After nearly half a century in office, Senator Leahy is coming home. In this episode, WCAX's Calvin Cutler and Brett Miller talk to Chris Graff, longtime Vermont journalist and former AP Vermont bureau chief, about Leahy's time in office and what his legacy will be nationally and in his home state of Vermont. Calvin Cutler and Brett Miller talk to Middlebury political science professor Bert Johnson about Tuesday's winners and losers, discuss the happenings at the Vermont Democratic Party's election night celebration, and ponder what their walk-up music would be if they were the ones taking to the podium to declare victory.

With just days to go before Election Day 2022, Calvin and Brett go down the ballot reviewing each race and proposed amendment Vermonters will vote on this year. They also discuss what makes a candidate newsworthy and reminisce about the first Election Nights they ever worked.

Vermont is the only state that hasn't sent a woman to Capitol Hill. This week Calvin and Brett talk to former Vermont AP Bureau Chief Chris Graff about why that is. Plus hear from Becca Balint, who could make history as the first woman Vermont sends to Congress. Brett also spoke to Vt. Democratic Party chair Anne Lezak about sending a woman to Congress, and Vt. GOP chair Paul Dame about the GOP’s efforts to elect a Republican woman to represent the state in Washington, D.C.
