TSC Talks Revival!! JUSTIN LESLIE of Project Whistleblower ~ Truth Under Fire

3/18/2024
This is a special edition, TSC Talks Revival episode with Justin Leslie! Justin is an ex-Pfizer scientist and whistleblower. Justin was also one of my first guests on my podcast "TSC Talks" in 2018, (https://bit.ly/3Iz0FUU) where he shared his story about his experience with diagnosis and living with TSC. In "Project Whistleblower" Justin shares his personal journey, including living with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), a condition that not only shaped his childhood but also inspired him to pursue a career in pharmacology, aiming to find a cure for his condition. During his time as a vaccine scientist at Pfizer, Justin began to collaborate undercover with Project Veritas. This partnership led to the revealing of mind blowing revelations about the COVID-19 ‘scamdemic’ and other alleged misconduct within Pfizer. However, he soon started to observe concerning behaviors within Project Veritas, such as the suppression of timely truths and vaccine concerns. These observations led him to question the integrity of the organization and its founder, James O’Keefe. In collaboration with Marty Leeds, Justin has produced the compelling documentary “Project Whistleblower.” This film delves into his experiences and his growing awareness of the covert tactics and manipulations at Pfizer, Project Veritas, and OMG Media Group. In an era rife with lies and deception, the documentary underscores the revolutionary act of truth-telling." TSC Talks! Final podcast~Wrapping it Up & Thanks

6/23/2022
Jill wraps up the podcast! I started in 2016 interviewing my kids and how they were affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. It was absolutely divine inspiration from the start and branched out shortly after to interviewing community members and other professionals who worked with those affected. From there, I explored many different topics, providing information and resources in interview form, all with relevance to the individuas and/or parent/caregivers affected by a chronic illness like TSC. Pushing the boundaries of what was deemed "safe and effective" by our medical system, I continued to put info out there based on my own lived experience as a parent/caregiver living and dealing with what I'd come to discover is CPTSD if you want to use a label. It was my vision and still is that all "remedies" for improving the quality of life of all involved in the wheels of chronic illness, particularly one such as TSC which affects all the vital body organs, will be an option for all. Why should we hold back the river when there are so many speaking about how their lives have been impacted by sharing their truths, sharing what's worked for them and what potentially might help another ease the very real and almost daily traumas of attempting to live with an open heart and navigate our inverted systems of care. Many of these podcasts go against the grain of what people are comfortable hearing. There are always positive takeaways but there are some heavy heavy experiences that people are walking through and talking about and must be given voice. I think through honest conversation, and taking full responsibility for one's reactions to other's sharing from their most painful, heart-wrenching moments, we can begin to hear each other once again at least long enough to realize, we're all having vastly different experiences yet we all long to be here now, safe, loved, whole, home. Thanks for tuning in and being here there and everywhere. It's been the pleasure of a lifetime to have the opportunity to create and share this work. Love Jill Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tsc-talks--1666046/support.

TSC Talks! Points of Light~Linsey Hurley~Holistic Health Coach Working with Cutting Edge Energy Healing Technologies "Silver Linings"

