Lamar Jackson and the Week 1 Recap

9/9/2019
Lamar Jackson…enough said. Remember when draft analysts were saying that he should work out as a wide receiver instead of a quarterback? Yeah, me too. Well, bravo to Lamar for believing in himself. Granted, he was playing against a depleted Dolphins team who may be the worst NFL team ever assembled, but Jackson completed 85 percent of his passes and had 5 touchdowns through the air…and he didn’t even play the 4th quarter! He had 40+ fantasy points, and that was without using his legs. All...

Running Back Handcuffs

8/23/2019
Handcuffing a running back means to draft his backup in case he gets hurt. This is important to do IF your running back is on a high-powered offense. You have to think “if my guy goes down, will the next guy up have good production?” https://thefantasyfootballcoach.com/

Draft a Defense Late

8/22/2019
There’s no sense in taking a defense in the early rounds. I see people do this all the time. Yes, it’s great to have an elite defense because you can rely on them to put up a decent total every week, and you really don’t ever have to worry about changing defenses, except on bye weeks. The issue is, owners will reach to draft the top defense in the 7th round or something. That’s just crazy to me! Usually, the difference in fantasy points per game between the top defense and the tenth ranked...

Adapt During the Draft and Lamar Jackson Tidbits

8/21/2019
Everyone has a strategy heading into the draft. “Okay, I’m going to take X player first, and then Y player, but if Z player is still available in the 2nd round, I’m definitely going to draft him.” It’s necessary to have a solid draft plan, but when the first team is on the clock, things can begin to shift. What happens if the first 5 picks of the draft go the complete opposite direction from how you thought they would? You have to be able to adapt and change up your plan. Also, keep Lamar...

Use Your Head, Not Your Heart

8/16/2019
The passion that NFL fans carry is one of the greatest things about the game. There is a lot of passion involved in fantasy football, too, but just make sure that it isn’t displaced. When managing your team, it’s important to draft with your head instead of your heart. https://www.thefantasyfootballcoach.com

4 Sleepers for 2019

8/13/2019
We are all football fanatics. We watch our teams every Sunday (or Monday…or Thursday) in hopes they can pull out the W. Then the Super Bowl happens. Then the draft. Then free agency. Then….we wait for football to come back around. Good news! It’s almost here! And that means that fantasy football drafts are happening SOON. It’s time to start doing your research and preparation for draft day. Some picks are obvious: Mahomes, Barkley, Hopkins, Julio, Kamara, OBJ, etc. But the money is...
