She's the North Jersey congresswoman and former navy helicopter pilot, who promises to push back against President Trump. She defeats businessman and former state assembly Jack Ciattarelli, who embraced the president. KYW Newsradio's Mike DeNardo is at Sherrill's campaign headquarters as she claims victory. ### Supporters of New Jersey Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Jack Ciattarelli expressed deep disappointment that Mikie Sherrill will be the next governor saying Ciattarelli's loss will be felt in the coming years and that Sherrill is not the person to lead the state. ### Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner won a third term handily in a second matchup of the year with retired judge Pat Dugan, who ran as a Democrat in the primary, but flipped to Republican for another go. We're expecting to hear from Krasner on his victory today. He did not talk last night, though he posted on social media, "We did it! Thank you Philly! Let's get to work." KYW Newsradio's Nigel Thompson was at Dugan's election headquarters in Northeast Philly when he conceded. ### Three Pennsylvania Supreme Court Judges retained their seats, despite an unprecedented campaign to oust them. Days after a massive fire tore through a South Jersey apartment building, officials say one woman has died from her injuries. ... Philadelphia voters today will choose the District Attorney, City Controller and a slate of Common Pleas and Municipal Court judges. ... New Jersey voters will select a new Governor today to replace term-limited democrat Phil Murphy. ... The Trump administration says it will partially fund snap after a pair of judges’ rulings required payments from the food aid program to continue. ... The Morrisville school district in bucks county warns its public schools could close at the end of January if it does not receive funding. In a letter to parents today, superintendent Dr. Andrew Doster says in part the district has done everything it could to stretch their resources. This comes as US and Pennsylvania legislators remain at an impasse on federal and state funding bills. The letter says a potential closure would include all in-person and virtual learning, transportation, and athletics, among other services. Delaware county's William Penn school district gave a similar warning last week. Both school systems say more than half of their operating budget is funded by the state.

District attorneys from Philadelphia’s collar counties join Pennsylvania’s attorney general to announce the results of a sting targeting illegal drugs from Philadelphia that are shipped out to dealers in the suburbs. ... The KYW Newsradio All-Local: Monday, November 3 (Morning Edition): Pennsylvania voters tomorrow will decide whether to retain three of the state's Supreme Court justices. A lot of money from both conservative and liberal groups has been spent on this usually-low-profile race, and others: Several suburban school boards have been targeted too. ... A new Triple-A study shows while drivers are aware of "slow down, move over" laws, there's confusion about what they mean. ... The family of a middle school student who was attacked with a travel mug last spring is suing the North Penn School District. ... A father and son are recovering after they were caught in a crossfire in the city's Holmesberg section Sunday evening. Investigators say a 40-year-old man and his 14-year-old son were talking with friends on the 4700 block of Vista Street around 6:30pm when two groups of people got into a confrontation nearby. Members of both groups pulled out weapons and opened fired at each other, police say. Both father and son were struck by stray bullets -- both were shot in the stomach and the father was also shot in the arm. They were taken to nearby hospitals and are listed in stable condition. Authorities don't believe anyone in either groups that fired at each other were hurt. Anyone with information is urged to call police.

Hundreds gathered at Rittenhouse Square Park this afternoon to honor the life and legacy of legendary Philadelphia disk jockey, WMMR's Pierre Robert. KYW Newsradio’s Shara Dae Howard was there for the tribute. ### A 14-year-old boy was shot on a Broad Street Line platform on Temple University's campus in North Philadelphia Saturday night. Police say this happened at 8:30 at the Cecil B. Moore station on the southbound platform. The boy was shot twice in the hip and rushed to the hospital, where he's expected to recover. Police say they took three people into custody a few blocks away, one of them is the suspected shooter. ### A fire at a condominium complex in Montgomery County triggered two alarms and destroyed three homes. Several people have been displaced, they had to go out into the cold overnight during the frost advisory. This happened around 2:00am at the Heritage Park condominiums in Trappe, right off Main Street near Collegeville. Residents tell NBC10 neighbors were banging on people's doors in the middle of the night telling them to get out. The fire is now getting under control. Fire officials say no one was hurt. No word yet on what caused the fire. ### Mayor Parker has announced a plan for the nearly 500-thousand city residents who may go without SNAP benefits this month. She signed an executive order to launch the "One Philly SNAP Support Plan." City officials say the plan will deliver $14-million-dollars to food distribution efforts across the city. $7-million of the funds came from the Parker administration, $1-million from the state, and $6-million came from charities. Funds will be provided to small markets and corner stores to keep food available in every Philly neighborhood. Roughly 42-million Americans in total rely on SNAP benefits. Gina Plata-Nino, SNAP director at the Food Research and Action Center, says this suspension is affecting the most vulnerable Americans... Officials in Philly encourage residents to use their online Food and Meal Finder at phila-dot-gov-slash-food, to find free groceries and public benefits near them. ### Its two days to election day. And it's the last day of early voting in New Jersey. Saturday, former President Obama was in the Garden State rallying for democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill... Meanwhile, the Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli blamed democrats for the government shutdown but says it will end soon... Bucks County crash leaves 3 teens dead, 1 extremely critical