3/28/2022
I met Linsey Hurley this past December when we both participate in a Freedom Flash Mob dance event at a local mall. It was a fun and powerful event, a group of locals suddenly bursting into dance and raising awareness of our right to medical freedom! So, I figured the people I met at this event were pretty special. I got a text from Linsey a few weeks ago and we got to chatting. She told me a bit about her business and this new patch she had been guided to that was quite interesting. At that point, I decided to invite her on the podcast to discuss and was quite impressed with what I learned, and the potential of this new tool, X39 patches. Linsey is a holistic health coach, and she has worked with cutting-edge energy healing technologies for many years. She was led to the alternative health field after her experience witnessing her sister go through stage 4 breast cancer within the mainstream health system. Despite her and her sister doing much research and finding alternative treatments which when suggested, were basically brushed off and ignored. This was over 40 years ago. She ultimately lost her sister, and faith in our conventional system, which explains the silver lining. Her sister inspires her and is with her every day and she is grateful for her impact on her life, ultimately pushing Linsey into utilizing and sharing these amazing healing energy devices and tools today! The rest of this story is in the podcast. See timestamps from the transcript below. If interested in learning more, you can reach out to Linsey at linsey@newview.org by phone at 9787937291. She considers this a gift from her sister. 5:36 the mainstream narrative keeps us in fear and subservience with no energy to consider why we are here 5:57~Linsey’s sister is still with her 6:32~Start of discussion on X39 patches which support the body’s natural systems 7:23~the body is brilliant! We can support it in the way it wants to heal 7:45~FDA glitch at beginning of the pandemic, Linsey could not use regular tools such as the Beamer and was led to X39 patches 8:06~X39 patches are a frequency device that activates the body’s stem cells. 8:37~A discussion of exactly what stem cell therapy is, what’s involved, the expense, often making it inaccessible and usually used as a last-ditch effort when all else has failed 9:53~further explanation of the patch, non-transdermal, made of amino acids and salt crystals, activates different reactions In the body 10:36~the science is putting frequencies on the skin that cause other reactions leading to doing some healing 11:04~David Schmidt is a scientist who was hired by the Navy to develop a patch for Navy Seals to replace amphetamines 12:02~Linsey uses a lot of patches now she has all her...

TSC Talks! Points of Light~Part Two~Leigh Anne Bianchi, Founder of Good Citizenship Project, Activating Good Citizens

3/12/2022
SEE SHOW NOTES FOR PART ONE FOR MORE DETAIL! I had the pleasure of interviewing Leigh Anne Bianchi, Founder of Good Citizenship Project recently on TSC Talks. She was joined by her business manager Carla Bell. We had a free ranging discussion covering many topics but all regarding the benefits of the sort of unconventional programming Leigh Anne has developed through GCP and how this meets many of the huge gaping unmet needs for those individuals diagnosed with autism and other special needs that our systems of care have become too siloed and disconnected to address. “Developing a sense of meaning and purpose, social-emotional skills, work ethic, and peer relationships by volunteering, distributing donations, and supporting local farms.” For more information on Good Citizenship Project, FB page: https://www.facebook.com/GoodCitizenshipProject/ phone: (508) 868-0293 email: leighanne.bianchi143@gmail.com Timestamps for part 2: 0-52 Intro 00:54- Antonio’s Waitress Olivia treats them like humans, the start of the discussion on sexuality and special needs 2:26 All the PC of working w/special needs has made sexuality issues really challenging. People taken advantage of, they are developmentally younger and no one talks about this 5:03 Karaoke, real-world situations help 5:28 Dashboard confessionals, you can say stuff without eye contact when conversations about penises and vaginas come out. Pediatricians recommend using scientific wording, Leigh Anne took all the training on autism/special needs and sexuality and can talk candidly. 9:27 Why questions, keep asking them. See the question behind the action. One client wanted to see Leigh Anne’s breasts, curiosity, she didn’t react or file a report but discussed it with him. So many lives could be ruined if everything is flagged as inappropriate. This population never gets to ask questions 11:06 Leigh Anne had to spend 5 minutes spend w/individual who had sex offender charges in ISP and Leigh Anne knew charges were not true-example 13:16 Paying for Good Citizenship Project….if you have an autism diagnosis, sometimes easier to get funding, agencies often don’t want to pick up those with autism but things changing and agencies can help you get funding to cover through DESE/Wraparound Family Services, Public Partnerships through Participant directed programming conduit, Private pay, PCA funds, DDS Family Respite funds 20:11 Leigh Anne should be paid more for all she offers. Charges $30/hour but will work with families. Leigh Anne does not have a BCBA or other letters after the name that would allow her to be recognized as a service agent but has the lived experience and work experience to exceed those with mere education 23:26 Becoming a non-profit would mean more strings attached, Johnny her horse would have to be certified as a therapy horse, her dog a pit bull mix, too many hoops to jump through. Jack couldn’t have used a log splitter! 26:31 Investor/philanthropist would be ideal with no strings attached. Leigh Anne took a chance w/Camp Marshall, wanting to partner and have it be her home base. If associated with an agency the volunteers would need to get paid. All benefits from GCP are not recognized as beneficial for many who don’t understand the depth of what she does. 31:31 Work to ride is an option or unpaid internship/apprenticeship. So much happens in learning these farm skills that is energetic…deciding how to perform tasks and learning from any mistakes, having the freedom to learn from mistakes like using a pitchfork instead of a shovel for a particular job… 34:21 Farmers giving the flexibility to figure out the approach to completing a job is helpful. So then it’s not regimented, can focus on the end results, not the niggling details and farmwork facilitates executive functioning in this area. Learning at the moment, the Montessori approach is part of Leigh Anne’s process 37:31 Give individual rules, allow them to screw up and figure it out is more powerful...

