Whether its shifting a book into a film, or a video game into a TV series, Hollywood will never cease to take advantage of preexisting audiences in order to create a safer and, hopefully, more successful product than something completely original. And while adapting existing properties is a good thing in many ways, it does pose its own unique set of challenges that must be addressed, the biggest one being how much needs to change when pulling a property from one medium to the next?
