Christy Wood owns and trains at the Wood 'N' Horse Ranch in 3 Rivers California. She has completed 13 consecutive Chief Joseph Rides. That is she has ridden the 1300 mile trail that Joseph retreated on.

Chief Joseph was born in the Nez Perce summer camp near Lake Wallowa in the Wallowa Valley. He would always remember this place as his home. Even after the white man and the U.S. Army chased him from it.
