Today marks 18 years since the brutal murder of Army Specialist Richard Davis - a tragedy that altered the course of many lives, mine included. I want to take a moment to remember him and his family by sharing an article from my archives. On July 31, 2008, Colonel Michael Ross Stahlman, USMC, was found in his room at Camp Ramadi, Iraq with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head. The right-handed colonel died Oct. 5, 2008. Despite the fact that he never suffered from depression, within hours, investigators labeled the shooting a suicide attempt. They have stuck with that finding to this day, leaving his widow to bear the task of finding the truth.

On January 22, 1991, Colonel James Sabow, USMC, was mysteriously shot in his backyard at El Toro Air Station in California. The military immediately said it was suicide. However, his family has amassed a sizable amount of forensic evidence proving murder.
