Next up on Objectively Typed, we take on a listener request and type Matt Mercer. Matt is perhaps best known as the Dungeon Master (DM) on the YouTube channel Critical Role where he had been leading a party of eight voice-actors/adventurers through Dungeons and Dragons campaigns since 2015. Even if you’ve never seen a single episode of the sitcom “Will and Grace,” you probably recognize Sean Hayes as “the guy who isn’t Will” from the show. When the series premiered in 1998, it was a groundbreaking comedy that featured gay characters in principal roles. The show starred an amazingly talented ensemble cast that included Sean Hayes in the role of the “kooky next door neighbor:” Jack McFarland. We’ve all had this experience: you meet a new person and something just “clicks” immediately. It’s as if they speak your language and just *get* you in a fundamental way. We’ve also all experienced the opposite: someone who - even if you’re both speaking English, just seems to be from another planet and has a completely foreign way of approaching the world. Could it be that all of this is driven by the cognitive functions in your stack? Do xSFPs and xNTJs just understand each other better than they understand xNTPs and xSFJs? This week on Objectively Typed, we borrow a term from Socionics and examine the similarities and differences in each of the four “Quadras.” There seems to be something about sharing functions that just makes relationships and communication that much easier. It has been one year since we got our official OPS types and started this podcast! We finally sit down together to discuss how our understanding has evolved over the past year. Some things are more clear while others are more murky. Tune in for some reflection, a few observer freakouts and maybe even a hug!

Hi Tribe! We talk about our saviors and demons a lot, but what about shadow functions? In this episode of Objectively Typed, Evelyn Cash-Santos and Virsaviya discuss these - do they exist? How do we access them? Join us for a dynamic discussion on shadow observers, with Evelyn as an Ne/Si user and Virsaviya as an Se/Ni user, we dive into what it means to simulate each others functions. And then promptly stumble around as we discuss the deciders, trying to better understand Fe/Ti and teasing apart what is what, as everything begins to blend together for us as double deciders. 😂

Ahmed is known for his portrayal of Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars Episodes I-III. However, the world doesn’t remember him due to the controversy and often vitriolic reactions people had to Jar Jar’s character. Struggling to make peace with the tribe hate, Ahmed almost committed suicide. Today, he talks about his experiences openly, which allowed Evelyn and I to see where he feels stuck as we typed him. While some parts jumped out to both of us, we couldn’t agree on decider vs observer. What did you see? Ahmed was a joy to get to know and we both walked away as Ahmed fans, wishing him the very best with his upcoming one man show.