TSC Talks! Points of Light~Part One~Leigh Anne Bianchi, Founder of Good Citizenship Project, Activating Good Citizens

3/10/2022
I had the pleasure of interviewing Leigh Anne Bianchi, Founder of Good Citizenship Project recently on TSC Talks. She was joined by her business manager Carla Bell. We had a free ranging discussion covering many topics but all regarding the benefits of the sort of unconventional programming Leigh Anne has developed through GCP and how this meets many of the huge gaping unmet needs for those individuals diagnosed with autism and other special needs that our systems of care have become too siloed and disconnected to address. “Developing a sense of meaning and purpose, social-emotional skills, work ethic, and peer relationships by volunteering, distributing donations, and supporting local farms." In my opinion, what she shares are gems of vital importance. AS someone who carries a diagnosis of Autism AND has worked within our siloed and disconnected systems of care, she gets it on a whole new level. What is missing, what is needed. One of her most important assets is her ability to ask why and watch, observe what is going on without judgment or preconceived notions based on dogmatic teachings not relevant to real life. Leigh Anne IS real life. She knows how what and why to reach and engage kids who have often had no one their entire lives really see them. The energetics of the interactions are often the most important part and the very part of our offspring’s with special needs education that is rarely observed or explored. To do so freely requires unconventional programming and thinking and IS what will give these individuals deep embedded experience to carry forward and integrate into every aspect of their lives. Priceless. So that being said, this is one of the most important discussions I’ve had to date on TSC Talks personally as my son Jack has benefitted immensely from participating in this sort of immersive, apprenticeship experience gaining valuable skills, both tangible and energetic. Here’s a recent description of gains made: “There's A LOT going on there when we're together. Not just the obvious, like physical fitness, and employment-based objectives, but Distress Tolerance, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, time management, generalizing skills, problem-solving.... learning how and when NOT to answer back to an authority figure. (Instead of saying, "I know," or "I was going to do that," when he clearly wasn't, just saying "OK.") We address that OFTEN. Staying on topic, being able to complete a task WHILE socializing... Another example is planning. Looking at the task at hand (like cleaning a pen or stall) and being able to decide which tools you're going to need (the pen might require a garden rake and a metal pitchfork, vs. an aluminum shovel and a plastic pitchfork for the stall), and how to efficiently complete the task. Right now, he tends to be on autopilot at Jesse's, because he's done it before, and knows what tools to use. But if we go to a different barn/farm, he will sometimes just walk into the stall without any tools or automatically grab the tools that he'd use as Jesse's. But Jesse has brand-new rubber stall mats under the shavings, whereas other barns might have hard, packed-down dirt that is uneven, old, warped stall mats, or even slab cement under the shavings, which impacts the tools needed for the job. Additionally, the concept of 'using your head to save your feet and planning out the technique or way you're going to do something....like cleaning the stall of the older horse first so that you can put him in there to eat first since it takes him so long. Or, turning on the hose as you walk by it upon arrival, so you don't have to go all the way back out to the spigot when you're ready to fill waters” You get the idea. TSC Talks! Points of Light~Bryan M. Henry, Founder of Together We Ascend-"Connected to Love"

