Drummer Max Kelly’s syncopated rock drumming and complex keyboard riffs combine with frontman Keith Shacklett’s powerful bass playing and soaring vocals to produce a sound that far eclipses the size of the ensemble. After nearly 15,000 hours of close collaboration, the pair have emerged with a telepathic chemistry, freakish talent, and an electrifying sound entirely their own. Their new EP ‘Sounds + Haptics’ puts that on full display and makes one fact abundantly clear: in an oversaturated industry and attention-deficient world, this band is worth your time. Thanks to their efforts at taking matters into their own hands, STT can create and release songs, podcasts, live online concerts, and more with no rules. Free from the confines of a scene or part of any genre wave, like the wild moss their name translates to. They have conjured a rare album, quite of its own but nostalgic in only the best way. A band that manages to capture a sense of golden moments in Finnish music, naturally and without pretensions. Vocals that soar confidently and warmly with beautiful lyrics which, though sung entirely in Finnish, are entirely relatable due to the passion in the voice and beauty of the compositions, made more arcane by the sentiments the sound evokes. Lyrics translated inside the booklet are a magic discovery of a band that inspires more about their culture and heart than most well known Finnish bands today. Antonio began playing the guitar at age 13 having Mark Knopfler as his main musical influence and using fingerpicking as his preferred style. Since he was 18, he has learned technique and modern harmony with different teachers. From 2000, Antonio has been focusing on the idea of developing his own compositions, and after four years of work Juanjo Sánchez (keyboard} and Keeng {The Satellites) joined the project that would finally take shape as The Flying Caravan. However, it was when Izaga Plata (vocals–Head Over Hell) entered back in 2014 that she and Antonio developed the melodies and lyrics that would make up the album. With the arrival of Pedro Pablo Molina (bass player-El Interior), Lluís Mas (drummer-Pyramidal, Adam Giles Levy) and Juanjo´s return to the band, the project got established. The band recorded “I Just Wanna Break Even” at the Facultad de Bellas Artes of the UMH in Altea (Alicante) between May and August 2017 with Daniel Montiel as a recording engineer and Lluís Mas and Antonio Valiente as producers, after several recording sessions and a two-year production period. The audio mixing and mastering were carried out at Lluís Mas (Oriental Desert Studio Audio). The album features the extraordinary collaborations of Manolo Salido (sax-M Clan, Loquillo), Juan Carlos Aracil (flute- El Bicho, Tino di Geraldo) and Jorge Aniorte (voice-Liverpool Band).
