Then it was off to Costco to restock things like flour, sugar, agave syrup and BBQ sauce. $256. And I’m not alone. Steve spent $300 on food this weekend, for just him, for the week. I am now terrified that I won’t be able to afford good, whole food. And no one, NO ONE is addressing this. What does Trump say? “I’m not concerned at all...” About 25% more for cars. To find out, we spoke to Dr. Sara Burke, associate professor and director of the Centre for Health Policy and Management in Trinity College Dublin’s School of Medicine. She is the Principal Investigator of a research project entitled 'Health system foundations for Sláintecare implementation in 2020 and beyond …’ and Co-Director of SPHeRE, Ireland’s national research training program for population health, policy and health services research. With 80,000 new members organized, great successes at the negotiating table including many of their best contracts ever like at UPS and Anheuser-Busch, an empowered rank-and-file membership that has waged over 250 strikes and led bargaining themselves against some of the world’s largest employers, the O’Brien-Zuckerman administration has charted one of the most defining and positive chapters in Teamsters history. Next, Sean shares with the audience the Union's contract campaign with their 10,000 Teamsters aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs). They're fighting for a fair contract with United, who raked in over $4 billion dollars in profits last year, but is lowballing the Teamsters at the bargaining table. At the same time, the airline wants to outsource maintenance to communist China and South America. Sean explains how United Airlines Teamsters are ensuring safety in the skies, and that Teamster members will not accept anything less than a strong new contract with the industry-leading wages and job protections they have earned. Lastly, Leslie and Sean discuss how, following a credible strike threat, more than 1,000 newly organized drivers and warehouse workers at United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) in Florida, Georgia, and Illinois have ratified their first Teamsters contracts. It’s Not The People We Should Platform, It’s the Ideas Karel Cast 25-41 There’s a petition from Democrats to demand Gavin Newsom stop platforming extreme Right people. And I agree, we don’t need to give these people any more oxygen. But to dismiss their ideas, their arguments, or their issues prematurely, at least some of them, may be just too dismissive. For instance. Vaccines. Are they safe, all of them? No. They are not. And I am living proof. My life has almost been ruined by the Shingrix Vaccine from GlaxoSMithKline. And thousands of others as well. But science finds that acceptable for the good of the many. But what if YOU’RE the one? Why release something that could do those things to more than 100 people total? So RFKJr has a point, he’s just obtuse and misguided. The Department of Education. We all agree Education in the USA is broken. We charge too much to college kids to go and have an entire bureaucracy setup to handle their loans. We underpay teachers, schools have become shooting galleries. And kids are coming out of the system complete idiots. Something is wrong and reform should start on the federal level. Abolishing isn’t the answer, expanding its mandate is but we can all agree, it’s broken. Government: There’s not one of us that thinks it has ever truly worked well. The post office is a mess, but privatizing isn’t the answer. DMV is a mess. Every government agency is overloaded an inefficient and doesn’t really serve the people well. But gutting it is not the answer. Repairing, replacing, modernizing and expanding is. Their grievances often mirror those of the other side. The solutions is what we disagree upon.