Three teenagers are dead and one is critically injured after a car crash in Bucks County last night (Friday). KYW’s Sunny Morgan has the details. A man is dead after a hit and run in North Philadelphia early this morning. Philadelphia Police say it happened at 1 a.m. on Girard Avenue just a block off Broad Street... a black SUV was traveling eastbound when it made a U-turn into the westbound lane and hit a 60-year-old man standing in the middle of the street. Authorities say the SUV then fled westbound without stopping. The man was taken to the hospital, where he died just before 1:40, he's been identified as Kevin Williams. Police continue to investigate the incident. The clock starts again for SEPTA, which now has two more weeks to complete fire inspections on regional rail cars. KYW's Mike DeNardo as the details. A firefighter was hurt, four others injured, and more than 100 people are now displaced after an apartment fire in Gloucester Township, Camden County early this morning. Authorities say the FIRE call came in around 2:15 and police officers and firefighters responded to the Autumn Ridge Apartment Complex at 1501 Little Gloucester Road, and found heavy smoke coming from one of the complex buildings. Eight fire engines from across South Jersey responded to the scene , and more than 100 people were evacuated from the 40 apartment units in the complex. Five people were hurt, including a firefighter who sustained minor burns and is listed in stable condition. An evacuated resident is critical, and the three others in stable condition. All residents are now displaced. They're being helped by The Red Cross and Office of Emergency Management. The fire brought under control just before 6:20 this morning. The Camden County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. SNAP funding for approximately 42 million Americans ran out today, but a pair of federal judges ruled yesterday that the Trump Administration must tap into a contingency fund to continue making SNAP payments. However, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins says keeping SNAP in business with emergency funds could present some obstacles.

Governor Josh Shapiro was at a food bank in Philadelphia today/Friday where he announced state action to support food assistance as the federal government gets ready to freeze November SNAP payments to nearly two million Pennsylvanians. KYW's John McDevitt reports … In New Jersey, about 800-thousand people rely on SNAP benefits. Elected officials and some business owners are trying to fill the gaps. Details from KYW South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty. SEPTA is getting two more weeks to finish fire inspections on its regional rail cars. KYW's Mike DeNardo reports... To the Northeast, where someone stole a car with four kids inside -- and crashed it. Happened in Oxford Circle. Police say a woman parked the car outside a laundromat on Castor Avenue and left the engine running -- with the children inside. Cops say a teenager stole the car, crashed it about half a mile away and then ran off. Police are still looking for him. The children were not hurt. The youngest is just two months old. Hurricane Melissa is now moving away from Bermuda and heading towards Newfoundland. The category one hurricane is expected to bring flooding rain and gusty winds to the Canadian provine late tonight and into tomorrow. Melissa killed at least 28 people in the Caribbean -- 19 of them are in Jamaica. Seventy two percent of the island is still without power and many areas are still difficult to reach, because entire roads and bridges have been wiped out. A Philly basketball camp with ties to Jamaica is springing right into action to help with recovery efforts. KYW Community Impact Reporter Racquel Williams explains…

The man accused of killing hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew in a DUI accident last summer appeared in court for a miranda hearing. ....