3/2/2022
In this episode titled "Connected to Love" I had the pleasure of interviewing Bryan M. Henry, Founder of Together We Ascend, an organization and community that is on the mission of assisting in collective ascension, and the co-creation of more harmonious and prosperous world for all. To this aim, Bryan and the Together We Ascend team is uniting and activating lightworkers through the Ascend Academy. Bryan also is Creator/Producer of "Awaken with Bryan Henry"~ a podcast. Bryan is indeed connected to love and what he communicates in this podcast is just that as well as how we all are connected to love in the deepest and most complete of ways. Giving others an assist in rediscovering this conneciton is what Bryan is called to do. I got the chance to learn this first hand when I came across his Ascend Academy almost a year ago and booked my first session with Bryan. From there our connection grew, and I have been working with him for the last seven months. The recent intuitive podcasting workshop evolved out of our work together. Here's one of Bryan's opening statements, "so I know that you you sent me a little bit of preliminary questions to kind of prepare myself but I feel like the best thing I could have done to prepare my pair myself was drop into here, and that chest region in that body to feel and rather than have some pre scripted answer. Sure what felt most inspiring in this moment. Perfect. That feels like today is the story of a guy that loves to serve, loves to be in service of others loves to contribute, loves to witness transformation take place before his eyes. I've over the course of my journey have come to my perspectives, my beliefs around what goes into living a joyous, filling and exciting life. And part of what that entails for me is being in service to something bigger than oneself. When I look back to all of my experiences, the accumulation of everything I've been through all of the best ones came from being connected to love and making it more about giving then getting. And the irony becomes when you find yourself centered in this space of wanting to give for you get to experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from that. You begin to realize that the giving and receiving are ultimately the same thing." TSC Talks! Points of Light, Lisa Smith-Advocate, Foster Parent, Mom, "All 100 Sheep"

2/1/2022
I recently had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Lisa Smith recently on TSC Talks. I met Lisa through a mutual friend, as is explained in the podcast. I was thrilled to do a podcast with another special needs parent and local to Massachusetts. Lisa is a parent of 22 years old Nick, who experiences nonverbal autism, has adopted several children, and over the years has fostered 27. During our interview not only was Lisa able to draw from and articulate profound experiences and topics in such a way as to not only connect them to her lived experience, but she was also able to illustrate how she’s taken the time to integrate and utilize all of it to further evolve as a soul but to also facilitate trust, healing, and connection for all her children, biological, adopted and fostered. Her words tell the story, her faith guides her. One of the most important points of our discussion was the realization that it is not these children that are “lucky to have her,” but it is she that is lucky to have them. As a special needs parent myself, this awareness was a true turning point in my understanding of this divine assignment where I became the student and realized my children are my teachers, one that Lisa feels and experiences every day. “It’s biblical, she said at one point “And when I began to read the Bible, I had learned that some of my actual walks in life, were very biblical… There's a story that says, God got the 99 sheep, but there was one on the hill. He went back for that one. Most people in life. So God has designed me through my journey, not to forget the one.” “Presence, presence, and presence. And to me? Be present. People always say things like, oh, if I win the lottery, I will do that. And I always tell people all the time I won the lottery five times, five children and people say, oh, they're so lucky to have you, but really….How do I know that I'm going to take care of my disabled son someday? Right? How do I know they're not there to help me when I become disabled someday? We do not know, you know, so we, you know, and, and we don't do it for those selfish reasons. So, we don't do anything to get things, you know, and, and, you know, we do things because that's who we are and that's our heart.” I appreciated this podcast so much and hope you will too. I feel it was put in front of me by my higher self, as sound bite after sound bite so many of Lisa’s words not only related to me personally but also inspired and challenged me. Her faith in God is huge and expansive but she shares honestly the hard truths she’s faced personally to get to where she is now. Thanks, Lisa, for all the ways you are serving a higher calling and being willing to share your journey with me and this audience. TSC Talks! Points of Light, James Davis of Bay Staters for Natural Medicine-"Advocacy from the Heart"

