Bleep Bulimia Episode #113 with Dr. Fred Podcast Host of Welcome to Humanity, Author of Find Your True Voice, Keynote Speaker, Mental Health Advocate and Much More...

7/9/2024
Send us a Text Message. What a lovely conversation with Dr. Fred, and his passion for his new book Find Your True Voice he says it goes along with the technology and what we talked about today and it does. It's about connecting with human beings. Dr. Fred was the youngest of 3 sons; his brothers were over 10 years older. He was told he was a bundle of love and joy. Admittedly he says maybe not all the time, but that was his memory. He watched his brothers communicate with his parents. He said from a young age he would have to learn this communication. Dr. Fred as a child was always smart, top of his grade, and funny and got into trouble. His seeking how to communicate was a frustration in school. Junior high was no better, nor was college. He dropped out, then returned to computer science, and again he didn't want to punch cards. So he dropped out again. His mother said he needed a job. So he got one at a Child Worker in Michigan in January 1980. It was there he learned what communication was about. Dr. Fred says this world is uncomfortable. Your level of maintaining yourself is working for you at times to have a smile. It gives you a purpose. But some people don't have that feeling. They don't want to get out of bed. He asks if there is a justification for being sad or scared or being nervous about how things are going to work out, or the voices in your head. Oh ya. Just don't go to the hospital telling them that because those voices are fine but they will put you in the psychiatric ward, and you will be put on medication that will create the symptoms of being what they diagnosed you as as a schizophrenic. All these people wanted was to make a difference. What is a human? They want to be heard, they want to be heard, they want to make a difference and they want to be part of this planet. We all want to be liked, but no one cares. This is where Dr. Fred came up with Find Your True Voice and Welcome To Humanity. Whatever you say, it's about Humanity. Hellish and beauty of being a part of humanity. He also undoctors people. What if there is nothing wrong with you? Dr. Fred said that eating disorders were a more difficult part. But he makes a point. If you can accept that "this is humanity", and not put yourself down, it's easier to accept that you can, in this world of humanity, find a way to get over it, accepting it's part of your humanity at this time. Dr. Fred did say some people do have medication that truly does help them. However, other people are given medication that only exacerbates the issue. Very interesting conversation. Bleep Bulimia Episode 112 with Matt O'Neill With A Mission To Spread Positivity

6/18/2024
Send us a Text Message. I wanted to have Matt O'Neill as a guest because I know so many people who struggle with their moods. It was something I struggled with even more so when I was bulimic. When I gave up on bulimia and found peace within myself, my temperament changed. I won't say I still don't have those moments I snap, but as I shared, I am acutely aware of my emotions, which I wasn't when I ate them and then purged them. And you never really purge them, you bury them further down. What I love about this conversation is when Matt equated negativity to "Pain Body". I have never heard that before, and it made so much sense. So who is Matt? He is a renowned podcast host, entrepreneur, and Forbes books author here to share his mission for spreading positivity. And how do you do that? One particular part of our conversation was revealing to me. Love first. Don't judge. Matt explains that empaths can feel negative emotions from others. This is where is speaks to viewing situations as opposite. We spoke to being spiritual, yet the teachings of Jesus were of "love first". And to understand that someone else's negativity is what they are going through and may try to project it on you to bring you down with them. Truly a Podcast worth listening to. Thank you Matt for this great conversation. To reach Matt, go to https://mattoneill.com/ And Matt's book "The Good Mood Revolution" is available on his site and also on Amazon. Thank you Matt. I am still smiling when I am now trying to opposite the negative. The "Pain Body". More about Matt: Meet Matt O'Neill, renowned podcast host, entrepreneur, Forbes Books author, and devoted family man with a mission to spread positivity. As one of the world's foremost experts on positive psychology, Matt offers valuable insights to enhance everyday happiness, even as life gets tough. Matt founded a business that grew 100 employees and $10 million in revenues. He achieved everything he’d always wanted – money, recognition, a beautiful wife and family, even charity work… but the fulfillment he so desperately sought was still out of reach. That's when his focus shifted to finding the true source of happiness... within. In the following decade, Matt committed himself to learning from the world's greatest teachers on lasting happiness. He studied directly with Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson, Tony Robbins, Sadhguru, Ed Mylette, Dr. Jane Goodall, Dr. Benjamin Hardy, and countless others. These masters taught him how to rewire his brain for happiness. Now you can benefit from his hard-won insights and achieve lasting happiness for yourself as well. Bleep Bulimia Episode 111 with Ana Escobar Spiritual Coach The Magic In Healing Focussing on Eating Disorders

