Messages from My Mother

10/7/2021
The specialty of the house today is Messages From My Mother -- quite the HOT TOPIC! In this episode, my goal is to inspire and encourage you to become who you are in spite of -- and because of -- those messages your mother instilled in you. We’re going to: What are some of the beliefs your mother gave you which no longer serve you? Did she demonstrate to you that you’re not enough, unloveable or did she strive to encourage you to believe in yourself to create self confidence? How has any of these beliefs handicapped you to becoming your best SELF? No matter what background you have, you have the opportunity to choose who you really want to be. It may not be easy, however it’s doable. You may encounter anxiety and resistance from your inside, however, you can take action to reinforce who you want to be; ask the people close to you for their guidance and support and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Featured treat: While my mother passed down her baking skills, she never shared her actual recipes. Showing Up for Yourself

9/29/2021
You’ve probably heard the term Showing Up for Yourself. In a nutshell, it’s all about practicing epic Self-care (yes, that is Self with a capital S and for good reason.) Dr. Denise Fournier, a clinical psychologist said in a post for Thrive Global, the idea of showing up for yourself from a mental health perspective has tremendous depth and significance. Showing up for yourself is all about making yourself a priority and taking care of your own needs, whether they be practical, physical, emotional or spiritual. We all know that unless you show up for yourself first, you can’t fully show up for anyone or anything else. You will hear some people say that taking care of your own needs first is selfish. Don’t listen to them. This act is about taking care of YOU. You must be your own advocate to thrive in this wild and wacky world of constant flux. We spend so much time on automatic pilot, focusing our attention on mundane things . Showing up for yourself means taking a break from all that to get grounded, be mindful and present in order to care for your health and to nurture your own creativity. Ways to Show Up for Yourself Start now by getting into the practice of supporting yourself in a myriad of ways. Showing Up for Yourself will become second nature and you might just be surprised at the burst of your own inner power. Here's Your Damn Permission

9/22/2021
Have you been seeking permission from others to live your life? In this episode, we'll release the seat belt that’s been holding you back. No judgement... no rules! Now is the time to use that permission slip and give yourself the green light. Striving to reach one’s potential is always a worthy goal. So you ask...How does one begin? According to an article in Psychology Today, participating in more self-expansion activities each day increases your knowledge and sense of self. When we self- expand, we take a beautiful trip into uncharted territory. We are widening our understanding of who we are, what we’re able to do and how we view life. Examples of self-expansion activities include: Also, more frequent self-expansion is linked to greater feelings of competence. You don’t have to live in fear of being your best self. Stop allowing your inner unresolved conflicts to hold you back. It’s not the person you see in the mirror who can give you your permission but the person inside YOU; your adorable little YOU, who has unresolved issues and needs so let’s begin to address the wants, needs and desires yearning inside us. So take my hand ‘cuz we’re in this together.
