For example, being told as a young child that you are 'Stupid' may be something you believe to be accurate as an adult that is limiting your success. Women connect emotions to an event because of our larger limbic system; we remember moments of the past when events have emotions attached to those events. Mindset shifts are required to change the perception of past traumatic events and see them with adult attitudes and wisdom, thereby limiting the impact of the memory. These mindset shifts must incorporate a woman's limbic system to ensure long-term changes.
