The City of Waupaca is now accepting proposals for several city-owned residential lots on Woodland Circle in the Woodland Estates neighborhood. Officials say the single-family lots offer a prime opportunity for homeowners, builders, and developers to build near Swan Park and downtown. Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Those interested can find the full request for proposals on the City of Waupaca website, cityofwaupaca.org or contact city staff for more information. The City of Waupaca has released its 2025 Water Consumer Confidence Report, highlighting the quality of drinking water delivered to residents. City officials say the system continues to meet federal safety standards, with water sourced from groundwater wells and treated to ensure reliability. The report outlines ongoing efforts to improve treatment processes and protect local water resources. Residents are encouraged to review the full report on the City of Waupaca website to learn more about their water quality and services. Wisconsin’s Severe Weather Awareness Week runs through tomorrow, with statewide tornado drills set for today at 1:45 and 6:45 p.m. Residents, schools, and businesses are encouraged to practice taking shelter as if a real tornado warning were issued. The safest locations include basements, interior ground-floor rooms, or designated safe rooms. NOAA Weather Radios, local media, and some outdoor sirens may also be tested. If severe weather is expected, drills will move to Friday. Updates will be posted by 10 a.m. at readywisconsin.wi.gov.

Volunteer Waupaca is organizing a Day of Service on Saturday, May 16th. The event offers a range of service opportunities for community members to assist local organizations and causes. Organizers say the first 150 registered participants will receive a free event t‑shirt. Those wanting to participate are encouraged to register now. You may do so at volunteerfoxcities.org/signusup. A reminder for City of Waupaca residents that citywide leaf and brush pickup continues through the month of April. Leaves should be placed in clear bags, tied securely, and kept under thirty‑five pounds. Branches and brush must be bundled with twine, not wire, and cannot exceed five feet in length or three inches in diameter. Materials must be placed on the terrace, not in the street. Items outside these guidelines will not be collected. Lasty, Waupaca Parks and Recreation reminds everyone there is still time to register for spring and summer programs. Men’s softball registration is available now along with many other youth and adult sports, activities and programs. See what’s available and register online at Waupaca Rec dot com.