1/28/2022
I had the pleasure of interviewing James Davis recently on TSC Talks. As you’ll hear in the podcast, we connected a little over a year ago when he was just getting started with Bay Staters for Natural Medicine and looking for volunteers. At that time, I’d been experimenting with microdosing psilocybin for mental health reasons, it was helping, and I thought I’d jump in. Life pulled me away from that volunteer work, but James made a profound impression on me, and I had the notion that he’d be successful in whatever he endeavored, particularly his advocacy around decriminalization of plant entheogens, as his passion, kindness, and honesty just stands out. When we connected to do the podcast, I was not surprised, but also surprised by the progress he and the growing team of volunteers he leads has made over the past year. He hits it home on so many topics within this pod, I thought it best just to include the full transcript. Thanks, James, for showing up, being such a divine-human and inspiring, and leading many to make a difference. Enjoy the pod! They have mobilized over a thousand Massachusetts volunteers to decriminalize Somerville, Cambridge, Northampton, and Easthampton and have pending resolutions in Boston, Burlington (VT), Amherst, Worcester, Needham, Salem, and Medford. These resolutions decriminalize growing and selling plants like magic mushrooms, which reduce the risk of opioid addiction 55% after a single experience and have been proven to have statistically significant benefits for PTSD and depression. Their resolutions also end all controlled substance possession arrests, referring people for addiction treatment and committing our cities to invest in these services. In this episode, you will also learn about the other types of entheogenic plants and the power they hold to help us heal” Here's an excerpt from the transcript, the full transcript is available on the website. He is a, he is a volunteer among other things, but my basis of meeting him was a volunteer and the leader of bay Staters for natural medicine. Just to give you a little background here before we get started, I'm going to read this, but. He's done tremendous work. I'm really excited to have him here. And I'll tell you how our paths crossed in a minute, but he's the leader for Bay Staters for natural medicine. They've mobilized over a thousand Massachusetts volunteers to decriminalize Somerville, Cambridge, North Hampton. East Hampton pending resolutions in Boston, Burlington, Vermont Amhurst, Worcester, Needham, Salem, and Medford. TSC Talks! Points of Light~Cannabis & Spirituality with Janna Champagne, RN, BSN

I had the pleasure of interviewing Janna Champagne, RN, BSN recently to discuss cannabis and spirituality. Janna has been a fantastic TSC Talks Podcast guest several times in the past. I am linking to those podcasts for anyone interested in hearing more from Janna, including her initial “story”, and more detailed information on using cannabis to heal and her work with Autism, leading to developing Autism Safe Haven. Our most recent interview delved into Janna’s story and teased out how her lived experience led her to step more fully into her soul’s purpose. Janna delivers heartfelt, vulnerable glimpses from her journey thus far in this lifetime. Her lived experience is testimony to the power of continuing to show up, work on herself, and allow herself to surrender and be led by spirit despite some overwhelming odds. A story of personal transformation, hope, and healing. Janna credits cannabis for helping to reduce her reliance on harmful pharmaceuticals and support her ability to regain her health, including reversal of autoimmune disease, against all odds. Janna is also known for her success in treating her daughter's Autism with cannabis, which was featured as a cover story in a national cannabis industry magazine in 2017. www.integratedholisticcare.com/news Nurse Janna's focus is holistic treatment--natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals including CBD and cannabis therapy. Her work as a cannabis-specialty nurse since 2015 included educating thousands of patients, helping them optimize their cannabis therapy outcomes through an individualized and well-informed approach. Janna has since applied her extensive clinical knowledge to educate medical professionals about cannabis, and help producers create therapeutic quality and targeted cannabis products, with a goal of improving cannabis patient success rates. Janna is also founder of Autism Safe Haven, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to improving cannabis-inclusive Autism care resources. Nurse Janna's specialties include: Autism, Inflammatory/Chronic Pain Syndromes, Autoimmune, Neurological, Gastrointestinal, and Mental Health conditions. Janna found that success with cannabis often led to reduced reliance on pharmaceuticals, meanwhile improving quality of life and function. Nurse Janna is a founding member of Cannabis Nurses Network, serving on CNN's Speaker's Bureau, and as leadership. Janna was awarded Leader of Nursing and Outstanding Author for Cannabis Nurses Media in 2019 and nominated/awarded Cannabis Nurses Network 2020 Educator of the Year. TSC Talks! Points of Light~Cannabis & Spirituality with Sherri Tutkus, RN, BSN