5/28/2024
Send us a Text Message. I know this is a weird introduction, but the other night I watched Atlas with Jennifer Lopez. In the movie, there were AI robots. A couple of kinds. The one that saved her was the one that she had to simulate her mind with the Robot Smith. It took her all she could to do that final 100% sharing of her feelings. The key to her survival. I believe sinking with ourselves is just that. And this is where Ana's story intrigued me to how it related to finding yourself. JLo found herself through a robot asking her to fully engage her mind to help them both work together for him to help her survive. The truth is, WE need to synch with ourselves to survive. The key to our survival is knowing what is in our hearts. Ana shared her intimate story, and at that moment she said "I shared with my cousin I was bulimic. She was the first person I told" I cried. I cried because I know the emotions of "coming out". Ana turned her life around by finding what is in her heart, her passion, and her MISSION. She is now a Spiritual Coach. With the help of Reiki and Card Reading, she helps those who struggle with eating disorders to find the same path of recovery she did. And what is important is her Clients know she is speaking from the heart because she traveled that journey and recovered. Ana says it's about opening up the heart and sharing. It sounds easy, but it's not. Trust is required. It is why she opens her heart to her Clients so they know being vulnerable is the best way to be and that she can be trusted because she has been there. Ana's story is beautiful. Sad, caring, and about learning that everything happens for a reason. Her's is to serve, and help those who need to reach out and heal. The Magic In Healing. I am sure that will be a beautiful Podcast and book someday. In the interim, you can reach Ana on Instagram here... @TheMagicinHealing I appreciate Ana's honesty and her compassion for helping others recover. I hope that this podcast speaks to my listeners as it did to me when speaking with Ana. Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Start for FREE BE A GUEST/FIND A GUEST Start for Free! Bleep Bulimia Episode 110 with John Graham 3x Memory Champion on overcoming Panic Attacks and Anxiety

5/28/2024
Send us a Text Message. I know panic attacks and anxiety. Strangely I had often when I was bulimic. I would hyperventilate when I was driving and have to pull over somewhere. So John Graham was a welcoming guest on my Podcast. What causes this? I asked some questions. Is it passed down from generation to generation? Is it about nutrition? In the view of John, there is little awareness of where it comes from, but he knows. Most therapists, psychiatrists, and others will tell you it's a mindset, it can be cured with pills, meditation, or so on. It can't. I agree. I tried all. . I love his response to this. YOU HAVE TO START WITH THE HEART. It was interesting that the Podcast guest that followed him had the same message. Yet in a different version. I found it interesting that John spoke about working with the right side of your brain instead of the left one that likes to "Google" the answer. He explained both men and women have a hard time working with the "feminine" side of the brain because we have been brought up in such a masculine society and to think masculine. Emotional root issues store themselves in the heart. One of my favourite moments was when John said the emotions rise when someone pokes you. And you can feel the anxiety or panic surface, but instead of feeling it you push it back down. And that someone doesn't know they poked you, but you know that there is something there that has to be addressed, but you choose not to. This is where John comes in. I love that he said he feels like he is at the top of the mountain and wants to shout out to everyone how to overcome this panic attack and anxiety rollercoaster. I told him I want to be at the top of the mountain with him. Listen to this and you will learn how to release all those uncomfortable feelings you keep inside of you. Bleep Bulimia Episode #109 with Angela Beyer more that just a Fitness and Health Coach!

