From parenting to interpersonal dynamics, we'll discuss how it encourages trust, open communication, and a balance between individual autonomy and shared responsibilities. Discover the origins of this phrase, rooted in the biblical teachings of the Gospel of Matthew (6:3), where Jesus advises doing acts of charity in secret. We'll delve into its cultural interpretations, examining its relevance in various contexts and its broader meaning over time. In the realm of fatherhood and relationships, we'll explore how this principle emphasizes humility, selflessness, and the significance of acting with sincerity. Abolish Fear-Based Assumptions

11/23/2023
Ep 9 Fear-based assumptions can lead to a parent-child relationship of pain, drama and heartache for all involved. As fathers we often lash out at our kids in order to protect them from the unknown, or to prevent them from getting involved with something that we don't understand but are afraid to admit it. In this episode let's explore another way to approach fatherhood in the New Year 1. What does it mean for a father to actively listen to his children and not assume he knows everything? 2. How can fathers instill fear of God and not fear of the world in their daughters? 3. What is the importance of self-control, communication, and emotional connection in fatherhood? As a father of nine, I have come to understand that assumptions about my children, myself, my family, and even my manhood can lead to pain, drama and headaches. I know that I cannot assume that one conversation is enough to teach my children, and I must actively listen and show them love and support. I must also be mindful that although I have experience, it does not make me an expert on my children's lives. I must be adaptable and have self-control, knowing that what I say will affect my children. I strive to speak life, prosperity, liberty, and innate spirit, teaching my children to be secure in themselves, and to be prepared and have the tools needed to protect themselves. Stop Being Your Child’s Friend, Start Being Their Leader

11/23/2023
Ep. 17 This episode is a must-listen for parents seeking guidance on discipline and communication with their children. In today's society, many parents walk around on eggshells, and it seems like fathers have no authority when it comes to raising the kids. As an advocate for traditional fatherhood, I have dedicated myself to helping other parents like you reclaim your power and raise kids who respect and obey you. It's important to establish boundaries and respect, rather than trying to be your child's friend. Issues of teen mental health issues, addiction, and other taboo subjects must be address properly. By advocating for open communication and a supportive community, I believe we can help our children become confident, successful adults. Discipline, Control + Power: Awareness for Black Men, Young Fathers

9/17/2023
Ep. 27 We must recognize that many of us lack self-awareness and struggle to comprehend the repercussions of losing control, and the importance of practicing self-discipline. To establish a healthy relationship with oneself and others, one must exert self-control and manage one's thoughts, which various emotional and developmental factors can influence. This is especially important to consider as a man and a father in today's world. THE TRUTH AND FAULTS OF DISCIPLINE It's essential to discipline your children early on, as you may regret it later if you don't. Additionally, if you find yourself bailing out hot-tempered individuals once, be prepared to do it again. This advice can be found in Proverbs 19:18-19 of the New Living Translation( NLT). ANSWER THE FOLLOWING IN THE COMMENTS Are you in control of your thoughts, or are they in control of you? Do you struggle to comprehend yourself and your awareness? Is there a support system in your life that you can turn to when you are experiencing difficulties with your emotions and thoughts? Maturing from Man-Child to Father

8/6/2023
Ep. 24 The idea of taking responsibility and being accountable can be intimidating for men who struggle with abandonment issues and commitment-related traumas. Some simply don't care about life or its lessons and behave poorly as a result. It is necessary to break these negative patterns and move on with life, taking responsibility for one's actions and learning from mistakes. This is ultimately the only way to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life for you and your children. Why Do I have to Grow-up Once I Have Kids? 1. Fathers who are mature and responsible can provide a positive role model for their children. Children learn a lot from observing and imitating their parents, especially their fathers. They can develop social skills, academic abilities, emotional regulation, and self-esteem by following their father’s example. 2. Having a child can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience for men, as they can bond with their child and share their love and wisdom. However, having a child also requires men to balance their work and family life, and to cope with the demands and challenges of parenthood. Men who act their age and manage their time and resources wisely can enjoy both aspects of their life without compromising one or the other. 3. Being a "grown-up" does not mean that men have to give up their hobbies, interests, or fun activities that they enjoy. It just means that they have to be more mindful of how their actions affect themselves, their partner, and their child. Being a father is not easy, but it can also be one of the most rewarding roles in life. 😊 SPONSORED BY CREATE A PIZZA: home of the FATHA TORCH Lunch Special Try the Vegan Meatball Pizza with Sexy Cheese and a Drink for only $5.99 766 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY Order Ahead at www.createapizza585.com Connect with Fatha Torch: Instagram: @FathaTorch Website: www.fathatorch.com ABIMILECHH FOUNDATION -Local Programs for Fathers Want to be a sponsor or guest on the podcast? Discipline Children While There is Hope, Otherwise You Will Ruin Their Lives