11/27/2021
I recently heard some talk in spiritual communities about cannabis and how it possibly harshes our evolution. I’ll admit, I was a little bit triggered when I first heard this. I felt for a moment that what I’d come to understand as my truth, (using cannabis as medicine and as a portal to divine connection and expansion), was under the microscope. I think is there's a lot of misunderstanding of cannabis, cannabis as medicine, cannabis as an entheogen. What I was hearing from some within the spiritual community, didn't line up with what I had learned and experienced and it was confusing. Cannabis, in many ways, opened a portal so I could see how to save my own life. So, I did what has become a foundational transformational process for me and I took it to the podcast to ask the burning question I had on my mind about cannabis and spirituality. I thought, “why not interview somebody that I know that has some lived experience in that area?” I reached out to my friend Sherri Tutkus, RN, BSN, Green Nurse, former podcast guest, to see if she’d have this discussion with me. (I will continue interviewing individuals who are interested in sharing their “story” of how their lived experiences, of all shades, let them to stepping more fully into their soul’s purpose.) From a very young age, Sherri was connected and had some experiences with the divine. What followed from my initial query is a beautiful discussion with her just blowing my mind with the things she’s experienced and where she's gone and come back from to be a shining light and a heck of a guide for others. Through her combo of traditional medical education, deep lived experience as a patient, nurse, mother, medical cannabis patient, psychedelic explorer and guide, podcaster, businesswoman, and friend to many, her depth of insight is epic. I learned a lot and realized I had the answer within, which it always is, needing a little context & connection to spring it loose. Let’s hope you can find some valuable insight as well. Let it rip! Sherri Tutkus BSN- RN is a leading force in the burgeoning cannabis industry as a nurse, patient, advocate, and activist. All that she shares and teaches facilitates our own innate ability to step more fully into our authentic, divine selves. Sherri is the Founder of The Green Nurse and Chief Nursing Officer at Holistic Caring- a global community of health professionals who provide vetted products and services to support the utilization of plant medicine and other progressive therapies to nourish the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Sherri educates and implements holistic integrative healing modalities within her nursing practice at https://thegreennurse.com/team/sherri-tutkus/ "And through all of that my discovery was this. We have beliefs, and beliefs are fed to us from the outside. And so, we have a choice to either believe it or not believe it. Right. But does a belief make it true? That's the question that people need to ask. So, truth.... what is truth? Truth is basically when someone has an experience, that can become their truth. All truth is truth. But all truth is not yours and mine at the same time." TSC Talks! Nina Patry~Points of Light, From Primal Scream Therapy to Paradox Process, the Journey Home

11/10/2021
Links: Paradox Process: https://www.paradoxprocess.org/ Ziva Meditation: https://zivameditation.com/ Thomas Jones on Luke Storey Podcast: https://youtu.be/cB5OT3vtpP8 A demo of Paradox Process with Thomas Jones and Emily Fletcher: https://youtu.be/vkXdaGmKTtQ I can only say I’ve had one of the best times of my life getting to know Nina Patry. For all the negativity around Facebook, that’s where I met her. In a forum for Lorie Ladd, during the COVID madness. Our paths were destined to cross. Our connection and experience together, over the last 6 months, was enough to make me want to podcast again. You’ll hear the description of how I thought we met and then Nina’s description of how we met, which was far more accurate. Funny. What I want to note is how important it has been for Nina to solidify her inner voice and deep knowing, her authentic self, despite the external reality into which she was born is one in which often didn’t make sense in a way that allowed her to feel loved and at home with her own awesomeness and value. Born the oldest of 7, to a world-renowned, MD working in the field of Pharmacology~ in NYC, busy parents, whose hands were full, she internalized the message to stay out of the way and not draw attention to herself. did not follow any preconceived or single life path, like me, she’s been an avid student of life. Each experience led her further into asking the question, “Is this really all there is?”. From her earliest memories to today, she weaves a beautiful narrative based upon the inner and outer experience of each memory she shares. She states, “If I’d have had to plan a life for myself to get me to where I am today, I could not have planned it any better!” I am honored to get the chance to ask her questions and discuss pretty much freestyle, her navigation across the time-space continuum, the adventures she’s had along the way, what was gleaned, what was stored, and how each experience held a gift, like a scavenger hunt, leading her along the path of further stepping into her soul’s purpose. There’s so much within the episode, and I’ve noted the timestamps that I thought jumped out, below. Please also note the very important links Nina asked me to share on Emily Fletcher and Ziva Meditation as well as on Thomas Jones and The Paradox Process. “here's my mother picturing me living in the woods with an outhouse, etc, etc. And she had said to me, how can you be living such a Hard life. So one day I'm out there kicking the ice out of the buckets, thinking hard life. Wait a minute, when my mother was my age, she had five kids, the hardest thing I have to do is kick the frozen ice out of their buckets on these, you know, under zero-degree morning. That's the hardest thing that I do. What is she talking about? What is she talking about? Again, it's this whole relative reality, you know, the people look, five, just like me looking from the outside saying, I could never do that.” 6:22-Story of her birth 8:19-Moving around quite a bit, lessons of relative reality 10:30-Germany. Going to Germany as an exchange student-meeting Mormons 15:25-Nina’s boyfriend meets up with her dad at John’s Hopkins-dad did not face things emotionally 16:55 -What attracted her to Mormonism-the gestalt…what life was about, father in heaven, etc 18:55-Dad came home with a cat-couldn’t believe he had given her something so wonderful! 21:00-Always had knowings 22:01-Dream about the cat on the payphone 24:04-What am I getting out of this life if I’m the creator? 25:22-Living in East Village (NYC) during a tumultuous time 30:20-Drawn to the book, “The Primal Scream” without seeing the title. TSC Talks! Finding A Cure?