5/16/2024
Send us a Text Message. I apologize that my microphone did not work as perfectly as wonderful Angela is... please do if you can, bear with the sound, and listen to her message. It's an amazing one... Angela is so wonderful. Our conversation flowed beautifully. I apologize for the sound. I did my best to edit it. I am not perfect on my podcast, but the messages to my listeners are. Angela's message is so perfect for my listeners. I loved her honesty and her wisdom. Having an amazing life is up to you. I appreciated comments like Food Freedom, and Enjoy Food. This is where I am now and I am so excited she brought that up. We spoke to how to eat slowly, and also the beautiful things Angela shared. Write down your next day. Journal. For some of her clients, it is important to have the right portions, prepare your day, make sure you have protein, heal, and recover. The strange thing is I realized I do all that. But I can always do better. Although the career that I love has me going up and down stairs, and my legs are fit, my arms are losing muscle. I have all the exercise equipment to do what I said... from 48 to 56 and in better shape. Now 61... I am going to challenge myself. 20-minute workouts just 4 times a week. I am sending Angela my before and after. Does it matter? Not really, except, we spoke to the health around our bones when we get to our 60s. It's not about my caring how I look, it's about protecting my bones. It's about the perception of "I want to look great" to "I want to protect my body" which someone called a meat skin. Yes. It is. And it needs muscle to keep its bones protected. What an amazing lady! About eating disorders? She speaks to a perfect way of finding a diet. NOT A DIET... a way of eating for life. Voices go away when you have peace around food. She talks about food thoughts and releasing that. Nutrition degree, bodybuilding, coming out of being a skinny fat person. I get that. Angela was wonderful in speaking to all this. She was such a beautiful guest. And my BAD. I meant 20 minutes 4 times a week. I was so excited speaking to Angela, I messed up by saying by day. NO! It's 20 minutes 4 times a week. It's all you need. This was a wonderful podcast full of honesty and information. Bleep Bulimia Podcast Episode 108 with Helen Sernett Sleep Evangelist and Sleep Lists Podcast Host

5/9/2024
Send us a Text Message. Helen Sernett, a sleep Evangelist and a Podcast host of Sleep Lists. What a wonderful topic. We many times don't sleep because we want to be awake for the life we want to be having. But sleep deprivation can send you to a state of health. Helen shares her own experience that not sleeping well was causing her health issues. So she went looking for ways to sleep to counter that need to be awake and for something to stop all that Monkey Brain, to stop the overthinking. So after a while, she couldn't find it so she created her own way to do this. When you are working long days, you do have that feeling of not wanting to lose out on those hours you want to stay up to no lose the time of life with you! All those thoughts... that make you lose sleep. I still have issues. I don't have insomnia. I have the issue of wanting every day of my life to matter and it keeps me up. Helen taught me about what happens at night. What your body does when it sleeps and what you do when you don't sleep to deprive your internal organs. Very interesting. We all know that sleep is important but some of us don't care to listen to it. What can sleep do for you? Find out more. And did you know you can break up 8 hours a day in half in a day? And that you cannot catch up. Day by night 8 hours. Not broken by 4 hours one night and 12 the next. It's 8 hours a day. Do you sleep all night dream about memories.. and how does your brain stop dreaming? What does it mean if you are dreaming about trauma and you keep dreaming about it? Listen to find out. If your brain can't process the trauma that you can't figure out, apparently your brain's dreams are trying to process it... Helen was a wonderful guest. This dream and sleep are very interesting. And I shared that while bulimic I only saw black and white and dark. Since my recovery, I have seen colour again. I love what Helen spoke to this. We also brought up Benjamin, the Dream Wizard. He is fascinating and both Helen and I were on his Podcast. A plug for you... Benjamin. :) Hitting a low point can maybe cause dark.. and this was so interesting... I loved this. So much more than I can write here. Please listen. SLEEP. Are you asked about sleep by your Doctor? Know you sleep 1/3 of your life. Bleep Bulimia Podcast Episode 107 with Dr. Cindy Starke Internal Medicine Doctor Turned A True Healer

