64. Self-Concept (Your Thoughts About You)

3/2/2022
Deciding what you want to think and believe about yourself is the main tool and concept that will stop you from organizing your entire life, then rebounding back to where you started because you couldn't keep up with the systems you created. If your identity doesn't change to support the new results you create, you will ultimately snap back to that old software. Long-lasting results require a software update to your brain, so it thinks thoughts that support your results you worked so hard to create. See you inside for a deep dive into this life-changing concept that you can start applying right away. • Register for the free live coaching call on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 (always the second Tuesday at 2) from 2:00-3:00 CDT (click here to register) or copy and paste: https://morgandodsoncoaching.ck.page/699b77e427 • Get on the email list: enter your email by clicking here, or copy and paste: https://www.morgandodsoncoaching.com/subscribe • Interested in coaching? 62. Why Taxes Suck for ADHD-ers

2/15/2022
Taxes suck, ESPECIALLY when you struggle with executive dysfunction, or any other kind of neurodivergency. This episode will help you articulate all the possible struggles, obstacles, issues, hardships, complicated feelings, and all the resistance you have to doing or thinking about taxes (or even reaching out to hire a tax pro). Once you can articulate your experiences and obstacles, you can get to work on solving them, making systems that actually work for your brain, and in general, making taxes suck less. You've got this. 61. The fact that you have desire for something proves it’s possible for you to achieve it

2/9/2022
Having desire for something is all the proof you need to believe that it's possible, and then you go and make it happen. Your true desires are there for a reason. There's a reason I don't want to be a professional athlete, but there IS a reason I have previously wanted to become a life coach. How do I know? Because I BECAME A LIFE COACH. Tune in to this episode to hear about ways your dreams are actually much more achievable than you think, just based on this one simple little thing called desire. 1/26/2022
Feeling solid in your own digital organization protocol has everything to do with why you have lots of unused productivity apps on your phone. In this episode, I unpack the reasons why it's common for ADHD-ers to impulsively download apps, why it makes sense we feel confused and overwhelmed by the whole process of digital organization, and I also help you define the next steps for FINALLY figuring out what works for you to create the effective systems you've always dreamed of in order to actually support your life instead of sucking your soul. 57. Your Thoughts About The New Year

1/12/2022
You probably have thoughts about the new year that make you feel like sh*it, and you don't even realize yet that they are completely optional. "I should make big changes in my life," "I should set a big goal," or even "I have to start fresh" and "hit the ground running" are all optional, and I give you some new perspectives on what to do instead, if the neurotypical "expected" way of goals feels yucky this year. P.S. - I love impossible goals, the bigger the better. Do an impossible goal, if you WANT TO. But if it just so happens you don't want to? Both are perfectly amazing options. • Register for the free public pop-up coaching call on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 (always the second Tuesday at 2) from 2:00-3:00 CDT (click here to register) or copy and paste: https://morgandodsoncoaching.ck.page/699b77e427 • To learn more about coaching with me, get on the email list, or schedule a consult, visit my clean, easy to navigate website: morgandodsoncoaching.com • Get on the email list: enter your email by clicking here, or copy and paste: https://www.morgandodsoncoaching.com/subscribe • Interested in coaching? 55. Question. Everything.

12/28/2021
Y'all. Some thoughts can sound nice and lovely on paper, but can sometimes actually cause a lot of pain, time wasted, lots of suffering, and loads of mental space spent with no upside, and no payoff whatsoever. This episode is all about questioning every thought (especially the ones that sound nice), because they might just be sneakily working against you. I dive deep into my thought that caused me trouble this Christmas present shopping season, and how "being a good gift giver" sounds good, but it actually made me spiral out into overwhelm, perfectionism, over-researching, and so so so much overthinking. Also, how I solved it. • Register for the free public pop-up coaching call on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022 (always the second Tuesday at 2) from 2:00-3:00 CDT (click here to register) or copy and paste: https://morgandodsoncoaching.ck.page/699b77e427 • To learn more about coaching with me, get on the email list, or schedule a consult, visit my clean, easy to navigate website: morgandodsoncoaching.com • Get on the email list: enter your email by clicking here, or copy and paste: https://www.morgandodsoncoaching.com/subscribe • Interested in coaching? 54. Why I divide my year up into trimesters (instead of quarters)

12/21/2021
Thinking of the year in terms of quarters hurts my brain. Rather than trying to squeeze my neurodivergent brain into a neurotypical box, I made up my own rules and it's been working beautifully ever since. Join me as I break down how I divide my year into three chunks, what intentions I set going into each one, and see how you can apply this concept to your life for the upcoming 2022 year. 53. River of Misery

12/15/2021
It's uncomfortable to believe something new, or to learn a new skill, similarly to how your muscles hurt after going to the gym. All it means is you're GROWING. Except, our brains really want to make the discomfort mean that something's gone terribly wrong, when in reality, we're perfectly on schedule to having stronger muscles or to gaining proficiency in a new skill we're learning. Knowing this can save you SO MUCH struggle and misery when you know discomfort is coming, and nothing's gone wrong. Tune into this episode as I teach you this concept, as well as give you a behind the scenes view into my recent drama and experience switching from Trello to Notion, as my primary project management app. Spoiler: Extremely relatable and entertaining brain drama ahead. It can often feel ambiguous and vague about what to do with these feelings that showed up strongly out of nowhere, but tune in to this episode as I break down exactly how to process an emotion in a way the feels constructive and healthy vs. urgent, trying to run away from the feeling to get rid of it, and actually making it feel stronger whenever you resist it. 50. Why B- work is more motivating than A+ work

11/24/2021
Aiming for a perfect outcome seems like it would be motivating. Except, when you obviously don't hit it, it feels de-motivating because you're "not there yet, can't release it because it's not good enough", and none of your work ever sees the light of day. It seems counterintuitive to aim for doing less-good work, work that gets you an 80%, a B-, but it actually makes you get MORE done, AND it's more motivating, because it makes you want to go do more stuff. B- work that gets released is better than A+ work that never sees the light of day. Sound fun? 49. Self-judgment

11/17/2021
Self-judgment not only feels like shit, but also prevents us from solving the problem we want to solve. It's a huge rip-off. Getting to compassion and understanding your reasons for doing the thing you didn't want to do feels challenging and new (especially if you've never practiced it on yourself before), but it at least gets you somewhere, and is the only thing that will actually solve your problem. 48. Email Hygiene

11/10/2021
Caring for your email inbox is a lot like showering regularly. You don't shower once "really good", and then not have to shower again for a month. You're always going to be getting emails and other information coming into your life, so you need to adjust to accommodate for that steady flow IN, as well as making sure there's a steady flow going OUT as well. Keeping emails in your inbox without them flowing out is a lot like continuing to eat and never pooping. If you're having email troubles, or have tons of emails cluttering your inbox, there's likely a problem, breakdown, backlog, or area of congestion within another one of your systems, usually in project management/workflows/task management, reference systems, or even calendaring. You can have relationships with all sorts of things. Not just people, and certainly not just in the context of a romantic relationship or a friendship. Your relationships are just your thoughts you have about the other person or the other thing, and in this week's episode, I dive in to my relationship with a piece of hardware/technology that I would like to improve, so then I get a different result. All it takes is a willingness to take a look at our thoughts, and give ourselves the space to decide, if we truly can think anything we want about something, what would you want to think and feel?
