KYW's Vik Raghupathi caught up with a few in south Philly who were stocking up on supplies: How to rein in skyrocketing energy prices amid shrinking supply and rising demand was the topic of a four-hour hearing in Harrisburg, with lawmakers hearing from a panel including grid managers, consumer advocates, and company executives. KYW's suburban bureau chief Jim Melwert reports: The missing 10-year-old southwest Philadelphia boy has been found — unharmed in Delaware County. The KYW Newsradio All-Local: Monday, Jan. 19 (Morning Edition) : A beloved high school track coach and his wife were killed when their SUV drove into the side of a house in Mullica Hill, Gloucester county Saturday night. The driver and passenger of the car -- 72-year-old Thomas Hengel and his wife, 61-year-old Lisa Hengel, both of Mullica hill. The accident happened around 6:30 on Banff drive, not far from high street and route 45. The car rammed into the living room on the first floor of the home. none of the people inside the house were injured. Thomas Hengel was a retired track coach at clearview high school and was inducted into the Gloucester county sports hall of fame in 2018. neighbors are heartbroken.. Mike Misuraco spoke with our news partners from NBC10. ... Community leaders in media, Delaware county–including the local branch of the n-double-a-c-p–honored four local activists sunday for the difference they make. Cheltenham High hazing investigation finds ‘toxic’ culture in football program

More than a dozen students witnessed a violent assault in a Cheltenham High School football locker room last September and did nothing to stop it. Those are the findings of a third-party investigation into reports of hazing that led to the cancellation of the team's season. We get more from KYW’s Conner Barkon… The district attorneys from Montgomery and Berks counties testified at a State Senate hearing on the hemp industry, urging lawmakers to rein in smoke shops who the D-As say are selling marijuana – often to teens, pretending it’s hemp. KYW Suburban Bureau Chief Jim Melwert explains: Charges are being dropped against La’Quetta Small, wife of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, who was recently found not guilty of child abuse. La’Quetta, who is the Atlantic City School Superintendent, was also facing child abuse charges from alleged incidents at their home involving their teen daughter. Charges against AC High School principal Constance Days-Chapman were also dismissed by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. She is a long-time family friend and was accused of failing to properly report the alleged abuse. Prosecutor Williams Reynolds spoke with the daughter after Mayor Small’s trial and says it is prudent and responsible to dismiss the remaining charges. Reynolds hopes the family and community can heal and move on. In what is likely his final act before leaving office, Governor Phil Murphy announced a new partnership with tech giant Nvidia to usher New Jersey’s colleges into the next generation of AI. KYW South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty has details. Officials in Delaware County are changing their council public meeting times.