9/27/2021
Jill Woodworth, host of TSC Talks gives a commentary on the notion of "finding a cure", which is the tag line for about every chronic disease, and how this notion often clouds the less than loving motives behind the industry, corporations, non-profits, medical system and more that extract energy, like a battery, from those for whom they claim to serve. There is always information to which the masses, those affected, and their entire support collective are not privy, which would allow for more light, more ways of figuring out how to genuinely and wholistically find a cure and at least improved quality of life along the way. Hold onto your hearts people, don't judge another's path, no matter what and love yourself if you do. NO matter what. TSC Talks! Exceptional Circumstances, Making it Work When Systems Don't~Nikki Lawley, TBI & Cannabis Advocate

2/16/2021
TSC Talks guest Nikki Lawley is a former pediatric nurse, former blackjack dealer, and much more, who went from full active life to chronic daily pain and other debilitating symptoms after suffering a traumatic brain injury on the job in 2016. This is the story of how it happened, what happened and how she’s been able to move from existing in survival mode to having a life filled with hope despite ongoing challenges. In her own words; “since my (TBI) injury, one of the things that I’ve learned more than anything is about living in the moment. my life changed a second and I can’t go back and write a new ending, but I sure can start now and I just have really become more human with this injury. ” Here are a few relevant quotes from the transcript~full transcript linked below: “So I began the search for a diagnosis. It was hell, I was always a respected colleague in the medical field. And every doctor I went to was like, we don't understand why your symptoms are so long. We don't understand why you’re not better yet. We don't understand this headache that never goes away. How can you have a headache 24 /7. I'm like, I have a headache. 24/7. I have a headache that never goes away. And they basically told me that it was psychological at one point, and it was so de-humanizing for a person that's never had mental health challenges and extreme situations, to be told, like, this is all in your head. Really nothing wrong with you. And it was like, Whoa, is it really in my head? No, and I mean, chill. When I say I was upbeat and happy, you know, I was different than I was before. I was really quick, really witty really able to, you know, snapback and had a really fun life. I'm a different Nikki and I'm differently-abled, but I feel that patients are the experts, and they are not heard. We are not heard from a patient perspective. When I tell the doctor, this medicine isn't working. Why do I have to be in question?” She goes on to say, “It wasn't like a panacea that like one day I just opened my eyes and oh, cannabis is here. Oh, I'm all better. That's not how it works. Yeah, the universe has allowed me to explore. Honestly, it's allowed me to be able to understand my injury, it's been able to help me help others. I was able to see that cannabis isn't so bad. It's given me hope when I had none. and removing the stigma of this plant is honestly what's in my heart that I really want to help do.” On the state of Cannabis legislation, “But I've learned so much about this plant, and there's so much more to learn. And right. We're just at the beginning, really any of us. Exactly. And New York State is looking at legalization. Yes. I keep seeing that. Is that gonna happen? Well, I was part of it for the last two years and nothing happened. And it was incredibly disappointing. Incredibly. They all got a position so they can make the most money off of it, I think there's so much of that behind it. I don't know all of it. But oh, no, you're 100%. And I really didn't understand that. Like I always just heard people say that, but let me assure you, that's it. I've never seen a more corrupt system literally starting at the very, very top of how it all works together.” “So I had to fight to just see the right providers, I spent so much money out of pocket. Workers' compensation pays for next to nothing. Yeah, unless you have specific doctors that they are willing to pay for, you can't get care, right. Everything was a struggle from medical massage, physical therapy, to cognitive therapy, you name it, they fought you on it. And then to have independent medical exams that are paid for by the insurance company, and they spend literally three and a half minutes with me. They look at all the medical records and say alright, she can return to work in six weeks, and she has no problems.” For the full transcript: https://otter.ai/u/EDWInbGkx7qAhus2lgEyjYilyoM Nikki’s links: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/Nikkilawley LinkedIn:...

