He doesn't care about the news, and he certainly doesn't care that the Dark Realm is invading Earth. After all, the portals only showed up a week ago, and the invaders are mostly interested in raiding big cities for their salt supplies. Jerry lives in a quiet Idahoan town; he's safe. Or so he thought. When the screaming starts in his apartment complex, Jerry decides to do the sensible thing: hide in the bathtub with a pillow, a towel, and a cold can of his world-famous salty tomato soup. But when two agents of the Dark Realm disintegrate his bathroom door, they don't see a terrified human. They see a "Courageous Chlorinated Commander" in full, glorious red regalia—which is actually just Jerry's emerald-capped tomato costume from the farmer's market. Mistaken for a high-ranking officer due to his "uniform" and his high-sodium diet, Jerry is whisked away to the local Infiltration Station (formerly the town grocery store). Now, he must lead a troop of disgruntled "Duteous Deputies" while trying to find a way to climb out a window and go back to his soup. "The Stranded Radiance" is a hilarious, salt-infused sci-fi adventure about an accidental leader, a very convincing tomato costume, and the absurdity of saving the world one soup can at a time.
