Reflections's podcast

The fourth class of people who are "blessed", according to Jesus Christ, is "the meek." Who are "the meek"? And just how are they "blessed"? All of my Reflections are avaialbe at reflections.libsyn.com. As always, I hope this one is a total blessing.

Jesus' second "beatitude" is "Blessed are those who mourn". This Reflection explores who they are, why they might be mourning and how they are blessed. As always, I hope both the Reflection and the Resource mentioned in it are blessings.

This Reflection begins what is known as "The Sermon on the Mount", which I prefer to call "The Messianic Manifesto". Is there any significance to the tendency of Jesus Christ to sit down to teach? Job started out responding to Bildad in chapter 9, but he concludes in chapter 10 by complaining to God. The answer to his final complaint -- this tie - is found in an unexpected, if familiar, passage. All the Reflections are available from reflections.libsyn.com, and I trust they will all be helpful!

Here's a sample of the evangelistic novel of intrigue I wrote quite a few years ago. All of Job's questions and complaints are answered in the God-breathed New Testament. More than one example is found in this chapter. For instnace, when Job complains that "there is no mediator", the New Testament says "Christ is our Mediator!" We have a lot to thank and praise God for! Job asks that question and, likie all of his questions, it's not answered in that Book. It is, however, answered in the New Testament. This episode concludes Bildad's first accusation against Job, the Sufferer. Unfortunately, church peopel are often guilty of similar behavior. I'm not surprised when unsaved people behave like this, but it's more than sad when beleivers do. Hopefully, this message will convict us and inspire us to respond to suffering with more compassion. Job's so-called "friend" Bildad takes his turn trying to "explain" Job's suffering, but he's more heartless than Eliphaz, who has just finished. We learn valuable lessons in how NOT to minister to sufferers from this passage, and possibly to repent from following certain church tradtions. Most of us begin well. We're full of energy and enthusiasm. But as time goes on, discouragement sets in. People turn on us and we experience rejection and neglect. Many even quit. All are tempted. But Scripture, from beginning to end, is all about finishing well. I hope this Reflection encourages us to stay the course. All the Reflections are available from reflections.libsyn.com.

On the eve of my spiritual birthday, I decided to do something completely different: no references to written resources, no script, very little editing. I just quickly "reflect" on my own spiritual odyssey. Litening to it was kind of frustrating; so many things left out and so many things I could have said better. Again and again, humanity repays God's mercy by sliding back into the sins He has previously jusdged us for. Genesis chpater 11 is no exception. Hopefully, this generation of God's people will learn from these errors and pains of past generations...while we still can. After the Flood, humanity was told to "fill the earth". In Babel, they tried to disobey that command. Just before returning to heavenm Jesus told His followers to spread the Gospel to "all nations".