2/2/2021
Lisa Larson is a mother, daughter, Senior Care Advocate, Learning Assistant, Co-Owner of TSC Talks, LLC and all-around awesome human being. Lisa started working on the podcast in 2018 after hearing the resilience, intensity complicated nature of the challenges people with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex were dealing with and offered to help me edit. The rest is history. We’ve evolved considerably since our early days and expanded the breadth and depth of our content, from purely TSC related to the broader “special needs” umbrella, then cannabis, cannabinoid medicine, and alternative health to where we are today, highlighting the cracks in the system, hoping to shed some light, inspiration and provide resources and information on practical ways to buck the system. Well….not buck it, but bolster, integrate and enrich our lives with stories of others who have found ways to improve quality of life without increasing dependence. Lisa’s story is the start of this content thread. Here’s a few lines from the podcast transcript to give you a bit of a teaser… “Lisa, in the last year, actually in 2020, has transitioned members of her family that are older, into her living space, and I've just kind of watched it from outside. And it's been quite informative witnessing the challenges and the rewards. We thought it would be great for Lisa to come on. And just talk a little bit about, what made her decide to do this, how it happened, and, shed light on her process. I think this is a common theme for a lot of people is what do we do when our parents get older…” Here is a link to the full transcript of the podcast: https://otter.ai/u/OpicltOInNrjw4bb31gSRck6oIo Lisa’s links: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lisa.o.larson Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisalarson7/ Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tsc-talks--1666046/support.

And sometimes these choices are sorely inadequate. Sometimes our resources run out before we can get our loved ones into a situation where they can take advantage of supports and services and start to forge their own lives. Sometimes group homes are a good option, and ideally should be a good option for more. But again, we are dependent, or they're dependent on funding and disconnects between providers and often not able to implement and implement enough surrounding support services that would enable individuals to be more successful learn from the group home living situation and move into a less restrictive environment. So, you know, I think my point is that I think they can work. I think there's a lot of challenges. So Brooke, why don't you go ahead and give me a little bit of your background and talk about your experience. Okay, I know this is part two. So if you watch part one, you can hear a lot. I mean, we could reshare that somewhere. So speaking on that I was diagnosed at 18 with TSC. And I had kidney tumors, basically was dealing with a lot of kidney stones, urinary tract infections, that type of thing at the age of like, 17 ish, probably a little bit after my hormones got to use, you know, used to my body, and were like, Hey, we're not gonna let you do life anymore. I was a cheerleader I skater, singer traveling singing group for a Christian. It was called Youth for Christ, stuff like that. I was very, very involved in a lot of things. So for me to be told at 18 I be in the wheelchair by the age of 30 was very detrimental to my mental health. Being told I could never have children. If I did, my body would fight the fetus off. So I just gave up and like, honestly, I was in Darvocet in the basement, and like watch real world and just said My mind was just junk. Because I just like might as well live vicariously through someone else. Since I can't leave my basement. Moving on, I ended up getting pregnant have a daughter with Tuberous...
