This one’s a doozy (and a ducky): a simple white feathered duck becomes a god, and annihilates all of humanity, leaving two young children as the sole survivors. This week, we watched a brand new, long in the making film based on a beloved ride and a teen musical movie that not many people have seen (partly because it’s glitchy on Hulu). It’s Jungle Cruise starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Next Level from the company that produced another Green Light featured film, No Escape Room. This week, we watched the 2020 horror movie Spree and the 2018 horror movie No Escape Room… big week for the genre! But that’s not all they have in common- both of these movies were fairly small budget projects, and only one of them really felt like it. Both of these movies also aren’t that well-known! While Spree has some decently big stars (and some very famous producers, at least in the hip hop world), it hasn’t been all over Twitter as one may expect. It’s about a Spree driver (like Uber or Lyft) who starts murdering riders to go viral. Thankfully, most of them are jerks. No Escape Room is pretty self-explanatory.