5/9/2024
Send us a Text Message. It was a pleasure having Dr. Cindy Starke on the show. She says she sees women come alive all the time now. Overachieving is not the answer. Dr. Cindy Starke left her practice feeling that although she started off loving what she did, medicine became like a revolving door as time went on, like Ground Hog Day. What she learned is that her emotions are there for you. Instead of overworking to make yourself worthy, you can find yourself by finding your emotions. I loved that Dr. Cindy Starke asked about bulimia. She was interested. I shared my experience, but I don't know other people's "routine", or feelings. But I do know pleasure and pain come with bulimia. With Dr. Cindy Starke, it's interesting that her acceptance of a shift was her similar cycle of bulimia. Doctors and nurses on 12-hour shifts are not healthy, never mind being over-driven outside and pushing yourself. And what are we doing and who are we proving this all to? Social scripts - change it to work for you instead of against you. That's what Dr. Cindy Starke helps. Why do you want a feather in your cap? I love something Dr. Cindy Starke said. This is a meat suit. Stop trying to impress each other as women or being in a man's world. This is a meat suit. It's not what you look like on the outside. It's what your meat suit is holding in. The beauty, the care, the love you exude. Know how to love your life. Your experiences. Dr. Cindy rewires your thoughts through her process through workshops once a month. In one part of your mind, that is all your limiting beliefs reside. To clear out the limiting beliefs it goes through a filter. Find out more that, about how Dr. Cindy clears out the limiting beliefs. 5 parts of the clearing that she shares in groups or individual session are also spoken to. Bleep Bulimia Episode 106 with Elwin Robinson Founder of Genetic Insights and Host of the Rejuvinate Podcast

5/2/2024
Send us a Text Message. This is an incredibly interesting Podcast with Elwin Robinson. I have always been fascinated with genetics and DNA. When Elwin reached out to me to be a guest, I was intrigued. I know many of us are also intrigued by AI and that is to make notes for us on a Podcast and pick out the important parts of our conversation. In fact, ZOOM has that and it decided to pop in to visit as a guest. I found that intrusive because I want to note my experience personally with my guests. This, like all my episodes, is special, but particularly special because I always wondered about the genetics and the DNA possibilities of why I was bulimic, and Elwin speaks to this. A passionate person who also expands on the possibilities of looking into your DNA having a greater role than just what you may get from 23andMe, one that can provide a report on your present and possible future health issues, and greater yet, if I heard properly, provide you with suggestions on how to eliminate or control the future health issues. Fascinating. To reach Elwin, he suggests visiting YouTube and finding him by simply searching Elwin Robinson. Yet, furthermore, you can visit his website www.geneticinsights.co. Bleep Bulimia Episode 105 with Andrea Epting Specializing in the Treatment of Trauma Initiated by Process including Eating Disorders

4/16/2024
Send us a Text Message. I was so excited to have Andrea on my Podcast as a guest and I know now why. I knew that the content would be of value to my listeners. All my guests share valuable information, but in this case, the EMDR aspect fascinated me. Andrea is very knowledgeable on so many subjects that can be connected to our recovery from bulimia and eating disorders, with one being learning how to deal with emotions. I love how this connects to the previous episode with Brady and Ana and what we spoke about. My favourite line? Trauma has to do with too much too soon, or too little too long. I saw and heard that line. Also, I loved the conversation about emotional dysregulation. For those of you who have reached out to me on Messenger, I hope that my Podcast guests help you. Reach out to the person you engage with here. Andrea, thank you. This was truly a great learning experience. Andrea also speaks to her 90-day journal Plan To Recover which will be partnered with The Road Less Travelled coming soon. Bleep Bulimia with Brady returning with his Partner Ana sharing about her recovering from Bulimia

