238 - The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) Review
11/18/2024
A local coroner team of father and son, investigate the mysterious death surrounding a Jane Doe over one night.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe is led by a cast of Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch, who do an excellent job in this movie investigating the death of a mysterious dead girl. They work off each other so well and as they continue to learn more about their subject, their reactions to the strange occurrences that are happening is very entertaining. With a small cast, this movie shines and continues to get creepier as the film progresses. Watch the movie and catch our review.

237 - The Black Phone (2021) Review
11/11/2024
When a young boy is kidnapped and locked in a basement, amidst a string of child disappearances, he beings to receive calls from the killer's previous victims from a dead phone.
The Black Phone is an ominous movie that takes place in the late 70s and gives the tone that a serial killer is striking. Ethan Hawke plays a deeply disturbed killer known as "The Grabber" who drives around in a black van, kidnapping young boys, and bringing them down into his basement. Hawke is very creepy in his role and it's clear that his character has so much more going on than what is shown on-screen and the film keeps the audience guessing. While the movie isn't perfect, it's an entertaining thriller with a solid ending. Watch the movie and catch our review.

236 - ThanksKilling (2008) Review
11/4/2024
College kids on Thanksgiving break are preyed upon by a killer Thanksgiving turkey.
ThanksKilling is a cult classic horror comedy movie that puts college kids up against a killer Thanksgiving turkey. The characters and kills are crazy, and the one-liners from the turkey are what make this movie fun. While this movie has its flaws, it makes the most of a low budget and is an entertaining Thanksgiving horror movie. Watch the movie and catch our review.

135 - Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) Review
10/28/2024
Michael Myers returns Haddonfield on a mission to kill his mute niece.
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers takes place one year after Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and brings Michael back to Haddonfield to take out his mute niece. In typical Halloween style, Michael drives cars, swims, and teleports his way to crazy kills. As always, it's always a pleasure to see Dr. Loomis continue to command the entire town of Haddonfield against Michael. Watch the movie and catch our review.

Final Friday: Scary Tales: Dark Walker (2024)
10/25/2024
Strangers mysteriously wake up in a strange house and attempt to survive attacks by aliens, zombies, Bigfoot, the Muffin Man as well as a being known as The Dark Walker.
It's Friday! We're back to discuss a new Geno McGahee movie titled, Scary Tales: Dark Walker. The movie opens up with the character charm we know and love from McGahee. The film places its protagonist and main characters in a fight for survival against strange beings who are trying to kill them for reasons the characters as well as the audience may not know. The movie references back to McGahee classics and the craziness of the film is always a joy. Watch the movie and catch our review.

234 - Night of the Demons (1988) Review
10/21/2024
Teenagers encounter evil at a party in a funeral parlor on Halloween night, which prevents them from leaving and puts them in a fight for survival against demons.
Night of the Demons is considered a cult classic, Halloween horror movie, but after watching, not much happens. It's not good, it's not bad, but once thing is for certain, the movie gets weird. These demons are not only looking to kill, but they are very sexual. Watch the movie and catch our review.

233 - All Hollows' Eve (2013) Review
10/14/2024
A babysitter for two children on Halloween night discovers a tape among their candy bags featuring three horror stories. Each story is linked by a murderous clown and after starting the tape, strange occurrences take place in the house.
All Hollows' Eve is the first feature-length film directed by Damien Leone, best known for the Terrifier movies. What's interesting about All Hollows' Eve is that it depicts Art the Clown prior to the Terrifier movies. In this film, he's portrayed as a killer clown among a series of short horror films in a video tape discovered in a bag of Halloween candy. We enjoy horror anthology movies and found two of the three short horror films in this movie to be very entertaining. However, one of the films seemed very out-of-place. 232 - Hatchet III (2013) Review
10/7/2024
A recovery team heads to the Honey Island Swamp to search for any survivors as Marybeth discovers the secret to putting an end to the curse of Victor Crowley.
Spooky Season is upon us and it only makes sense to kick off October with Victor Crowley. Hatchet III is another fun sequel from this slasher series that always turns up the kills and the fun. In this film, a search and rescue team attempt to look for the whereabouts of any survivors after the events of the previous movie. While the focus is a bit different, the theme of large groups of people heading to the Honey Island Swamp and getting horribly murdered by Victor Crowley remains the same. This series does an amazing job of keeping the content fresh and providing laughs along the way. Watch the movie and catch our review.

231 - Scream 4 (2011) Review
9/30/2024
After 10 years have passed, Sidney Prescott is haunted again by the Ghostface Killer when her cousin becomes a target.
The last movie we are discussing in Sequel September is Scream 4. Wes Craven comes back with a banger as this film continues the fun of having charming characters centered around an entertaining mystery. As we come to expect from Scream movies, the writing is very clever and the parody is hilarious. The movie has a strong cast who put together great performances and make the film one of the best in the series. Watch the movie and catch our review.

230 - 3 From Hell (2019) Review
9/23/2024
The Firefly group continue their onslaught of murder after the barely make their way out of prison alive.
3 From Hell is the 3rd installment in the movies following the Firefly clan directed by Rob Zombie. We've been critical of Rob Zombie's movies on this show and this film left much to be desired. We didn't think a sequel could be made after the ending of The Devil's Rejects, but nonetheless, another sequel was made and this is unfortunately, the worst of the three. Watch the movie and catch our review.

