♫ Lausch! @ OMD-Afterhour, Spectrum-MTW (01-10-21) (Omen-Memorial-Day 2001 - official Afterhour at Spectrum-MTW, Offenbach) [1h:15min] ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ INFO: Welch eine Freude, zu diesem für mich sehr besonderen Anlass musizieren zu dürfen! Nur die Tonabnehmer wollten an dem Abend nicht so ganz mitspielen, schon relativ zu Beginn meines Sets sprang die eine Nadel mal (~24 Min). Nun jut, kommt ja mal vor - alles gecheckt, kein Staub, Vinyl und Geräte okay; hm, viell. zu viel Vibrationen. Also gut, etwas weniger Bässe und weiter im Programm. Der Audio-Schock war flott verdaut und die Reise ging weiter. Bis die Nadel 'ne knappe halbe Stunde später (~56 Min) wieder zu entgleisen begann bzw. zu jedem Beat aus den Rillen sprang. Oh no! Und nun war das Ding gänzlich kaputt, end-of-(needle-)life. Bis Ersatz organisiert war, hatte es ein wenig gedauert. Bis dahin waren leider die Übergänge zum Kratzen und Springen verurteilt. - Verdammt, das tat mir so leid, für jeden. Naja, ein paar Platten später war der ersehnte Systemersatz da. Zwar war mein musikalischer Flow erstmal mächtig angekratzt... aber natürlich ging's dann steil weiter! ;-p Die mir in die Quere gekommenen Merkwürdigkeiten schmälerten übrigens letztlich nicht die Gesamt-Freude an diesem super-tollen Event. Eher verstand ich sie als Bonus - denn ich hatte dabei etwas Wichtiges gelernt: fortan hatte ich für den Notfall stets auch meine eigenen Nadeln und Systeme als Ersatz dabei ;-p. The first half of the show, Jens conjured truely delicious and I was then allowed to take over the second part. Together with a great guest squad we boiled it for four hours. That's what you'll need for my set recorded at Villa Stuermer. That I would play so long for the birthday of a very dear friend in the Villa Sturmer came surprisingly. Anyway, such a long set has been far ago for me. But that's exactly what I love most of all! And so it was a fantastic pleasure for me to play until just before the end of the evening. Surrounded by and in the midst of very great friends, to make music for them, just was so beautiful. How they were with me and with me in the music, how they followed me into it and went on that journey together with me... above all, that they let me do this and gave me the place for this is a really special honor to me! In addition, I had worked nicely with manual work on the record players using timecode vinyl; the possibility to touch music genuinely creates a vast amount of joy. All this energy together made this evening indescribably beautiful. Thank you, Stan! Now, splitted into two parts, this is the recording of the complete set. I would love to share it with you... If you would go on that journey with me once again, it would be a huge pleasure to me. - Dive in, do not jump through. Listen ;-) (For the audiophiles among you it must be mentioned, that the mixer there showed some age weakness. So some times some controls crackle and a few times the left or right channel fails for very short moments. Also the low frequencies had to remain a bit below normal, this causes that the overall sound image of the tracks is not balanced in this recording. Die werdet Ihr nämlich für mein Set aus der Villa Stürmer brauchen. Dass ich so lange zum Geburtstag eines ganz lieben Freundes in der Villa Stürmer spielen würde, kam überraschend. Überhaupt ist so ein langes Set für mich schon einige Zeit her gewesen. Genau das liebe ich aber am allermeisten! Und so wurde es für mich zu einem fantastischen Genuß bis kurz vor Feierabend zu spielen. Umgeben und inmitten von ganz tollen Freunden, für sie musizieren zu dürfen, war auf den Punkt gebracht wunderschön. Wie sie bei und mit mir in der Musik waren, mir darin folgten und mit mir auf eine gemeinsame Reise gingen - vor allem, dass sie mich ließen und mir hierfür den Platz einräumten, ist mir eine wirklich besondere Ehre! Hinzu kam noch, dass ich schön mit Handarbeit an den Plattenspielern per Timecode-Vinyl gearbeitet hatte; denn die Musik wahrhaftig anfassen können, bereitet unendlich viel Freude. Alles zusammen machte diesen Abend für mich unbeschreiblich schön. Danke, Stan! Dies ist nun in zwei Teilen der Mitschnitt des ganzen Sets. Ich möchte ihn so gerne mit Euch teilen... Wenn Ihr also noch mal mit auf diese Reise gehen würdet, wäre das eine große Freude für mich. - Eintauchen, nicht durchspringen. So kratzt ein paar Mal der ein oder andere Regler und wenige Male sind links/rechts-Ausfälle zu hören. Außerdem mussten die Bässe etwas rausgedreht bleiben, wodurch in der Aufnahme das Gesamtklangbild der Tracks nicht ausgeglichen ist. Interessant ist daneben, wie die Aufnahme insgesamt einen eigenen Klangcharakter bekommen hat.)
