I will be looking forward to interviewing Dr. Beth Ballinger. The emphasis of the show will be on behavioral vision. Dr. Ballinger has a tremendous behavioral optometric practice in Newport Beach, California. In addition to working with patients who have blurred vision or eye disease, Dr. Ballinger works with kids and adults with learning challenges. She also works with infants who have developmental problems. In addition, she works with and helps treat patients who have autism, Down's Syndrome and a host of other neurological problems. We will be discussing her examination and treatment of these patients. I've known Dr. Ballinger for over 30 years. Her compassion and love for optometry and the patients she works with is second to none. Her warmth and love for the profession, I'm sure, will come through during the interview.

We will be having two guests appearing on the show. Dr. David Sendrowski is an optometrist and a professor at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall P. Ketchum University in Fullerton, CA. Dr. Franklin Lusby is a board certified ophthalmologist out of Loma Linda University in California. Dr. Sendrowski will be discussing the effects of viruses on the eye. Included in this is a timely discussion of measles and its effect on the eye. Shingles and Herpes will also be covered. Dr. Lusby will be discussing refractive surgery. He will go over which patients are good candidates for surgery and which ones are not. He will describe the various technologies available and how they differ from those offered almost 20 years ago.

The surgeries include those for individuals whose eyes aren't straight and for lids that droop. She also works with accident victims who have suffered from fractures around the eye socket. Also she works with patients who have tumors around the eyes that need removal. Dr. Agarwal also works with patients who have neurological conditions that affect one's vision. brbr Dr. Agarwal has lectured extensively. She is extremely knowledgeable as well as entertaining. I am looking forward to interviewing her.

Good Vision Is More Than 20/20

Our introductory broadcast will briefly describe the importance of vision as relates to education, sports and performance in the workplace. It is a lot more than just having 20/20. I’ll be discussing a few interesting cases that I’ve treated with the use of spectacles and contact lenses This includes the treatment of a patient who walked into walls after brain surgery and how we treated her with prisms. Finally I’ll be describing some of the content of the future shows and the guests that we have appearing, many of who are experts in their area of eye or vision care. These areas include lasik, vision training, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, sports vision, treatment of vison problems after concussion and some of the technology used.
