Susan talks about getting the sudden change that we experience when a new job, new romance or the loss of either. It’s wild when life changes overnight and we find ourself diving into projects, work or a relationship. The anticipation and possibilities can blur our vision, remove our boundaries, and create a quiet chaos that will slowly rise within. Susan welcomes Mike Overlie back to the show to talk about his new nonprofit SaveTwo.org that brings dogs and men together. Mike’s mission is “to save the lives of dogs and men, help them connect deeply to heal their wounds, and teach them skills to navigate this world and live better lives”. Mike has his own story of being saved by his dogs as he navigated various life challenges. He also will match men with dogs if they don’t already have one and has partnered with local shelters to completed the circle of saving dogs as well. Mike is an incredible person who understands that most men haven’t been given the emotional skills to handle the messiness that life throws at them. He works individually as well as in group form to help other men harness real confidence to live a happy life. Please meet Jenny Crozier! Susan and Jenny sit down to talk about living life to the fullest, that it is never being too late to start something new, and how being from a family of tradesmen led her to a life of working in what has been traditionally known as a man’s field. Jenny’s deep sense of self, desire to work hard, get dirty and enable other women into a life of working in the trades is a fun story. Her day job is in trucking safety compliance , and co-owner of Crozier Construction. Jenny also spreads the word about careers in skill-based trades to young girls and women through the multiple organizations she belongs to as well as speaking at schools and trade camps. She informs young people that there are opportunities in hands-on work that is rewarding and satisfying. Her new book series Jenny’s A Jill of All Trades will publish its first edition The Welder in June 2023. We can’t wait to see what comes next for this incredibly talented and smart woman! Susan talks about the importance of showing up! The in-person experience of connecting with others is vital to our health and way more fun. Whether with your work or in your social space, being face to face with people will always present opportunity that can’t be found through digital means. This is not to say those tools don’t provide convenience, but the importance of human connection offers us to use all parts and senses, and adds value in ways that often changes the trajectory of our lives.