4/13/2024
Send us a Text Message. Wonderful episode about how Ana shares her story of bulimia recovery. Brady was previously on my Podcast speaking to dog training and how it relates to humans training their mindset for both themselves and their furry family. Ana is candid and speaks very much about how a bulimic feels through the journey of bulimia and recovery. Brady introduced his partner, encouraged her to tell her story, and asked some very pointed questions as a partner to someone who had struggled with the disorder. I truly appreciate this couple. Lovely story about how they met as well. More About Ana: What we didn't get into, and I hope Ana will return as a guest once again to give us more information, is how Reiki changed her life. She did speak to the spirituality part of her journey to recovery as well as OA (Overeaters Anonymous), but there was another part to this, and it inspired her to start her own business to help others heal through this method. Keep posted for where to find her on Social Media. :) More About Brady: You can reach out to him at https://info.newdirectiondogtraining.com/ or on TikTok and Instagram @dndogtraining. Brady is a dedicated dog trainer with a passion for empowering puppies, dogs, and their owners to achieve greater success and harmony at their home and around town! With years of hands-on experience, he's honed his skills in canine behavior, obedience, emotional support, and service dog training. Brady firmly believes that a well-trained dog is a happy and confident dog, and his mission is to empower dog owners with the knowledge and tools to create a peaceful and loving home themselves. Most dog owners find themselves struggling to unlock their pet's full potential, often falling short of creating the well-behaved companion they envision. I was at a similar place, at rock bottom, and I needed to do something fast. In his signature keynote, "From Chaos to Harmony: Unlocking the Secrets to Your Dream Dog" Brady Foulk shares his up-and-down journey, guiding individuals to realign their focus on what they can control rather than what they lack. Bleep Bulimia Episode 103 With Ben Oofana The Healer

4/2/2024
Send us a Text Message. Very interesting conversation with Ben Oofana. Healer. He has been in practice for 35 years. We chatted about bulimia and his three most powerful interactions. Deep tissue massage, acupuncture, and floatation tanks. Ben speaks about his own trauma and how he helps others with their own. He speaks to numbing and avoiding. I did bring up the fact that being an adult with bulimia and being in mid-life bulimia. This is different than working with children. Ben responded that even if he has limited information of the individual, he does admit many incidences, but his clients don't divulge all he needs to know to heal. Typical of bulimics. Ben states he will take his hands and scan the person. And he says he then feels in person how they hurt emotionally. Accessing emotions and working with emotions is important. Bleep Bulimia Episode 101 with Brady Foulk Dog Training Expert And How His Journey Relates To Bulimia

2/27/2024
Send us a Text Message. What a lovely and inspiring interview with Brady Foulk. And how fun that this is episode 101. Reminded me of the 101 Dalmations. How would Brady train all 101? A question for the next time I have him on my Podcast. At first, I was wondering, when he reached out to me, how this would relate to my Podcast. He was clear on how it would. And it does. Fun pre-intro when I asked how he wanted to be introduced. He said his last name is said "folk" like folks. I told him I think I can say that fine. Even with my lisp. And or I could say he was Brady, like the "Brady Bunch". Wanted to hug him right there. My kind of humour. I have always had dogs. And my dogs have been part of the reason I recovered. My sister's unconditional love for me also made me realize dogs give you that too and what would my dogs do if I were to leave them? Brady shares his own story of how he had to retrain his own thinking and lifestyle and explains the three different ways we can deal with issues. Ignore, manage or make it sustainable. Brady and I chatted after the interview and it was interesting that he asked me what were my questions while I was eating after I recovered. He asked that because I told him when I was eating at family gatherings when I was bulimic, would I find a way to get rid of the food? Today it's not really asking any questions. It's enjoying the food and the company. So there are no mental thoughts of what I will have to do, other than the dishes. :) Great question though. Brady shares many intuitive thoughts and is very engaging. And his dogs Bumble Bee and Curiosity are so adorable! Check them out on Social Media!