7/23/2023
Ep. 23 Being a father requires possessing proper guidance, self-control, and discipline. Discipline should be viewed as a tool to impart knowledge to children about making better decisions in the future rather than punishment. Communicating expectations and consequences calmly, firmly, and consistently is essential to ensure the child comprehends. It's crucial for both parents to work together to ensure the best possible outcome for their child. Proverbs 19:18 NLT "Discipline your children while there is hope. Otherwise, you will ruin their lives." Consistent and fair consequences are important for a child to understand the set boundaries and learn from mistakes. Praise and positive reinforcement should also be used to reward good behavior and to encourage a child's development. It is important to remember to remain consistent in the way consequences are enforced. Avoiding punishments or rewards that are overly harsh or lenient will help to ensure that the child understands the logic behind the consequences. This will enable them to learn to make better choices in the future. The Truth About Forgiveness: How to Make Peace with Yourself and Be Better for Your Kids

7/9/2023
Ep. 22 Translating forgiveness can be a challenging process, especially when grappling with emotions such as regret, anger, and confusion. It's crucial to clearly understand oneself to avoid getting lost in a world of pain. Taking the time to forgive is important in accepting the situation and moving forward in your journey to be the dad you wish you had. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting but rather understanding and accepting what has happened. It is a path to peace and a way to open the door to a brighter future. As men, we must learn to confront our pain and vulnerabilities head-on to attain redemption. Forgiveness, whether towards oneself or others, may appear unattainable, but dwelling on the negative only hinders the healing process. With the help of loved ones, we can create a nurturing environment that encourages growth and progress. Rather than clinging to familiarity, we should embrace the power of a supportive circle and allow ourselves to heal. This journey of self-discovery can be difficult and uncomfortable, but in the end, it will lead to a more meaningful life. The courage to change is within us, and we must believe in ourselves to find the strength to move forward. I Am FATHA: Fathers are the Highest Authority (It’s time we act like it)

5/28/2023
Ep. 20 As fathers, it's imperative that we possess a deep understanding of ourselves. The archaic notion of relying on guesswork to ascertain our worth and capabilities is a thing of the past. We must be cognizant of our duties and rights as fathers, and we shouldn't have to be reminded of this simply because we are fathers. Because we are men, it is our duty to protect our loved ones from any imminent danger without any apologies. We do not rely on mere likes or friend requests for a solution as we set the trend. But, with discipline and authority, we assist in your growth and prosperity and the development of our survival and legacy. Being honest and trustworthy is crucial. We must acknowledge our limitations and avoid attempting things beyond our abilities. Blindly following authority without questioning it is not a trait of a wise man. This mindset is a product of ignorance and a legacy of conquerors who ruled with authoritarianism, disregarding the feelings and situations of others while serving their wicked interests. Passing the Torch: Embracing Growth & Maturity as Men

5/15/2023
Ep. 19 Do you want to leave a positive legacy by shaping and guiding the next generation? As 'young elders' we can empower and inspire the youth to reach their full potential and become the leaders of tomorrow. In this episode of Fatha Torch, I, Rah, delve into the topic of the importance of becoming an elder and sharing wisdom with younger generations. As a father and mentor myself, I understand the need to pass down knowledge and experiences for future generations to learn and grow from. I discuss the four aspects of development - emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual - and how children need to learn how to handle each aspect to reach their full potential. I also touch on the self-destructive nature of gangster culture and the importance of fathers taking up their highest honor to create a space where their children can thrive and grow. In this episode, you will be able to: Embrace the vital role of becoming an elder in society to enrich lives by sharing your wisdom. Balance your growth in emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects for well-rounded development. Acknowledge the damaging effects of gang culture and violence on individuals and communities. Harness your innate power and knowledge for progress across all dimensions of your life. Cultivate essential qualities like discipline, humility, and inner guidance to excel as responsible fathers. Redefining Masculinity: Balance and Empathy in Relationships