229 - I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006) Review
9/18/2024
After a deadly prank and coverup, a group of teenagers in a small Colorado town find themselves to be the prey of a killer of legend.
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer is a movie that draws slight references to the first film and attempts to bring back the fisherman killer with the hook, but is unable to bring the tale back to life. Taking place in a Colorado town, which appears to be far more mountainous that coastal, references the seafaring killer in a way that doesn't make sense with where they are. The accidental death of a friend in a prank sparks the legend and the killings, but does not deliver. After providing a ton of potential killers, this movie takes the worst route with the ending reveal of who the killer is and had us stunned. Watch the movie and catch our review.

228 - Return to House on Haunted Hill (2007) Review
9/12/2024
Years following the escape of Sara and Eddie from the former asylum, Sara's sister, Ariel, attempts to discover the truth behind the house.
In the second week of Sequel September, we discuss Return to House on Haunted Hill. A movie that is so bad, it's so fun to watch. We had a soft spot for the House on Haunted Hill and couldn't wait to watch the sequel once we found out one came out. The movie involves irrelevant plot lines that are so ridiculous, we have to laugh. Watch the movie and catch our review.

227 - Final Destination 5 (2011) Review
9/4/2024
Death comes for the survivors of a bridge collapse, who start dying one by one.
Sequel September has arrived and as per tradition, we discuss another Final Destination movie, this time it's Final Destination 5. While it's better than the previous film in the series, it's not the best as the kills get more and more ridiculous. The movie adds a new element to avoid death, which doesn't make sense for a prequel, but does have a good ending. Watch the movie and catch our review.

226 - Feast (2005) Review
8/28/2024
Bar patrons are forced inside by unruly monsters looking to kill them.
Feast is a horror comedy with the premise of pitting an unlikely array of characters together to fight back against monsters trying to kill them for somewhat unknown reasons. The film lives and dies by the characters as the overall story lacks depth, and uses its characters to represent many horror movie tropes in their fight against the monsters. Watch the movie and catch our review.

225 - You're Next (2011) Review
8/21/2024
A wedding anniversary at the Davidson home, turns bloody after home invaders start killing the family off one by one, except that they killers will soon realize one victim has a talent for fighting back.
You're Next is a movie we are long overdue reviewing and are happy to get to it. It's a memorable home invasion horror movie and although very predictable, it's an entertaining film. Adam Wingard does a great job making character information available to the viewer before all the characters start being hunted. Watch the movie and catch our review.

224 - Vicious Fun (2020) Review
8/12/2024
Joel, a film critic for a horror magazine, stumbles upon a support group of serial killers and attempts to blend in with the group or become their victim.
Vicious Fun is exactly as the title suggests, a heck of a lot of fun. As far as comedy horrors go, it's one of the best in a while and it's a movie that ups the ante at every turn, keeping us on the edge of our seats for the entire duration of the film. The movie has a strong cast with a great appearance from David Koechner and blends humor with bloody kills in a wild ride that horror fans will love. Watch the movie and catch our review.

223 - Lord of Illusions (1995) Review
8/5/2024
A private detectives investigates the circumstances surrounding the death of a cult leader and a missing magician, Philip Swan.
We're excited to discuss another Clive Barker movie. Lord of Illusions is an interest movie that discusses the utilization of different types of magic and illusions and how to harvest that power. It's always fun to watch an original story that has several characters come together for a deeper purpose. While not on the level of Hellraiser, this movie is engaging and has wildly interesting characters. Watch the movie and catch our review.

222 - The Ritual (2017) Review
7/29/2024
A group of friends take a reunion trip to Sweden where they encounter a presence following them in the woods.
The Ritual is our last movie in Travel Horror month and this film delivers. The movie has both creature feature and psychological horror elements that combine to create on-screen horror. We're used to watching movies where the creature is built up and usually is a let down, but this creature has a creepy design and is worth the wait. The movie kept us engaged with the protagonist backstory, bloody kills, and the presence of a cult. Watch the movie and catch our review.

221 - Eden Lake (2008) Review
7/22/2024
A remote lake in the country for a couple turns violent when they start getting harassed by a group of local kids.
Eden Lake stars Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender, who both have great performances in a movie that is very bleak and hard to watch. While the movie is very entertaining, it's very frustrating to watch and see local kids terrorize a couple who for the most part are keeping to themselves. It's a film that doesn't get better for the protagonists as it goes on, but has a very engaging story. Watch the movie and catch our review.

220 - The Ruins (2008) Review
7/17/2024
A vacation to Mexico takes an ugly turn when a group of friends meet up with a tourist and head to a dig site where an evil awaits them.
The Ruins is one of the more interesting movies we've seen. This is not the first time we've seen this film and it always ends with us being disappointed by a few needless parts that hurt the film. After watching it again, our thoughts still hold on this movie. It's a fun watch with a good story, but the plot takes some unexpected turns that make us question the writing. Watch the movie and catch our review.
