluable for understanding the planet’s unique properties. Hours passed as they navigated the treacherous terrain. Finally, the ship’s sensors picked up a signal. “We’ve found something,” the science officer reported. “It looks like a portal.” Elara’s heart raced. “Prepare for return,” she said. “We need to analyze this data back at the base.” As the Eclipse ascended back into the skies of Andromeda, Elara couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. However, recently he's been very inspired to go away from the four on the floor pattern and explore the other areas of ambient and instrumental techno music. He had the idea for this mix after witnessing a solar eclipse in the city where he lives. His longstanding residency at Serendipity Club, as well as involvement in projects like Rumore Bianco, has allowed him to craft a distinctive style over the years that transcends genres, including ambient, downtempo, tribal, and techno, characterised by the seamless fusion of psychedelic rhythms and hypnotic sounds. Since 2014, he has been one half of the Plants Army Revolver duo. His extensive background includes owning the record shop Mondo Muzique in Foligno, contributing significantly to the Melantónia Collective based in Berlin, and being one of the minds behind Sintesi Festival.