4/2/2023
Ep. 16 Sitting in our favorite pizza joint, Create a Pizza, I felt a sense of peace as we shared a vegan meatball pizza. Little did I know, I was about to embark on a journey that would forever change my understanding of masculinity and empathy. As I conversed with my wife, I realized I had to adapt my behaviors to be a better husband and father. But what happened next was truly unexpected and has left me with a newfound appreciation for life's little moments. The resources mentioned in this episode are: Visit Creative Pizza at 766 Monroe Avenue, mention Father Torch and enjoy the $5.99 lunch special with a drink. Focus on understanding yourself and your own expectations in relationships, especially with your children and spouse. Make sure to respect and love your spouse, communicating openly and without belittling or disregarding their opinions and feelings. Adapt to your children's needs without losing the foundation of being a father, ensuring you maintain effective communication. Give your children the benefit of the doubt and avoid making assumptions based on their actions or the people they associate with. Develop a strong relationship with your children through dialogue and understanding, being open to their experiences and perspectives. Avoid bringing up past experiences to justify assumptions about your children's behavior and instead focus on the present situation. Understanding Relationships In relationships, it is essential to acknowledge the differences in how men and women approach them. Each partner comes with their unique views and expectations, often shaped by their personal experiences and upbringing. Understanding these differences is the first step towards building a strong foundation for a deeper connection with one's partner. When communication is clear and respectful, the relationship thrives, making it easier for both parties to navigate any difficulties that arise. Fathers represent authority, so they should be able to understand or overstand when something is out of order. - Rah SPONSORED BY CREATE A PIZZA: home of the FATHA TORCH Lunch Special Try the Vegan Meatball Pizza with Sexy Cheese and a Drink for only $5.99 766 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY Order Ahead at www.createapizza585.com Connect with Fatha Torch: Instagram: @FathaTorch Website: www.fathatorch.com ABIMILECHH FOUNDATION -Local Programs for Fathers Loved this episode? I was surrounded by men who were a waste of time, women who blocked the teaching of fatherhood, and people who were more excited to see a stranger than me. In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. How can you be the dad you wish you had without a good example? 2. What does it take for fathers who are not in the home to create a balanced family for their children? 3. What can we do to overcome the pain of our own past trauma in order to be a better father? What Men Fear the Most

3/5/2023
Ep 14 Men fear being unable to provide, being questioned as fathers, and being unable to protect our loved ones. Men often express fear in destructive ways such as aggression and anger, instead of vulnerability. As men we must be mindful of how we express our fear, as it can stifle the growth of relationships and cause resentment. Instead of relying on fear, we should focus on pouring love and protection into our relationships. "Love and fear are true motivation. It's only reason why we do anything." In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. What is the true motivation behind a man's actions. 2. How can fathers prevent themselves from stifling their children's growth? 3. How can fathers build meaningful connections with their partner while still setting boundaries and limits? Are You a Good Father? It All Comes Down to This

2/19/2023
Ep. 13 I was once plagued by the question, "Am I a good father?" I asked myself if I was a good man and what it meant to be a good father. After much thought and research, I realized that being a good father means having principles and characteristics such as protecting, loving, reasoning and being patient. It also means being willing to learn and humble yourself, while also being teachable and understanding of your child's mother. Being a good father is more than just providing and setting boundaries - it's about being honest, understanding and recognizing your role in your child's life. I now strive to be the best father I can be and to leave a legacy of love, respect and understanding. In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. What are the characteristics of a good father? 2. How can men build relationships with women who have children from previous relationships? 3. What makes a bad father and how can bad fathers make amends? Resources: Buy me a coffee or send a CashApp $RAHG76 Want to be a sponsor or guest on the podcast? My mission is to help you reclaim your power and ease your concerns about being a father in today's social climate. What do we do to define a good father? [00:00:43] Today's episode "Are you a good father?" What is the definition or characteristic of meaning of a good dad? To be a good man, you must have these principles. [00:04:40] Most of the women or most women that we are engaged with carry 100% of the past relationships. As manhood, man of the house, you must know how to set the laws and rules. A good man, a good father first is patient and always listening. And always willing to learn. [00:12:28] Bad fathers are the ones who do not want to learn or have not learned their lesson. Good father, bad father, you are still a father. You still have a chance and have the ability to be the best of the best father that you wish you had. [00:20:05] The biggest trend that I see now with fathers and fatherhood is that they got such a fight to to try to be in the children's life. Some of us fall for it. And we end up hurt, broke, it, destruct, bitter, angry. A good father, a bad father is still a father. [00:26:19] Fathers must get with other fathers. You never raise a child by yourself. It's always a village. But because we've fallen short on this, especially our black men, our brown men, we are falling short in the elders department. We can upgrade our fathering skills. [00:28:51] Let's make 23 the year of reconcile. The year of forgiveness. The year of just doing right. Check me out again next Sunday. www.Fathatorch. com Learn more about your ad choices. Finding Purpose and Reclaiming Fatherhood in 2023

1/15/2023
Episode 11: About last year.... Have faith in yourself. Believe in your abilities to make ends meet, to strive. Lower your pride and lower your ego, that you may do better this year. In this episode, you will learn the following: What are the double standards men face in today's social climate, and what can fathers do to help themselves and their children? How can fathers practice self-love, gratitude, and protect their families in the midst of a chaotic world? What can fathers do to empower their children and provide them with the tools to succeed, even when they are no longer around? Last year was a year of depression, hopelessness, and disparities, particularly for men. Fathers need to practice healthy habits, self-love, and gratitude to be a successful father. We should give our children the tools they need to succeed and guard them, but not helicopter over them. We must practice what we preach, take charge of ourselves, and be men of the time to be successful in this ever-changing world.
